Nice garden... BUT squirrel fits nice in a pot of gumbo. Natives throw whatever they can in a pot... BUT then you down there...

Hey I woodn't eat a 'city squirrel' either.. Just for the record... I do like to feed them... Miss J adoubts 10 or 15 hungry ones every year. Till the neighborhood cats get them. Most take a drive off the power lines, and get a head trauma I think.. Then the cats pick them off..

Garden looks nice....

I take it you talking JTR as in Jack?????????? Great plant. Grown right she can be a monster of so sick smelling shit............... I did acouple I wish I Still had............ Peoples loved it... You know who else been working with some Jack''' besides me when I can afford a bottle of Single Barrel of Jack,,, Old Cookie Monster''' He's been playing with it for afew years.. Last I did was outdoors,,, and she was a monster... 2-3 pounds at 9 foot...........

Man that tallest you got has one hella mainstem..
Tried to hook up with ya and rap afew times.... Done gave up on that...

But i do see your plugging along then with that crib......... GL and Keepem Green

Hope alls good down that ways...

Sending you and yours our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year.

Welcome along Dankman! It's a mellow place.

Git ur sciencey hat on!
Today we have the tale of 2 feeding systems.
Both shots are of twin plants treated exactly the same except for food. Jack H on top and UltraDog below.
The plants on the right are my traditional Osmo routine. The plants on the left are fed a variable system (MegaCrop in this case).

Size reference... the pots are 12" high and 6" round.

The trade off I've been living with is now horribly shocking. To be fair, the smaller the plant, the less the difference, and I was stuck in a small world, but still.

It looks like the Megacrop is doing much better with both strains.

Well... I'm seeing the same action with other variable systems also, so I'm not touting any specific system here.... just the difference between a normal feeding system and my 3.3g/L fixed Osmocote pots. I completely expected this and it was my goal to grow better/bigger plants... just fun to see in action. The other switch in play in my world is the difference between the 1.5gal tubes and the 5gal pots... my world is starting to get tall.

More roots equals more shoots. Chopping those fat stems at the end is a task if using hand held pruner sheers.

I only own a jigsaw, but it does the job. Chain saw would be a better feel after breaking apart a monster though.

Oh!
The good 'ol riciprocating monster (saws-all) would be good too.... but the chainsaw would be funnier.
The skillsaw seems problematic to use.
Jigsaw as you mentioned... but even that one seems hard to employ sideways like that.
Got one of those undercut wigglers. That would be very effective but not very funny at all.
Lots of various hand saws... boring.
OH!!!
I'm sure I need a different saw for this purpose. While I have no idea what it might be, I'm seeing the excuse need for a visit to the tool section. I'm sure there's some sort of new shiny toy I need.

Spoken like a true NorthWesterner ehhh? Very nice. Growing up in the Oregon woods, I've seen similar devices employed in contests... tho I always enjoyed the log rolling portion.
Mine's electric.... I shudder to even call it a chainsaw.
I love my little electric!

Weighs nuthin' ... cuts one-handed ... one arm on the tree branch, the other wielding the saw ... wheeeeee!

But I've spent my time with the big serious ones too - the ones that keep ya humble, y'know? o_O;)

I got it even bettah.... 24v battery powered! It'll go for about 1/2hr solid cuttin.
Kinda happy I don't own a real one... the missus might want me to use it rather than call the tree company. Life in Oak tree land can lead to frequent trimming issues. Got a few over the roof right now.

I knew a guy who wobbled on the ladder, it kicked, and he walked it down his chest as he fell. Had a nice scar to show off.

:)

Yay for tree companies! :p

I got one of them electric ones two.. Sits on top a telescopic pole,, for tree pruning. Great little saw..

Hope all's well down there for the New Years............

Bet they got some hella parties going on down that ways tonight....
