TG40's Organic Super Soil Grow - Fluxing - White Widow - Pineapple Chunk - OG13

Should I be silica? I noticed somebody suggesting this in a different thread. Whats it do??

From my understanding silica products are used for strengthening your plants from the inside out, using silica products should help your girls be more resistant to drought and other environmental factors like heat and cold, seems almost like some steroids for the girls ;) I was going to pick up a bottle of the botanicare silica blast but it seems the package is undeliverable.. Thinking about picking up some rhino skin from AN which is the same thing, they are both derived from potassium silicate, although, the botanicare line seems to be the potassium silicate/sodium silicate and the AN rhino skin is just the potassium silicate.. Definitely will wait to read some more background info from these more knowledgeable growers. Also have been reading that some nutrient lines/medium companis don't incorporate any silica into their mixes so a bottle of this may be a good idea..

Again, lets read the pros thoughts prior to picking up a bottle of this :) Hope you are having a chill smoke filled week TG.

You should never flush organic soil! You just washed out many, many nutrients. Did you ever give thought to maybe the plant you're growing just wasn't a healthy seed? Edit, I just saw it was a seed from Green House. There is your problem, that is a very spotty seed company. I've grown out about 20 of their seeds & never have I seen a "keeper". Ignore the Cannabis Cup winners(seed companies), it doesn't mean their actually any good!

Hey legit, there all showing similar problems, the White Widow is the worst. I wouldn't really call it a flush (even tho that's what I called it) I used like 3 or 4 gallons. There in 5 gallon pots. I gave them a little extra water. I've haD several people on here tell me to do this, and if you read the whole thread you would know that I was worried that I would be screwing shit up by pouring that much water thru an organic soil. The reason I'm on this site is to learn, so I've been grasping at straws trying to fix the problem.

You come across a little loud, not sure if that's because this is text and I can't see your body language, or here your voice.

The other breeders were Barney's Farms, and G13 labs. Are they any good?

FWIW,

My Barneys Vanilla Kush was a little disappointing 3 no sprouts, one female was decent quality low yield, huge thick cola lost an oz to bud rot, However it was early in my growing. I will definitely top her a few times next time I grow her to have smaller colas.

G13 Pineapple Express, very very good producer, and quality. sorry I only ordered 2 seeds.

I can't blaming anything on the breeders. I could have the best stock in the world and I wouldn't know it at this point. lol.

Og13 from g13 smells like mangos at this stage...

Pineapple chunk from Barney's farm smells like pineapples...

I'm dead serious. At first the PC had strong skunk smell, but now the room smells fruity.

I hope all is going well for you brah. I use dynagro protekt silica. works good but I never use more than 1/4 tsp a gallon

Thank you Braddah,
Everything is good, will post update later. Going to start brewing another tea tonight. Is the silica safe at mid flower?

One of my pineapple chunks has really rubbery branches. Silica is good for this right? Do u think its beneficial this late I the grow?

Update, Its been 36 days since the flip. The WW giving the most problems has a lot of yellow but the leaves are not falling. All of the flowers have gotten a lot thicker in the last 2 days, not sure why, I did do a light defol. Heres some pictures...

Yeah tg40. the silica is safe to use now. I don't use a lot a little is all you really need at least for me. 1/4 TO 1/2 TSP A GALLON.

Silica wil also raise your waters ph.

But i don't ph anything and never try to alter the ph its not necessary for me.

Just doing a fast drive thru and seen ya'll talking seed vendors. I've grown a lot of Greenhouses seeds myself. Best pricing and Greenhouse really has pioneered more cup winners than anyone else. Least I think so, I could be talking out my azz but I know they hold more than their share of cup winners and not the copycat breeders. But really it comes down to working with a strain. Afew time around and you figure the strain out. Hell I've still learning strains I've been growing for the last 5 years. To me I like to do a lot of strains, which I know some I've finished, where far from what they could've been, just from my inexperience with the strain. If you have the space clone, you never know what you got till it's cured abit and you might not ever be able to find that pheno again. Man I've lost acouple I'd kill to have again,, but live, learn, die and forget it all anyways. Silica can never hurt. It's hardly ever a problem of it lacking in almost any fertilizer regiment, but it never hurts to give it all it can handle. They claim it might ever help with pm and the dreaded mites.

Hey Wood, Thanks for droppin by. Im learning man, different strains have different needs.

The best plant Ive grown to date was a Bubba Kush bag seed, lol. Hopefully I will end up with a good harvest. We will see.

The Gnats are out of control! I used mosquito dunks two times, now I have super gnats, and a lot. I have Azamax, which I am going to apply as soil drench either tonight or tomorrow. The box says its safe to use all the up to harvest. Im hoping I don't have to do more than two applications. I wanted to do another tea this watering but it will have to wait until next watering, these gnats have to be taken care of NOW!

Do any of you guys use foliar feedings? I have not and was wondering if this is something that I should be doing. I will try to get some pics up tonight.

lay those yellow sticky traps an inch or two above the soil, you will put a big dent in the population if not completely get rid of them.

I had some stragglers from the last grow and put the traps in from the beginning of this one. I havent seen any for weeks.
