Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

I was trying to learn if the cured THC before being heated in the press would return a different result than uncured. When I get around to this, I plan on extracting has with dry ice chunks because it's super easy, but doing it that way affords me the luxury of being able to do it immediately after being chopped, but if the THC needs to be first converted before being frozen then cooked, I'm very fuzzy in that end of knowledge. From videos, I was able to gather that the trics are decarbed when being heated, so maybe it doesn't matter? But after reading here that pressing nugs also squeezes out the terpenes from the plant, I might prefer that. I guess like Tead, we have to try a few different ways to see what gives us what we want.

Pressing fresh non-dry flowers doesn't seem like a good idea. How hot are the plates @ press time?

Boiling water under pressure and heat sounds like a recipe for something.

You could shoot your eye out with that shit. lol

Yup or burn ur hand lol either way kinda sux 2 me n the hand burning part I've experienced myself with the hairstraightner that gets up to 370°f for its lowest setting lol. So pretty dam hot to be shooting water from it. So I'm guna be doing any presses with way more then enuf parchment paper lol. That an eventually getting a proper press would be a good idea lol.

My grower friend from Cali said he went thru like 10 hair straighteners making rosin or shatter or whatever it is they make when them. lol

I like the press thing.

I'm making dry sift hash - melts @ room temps. I'm not sure how to puff it.

I wrap it up in parchment paper and put it in my pocket and carry it around like a piece of bacon.

I don't have the proper rig. I've been trying it in my VAPE that has a wax insert.
It kinda works but it doesn't burn up fast like it does with a glass pipe. So I don't get a really big hit like I wanna get.

When u say wax insert do u mean an adapter that has coils so u can vape ur dabs/concentrate?

Mine came with interchangeable tips. One for wax, one for liquid, and one for dry flower material.

Nice im thinking bout getting one for a more discreet way to vape on the road instead of having to load this thing like ur with coils even with my double coils i still need to reload every 4 r 5 hit an they not super super big but this hidden wasp is what its called for like 55$ usd not bad an it has alil tank looking deal on it an it seeams pretty deep so jus fill an go i wud assume lol. but yea now i need to get a press then ill be in the real business lol.

hey maybe some one on here has heard of it or tried it but has any1 hard wild lettuce helping with pain? well the seeds i ordered showed up i figure i can mabe use it to help me gettn the rest of the way off these dam opiates.

This is the pen I use, the Phatomizer coils come in like a 5 pack for $20 or so. It’s got a quartz heating coil that the wax/oil drips down on to the coil. It works great for a dab at a time but I tried to load one with a half gram or so for a night at the bar and ended up with one way too huge hit and then it kind of just clogged and wasted the wax.

Even though it works good unless overloaded, I still prefer joints over this pen.

Vapes always leave something to desire.
I know a guy that presses fresh cut buds at a super low temp 185-200 depending on the strain. The resulting rosin is a little more viscus than most other extracts but the flavor you get it unreal. It tastes exactly how the fresh plant smells. The problem is that you have to store it properly because the flavor changes quickly.
His company also freeze dries their buds to preserve the fresh terps.

When ya grow 6ft plants, those trunks got allot to support.
I've past my garden shear's ability to get around the trunks. The saws-all stays plugged in near my harvesting area these days. I pondered scissor-type PVC pipe cutters... but they max out around 3in.
Nice. I've had a few hit that height, but they didn't get that fat of trunk. Now my outdoor girls last year that hit 11+ ft, I had to use my 3ft long tree trimmers on to fit around the stem.

Man... some day, not today or probably anytime soon, I'll have a chance to do such things. Tead can't wait. I really wanna see one taller than my house.

Tead, what did you yield from that behemoth?

You're not supposed to ask that question yet. I've not been pleased. I had a major screw-up a while back where I had my timer set to an 18hr cycle in bloom for about 2 weeks. The results of it were pretty much major suckage. About 1/2 the girls were mostly ok because they were freshly moved into bloom, but the other half were showing all the signs of shifting back to veg.
Meh! They'll squeeze up just the same.
Having said that, and add in the broad range of genetics, I'd put the average around 7oz for the moment. Yup.... not happy. Check back in 3 months.

No fuckin way!!!!!!!!! That trunk I would estimate to easily be about double my trunks at harvest time. That does suck ass about the timer mishap though and I could see how it would cost you about 2 weeks of progress. If only life were so forgiving that you could've pulled her out and tossed her in veg for 2 more weeks to fully reveg her, then start the clock again after that, I do know better, at least how impossible that would've been in my world. Still though, 7 ounce has my jaw on the floor in disbelief. Thankfully your grow is such that you can rely on other plants to pull the weight if ever one fails. My grow would not afford me that grace. For Sky it's always do or die every time.

I look forward to see what you get from future cuts that produce trunks that thick. I predict 26 zips assuming it's a high yielding strain to start.
