You are right, you would have a huge increase in Temperature with both filters on the same line

How ineffective are they ? Can you still completely smell it ?

You could always try and set one up as a scrubber in the room and have the other filter set up in-line.

Just throwing out suggestions for you :)

They're pretty ineffective... I'm only 28 days into flowering right now so I haven't even got to the smelly part, not even close. I don't have another blower, nor would I want to hook up another one (this is in my bedroom) can barely sleep with all the noise as it is... I'm just hoping my gf can stand it and I'll be fine with the ona.. Thanks!

But the better of 2 evils :) have you tried the linen scented one ? It is nowhere near as distinct of a smell.

Have you thought about a Carbon Filter or even a Carbon Scrubber in the box ?

It really would solve all your problems in one swoop, it might cost more than the ONA but you will have far far less to worry about in the long run and it would be so much more effective at actually removing the smell and there would be no other smell in its place

I have heard that if ONA comes into contact with your buds it will effectively neutralise their taste and smell which nobody wants but if you are careful all should be good.

Actually when you think about it, in the LONG RUN, you'd have to keep buying more ONA over and over so it would get considerably more expensive than a carbon filter and a fan.

I have the on in a little lid blowing out of my exhaust so I don't think it will get into the buds unless it gets sucked back down into the intake :( but I have the exhaust blowing at the ceiling..

Umm, stupid question here, but is the fan in the box, and are you PULLING air through or Pushing air into the filter. I have a 210 CFM phat filter and a 190 CFM fan and it works considerably well.

Second question is this: What is the rated CFM of the fan and the filter. The fan has to be rated LOWER than the filter in order for it to work right. Air blowing through the filter too fast will not be scrubbed correctly. This is called "blow-by".

Check those two and see if one of these suggestions are the one that needs improvement

Actually there it is... BOTH are the problem... SUCK never BLOW into your filter. and your fan is rated at higher CFM than your Phat Filter

That is basically what I said :P ha ha the carbon filter would cost more initally.

I was thinking about taking it back and seeing if they would swap it but I'll see what my gf thinks..

Yes... That's why I bought this after I already tried two carbon filters...

I'm sucking through my filter... and like I've said I've turned my fan down to 30%, barely blowing out air and everywhere in between?

Well I have Phresh filter not Phat... I've still heard numerous great things about both... I am only 28 days into flowering and it's no less then my white widows at harvest (I'm guessing these stink a bit more, and will only get worse). My tent is closed 24/7 except for 15 minutes around 9pm... I sealed all of the passive intake holdes in the tent with aluminum tape and I have an 80mm fan blowing air into the tent at the bottom.. At the top I have the 165cfm fan sucking the air through the filter > hood > blower > out... It keeps my temps at 79F +- 1F... But if I put my face in front of the exhaust all I smell is plant (on both filters). Not to mention my room and just a little in the hall way.. The ona removed the smell but of course I'm only 28 days in and it smells like ona!

How come you sealed all of your passive intakes ?

Do you have an active intake installed ?

Because my temps are just fine and I didn't want any air to leak out anywhere.. I have the 80mm fan as my active intake blowing it in through the bottom under the screen.

Hey believe me man I would LOVEEE to be able to just have my carbon filter work properly! I'm not going to spend another dime though so it will be modifying/tweaking what I got or just use the ona :/

I have to add.... My room is shut 24/7 and the a/c is on set at 73F... It's 100-110F outside and the windows/doors etc are NEVER open... Perhaps that's where mine is differing.. None of the smell is going anywhere!
 
I grew sensi star before, it didnt seem like the odor was very strong at all. it smelled very fruity. (granted it was only one plant and not even 1/4 the size of yours haha) :thumb:

lemon skunk was the one that started smelling in veg and immediately started reeking about 2 weeks into flower. :Namaste:

Yeah man this is a real pungent smell, you walk in and your nose kind of crinkles lol.. Then when you rub your fingers on it it's citrus and fruity. This ona works well and my gf doesn't mind it :)
 
does it smell like fruit loops to you? me and my roomie used to joke that it did...

Hmm I wish man... Just smells like pungent over powering weed lol.. But not like piny or fruity or skunky.. I don't know how the fuck to explain it.. When you rub it smells fruity and citrus like.

Yup that's totally the smell I get if I touch it or rip off a little sugar leaf... But that's definitely not the smell I get out of my carbon filter... Hopefully when cured it smells like the good smell!
