The Alberta Growers Lounge

I love it. The sun, the food options. Only complaint is the snow removal isn't quite on par with what I am used to but we both have pretty big suvs so no real issue just funny to me how people deny that it could be better haha at least in my experience
My favourite part of Spring is when the residential streets start to get super slushy and you can kick up that soft snow in 4 x 4.
I trust you can spot a Chinook Arch by now?

That’s my girl

Hey Alberta friends all over the world!

I made a video update on my tent, figured I’d share it with you all.

will be posting this in my journal as well.
Super crops and Super chops....Im curious to see how that stump plays out.

Enjoy the warming weather my sales tax free friends.

Super cool, we just found eggs in our fish tank. We knew we had a pair of jewel cichlids, by the way they were acting. They also killed the other jewel that was in the tank with them. They just didn’t spawn eggs yet.

they finally did, and we spot it today just now. I’m super ecstatic to achieve this accomplishment. This will be our fourth successful pair of breeding fish. Super excited!

just under the fish, on the rock, is what looks like a large cluster of small balls... are actually eggs! :cheesygrinsmiley:

Congrats!

I used to have Africans, Jewels, and electric yellows.

They never had babies though. Did you turn up the water temp? I think thats what you do to coax them into it.

Hey man thanks!!

the heater is already set to the optimal heat for breeding jewel cichlids. They moved them yesterday morning. Probably being held in the mouth of the mom. Both aren’t eating anymore.

Thanks man! I bet those were cute little babies!!

I’m very much a dad when it comes to the thermostat. Don’t you dare touch my thermostat

Thats awesome! But I cant believe those arent real plants in there. C'mon now, a grower should be able to slap some t5s in for a light and grow the real plants underwater as well as above water.
We had real plants in our tanks once a long time ago.:. I didn’t like how green it made the water. I like my tanks crystal clear!! :cheesygrinsmiley:
we also had this stuff I can’t remember what it was called but it duplicates its self and ended up taking over the tank. We had to empty it and clean the tank then start fresh again.

Aquascape is backlips next project?
Hahaha maybe... maybe not lol it’s all so interesting but I don’t see my self starting a new project when I’ve got so many on the go... In the mean time, doesn’t mean I can’t research it and learn.:high-five:

Power heads and Plecostomus' for clear water

My cousin told me once he had a sucker fish that disappeared. The water circulation and filter stopped. I guess there is a way to siphon start the pump by sucking a straw. Long story short someone ended up with sucker fish bits in their mouth. Don't get me started on what happened to the Oscar fish I rescued.

That fish is a beast!
