Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Mid 60s today... 70s tomorrow. Betty may survive.

Beautiful night... gonna spend some time with friends, food, and a bowl tonight... we're calling it cold weather recovery.

Nose in the garden as soon as the lights hit....

Checking the newest UltraDog for sex. I can't believe I've hit 2 fems from a batch of reg seeds. Usually this plays out the opposite way.
Please pardon the photo spew....

Of course, then there's the Osmo fed Crit+2.0 cooking right along. She's about 50/50 amber cloudy this morning. Dense, but still filling in. A sharp eye will notice bungee cords being used to hold her up. The scissor fingers.... oh they itch!
IMAG49061.jpg
IMAG4903.jpg

hmmm... shoulda rotated that one.... whoops.

In praise of Osmocote....
I've always held firm belief in the 'pictures speak a thousand words' ideas.

IMAG49272.jpg

Roughly outlined in black is an Osmocote+ fed Critical+ 2.0. She's the best plant I've seen so far this season.
The best product off of the laziest method.... I knew there was a good reason I chose to explore this path.

I'd normally prattle on a bit about various bonuses of Osmo growing, but I'll leave the photos to speak the only real important words.

Yup, Osmocote+ and perlite.... works for me!

My recipe for Bean and Rice in slightly out of focus visual format.
I'll pass on the shrimp... seems like it would just get lost and not contribute flavor wise. Seems you might be thinkin gumbo there.

Damn... I had to dig back a long way to find that... time to cook!

Nice reminder. I'm going to make me some as soon as I find some shrimp and andoullie to fall in the pot with them :)

The shrimp is just for the girls serving - she accepts it as gumbo

Let's just do more bud porn. Played with colors today.

The first signs of fan leaf consumption are showing. Note vein on larger leaf in lower left.

Then we have a view into my morning....

IMAG52312.jpg

This is the larger branches from an early cut Critical+ 2.0. I dried it using the output from a dehumidifier. Took about 7 days to get snapping stems. Weight was 35g, but I smoked a good bit of it already.

Have you done so? I'd have her hanging by now. :battingeyelashes:

It seems to be only a matter of time before every subscription I have falls victim to the 'accidental unsubscribe' phenomenon. Resubscribed and off to catch up. Congrats on the journal award. :thumb:

You underestimate my lazy levels.
I suspect her day is at hand. Gotta do a feeding this evening anyway.... seems a good time. I'm gonna snatch her big buds and let some lower popcorn develop.

Notes from the grow log...

OsmoCrit+2.0 created with 30g Osmocote+

Moved red bucket osmo c+ into bloom

So... 90 days from start to finish. 1 month of veg and 2 of bloom. Only fed water. Exactly as planned. So happy!

Thanks! I got an cute little bud jar that I'm enamored with and a nifty little dry herb vaporizer pen. Of course, the standard shirt (wearing it now) and stickers. I'll probably not be a POTM or even NOTM winner due to my local challenges, and I'm mostly to weird and anti-social for the MOTM, so JOTM in a target I can hit and it comes in 'surprise package' form (no vote... just a notification) so it's extra fun.

I don't think you missed anything of potential interest... don't bother reading back... just the daily run as usual. Mardi Gras is afoot, so the photos should start getting colorful soon. Hell... I've been staring at your thread waiting to see if Rob chimes in with more... tho one would expect his response to come to you via PM rather than words in your thread.

So... we need to start a grass-roots effort. Those 420Mag bud jars are simply not adequate for growers.
This is a 1qt canning jar with the part that didn't fit into the bud jar....
IMAG5362.jpg

Pardon the mess... a jumbled desk is a sign of creativity.
Perhaps the 420Mag bud jars are aimed at presentation rather than curing.
I'm of the opinion that they need about a 4 foot tall, 6 inch round affair instead of the shorty they ship.
Somehow I doubt this dream will come to fruition... but a boy can dream after all.... a boy can dream.

Very itchy scissor fingers... You and Sue both.

. So, I purchased these seeds [ Pineapple Chunk ] based upon other folk's grows. Impressive buds.... huge and sticky.
I had nice buds, but nothing hugely impressive like I witnessed elsewhere

I haven't seen this before- big PC buds, but I haven't really paid attention. It doesn't grow big buds for me. They're smallish and usually a little bit weird -like everything else about this plant.

I'm thinking that this is not a heat loving plant.

In my experience this isn't an anything loving plant. It doesn't feel love. You can't do anything good enough to make it love you or anything you do for it, so don't think you can. But do not ever let it know that you know this. You have to keep up a good front -try and avoid having her turn on you completely.

My brain described it as "pussy'.

... I did some more smell testing.

...sorry to toss out such socially unacceptable words.

Maybe not socially acceptable, but fully acceptable the rest of the time, in my humble opinion. At least in the sense you meant it.

As one witty and politically incorrect fellow 420 member once said- "if they only had a vagina, I wouldn't need her anymore.'

Maybe this is one more inevitable step down that evolutionary path?

After all- plants have gone all 'fem' now. Female plants don't even need males anymore to make seeds.
But the fem girls need us to be able to reproduce. Those girls aren't stupid. Who's going to step up and take care of them and their children?
Male plants? All they care about is getting off. They will never help with anything.

:hmmmm:
Perhaps best not to tell Mrs Tead about this quite yet, for the future of our species.

Did she see you out there, smelling and smelling?

This is a great idea.
Did you really mean 'four feet tall' though??

I scratched my head over those nug jars in the beginning too. I guess I came to the conclusion that they're partly for presentation at a party or something? Mine don't appear to seal quite well enough for long-term storage. I'd have to have quite a large stoner party to be able to put all my nug jars to good use. Though I do like the jars a lot- and definitely enjoy them during my stoner parties of one.
I mostly use large 12" jars for curing, but really - any size from a pint on up would be useful. Would be nice to have some decent sized ones though. Square glass is nice, a bit stronger and more practical.
There is/was a 420 sponsor I believe -
C-vault ? They have nice metal ones.
We should definitely work on that idea.

Yes I'm glad to hear from Rob that he'll pm me back. Things always feel much more homey in a place with a little of the human touch. Makes all the difference.
Seems like it's become an all consuming war with Asian spambots at this point, which must be very frustrating.

Oh man... thanks Weas. I was kinda worried about keeping this strain going, but it's smoke was SO good. I've got a PC clone going that's still lanky and weird, but looks better than the first one. Nice to know it's not necessarily my techniques, tho I still feel I was heavy handed with her nutes.

Did she see you out there, smelling and smelling?

Ya know... the Mrs. is mighty used to seeing 'ole Tead poke his nose out the shed for an extended period. She ignores such things unless there's a really smelly plant that has left some lingering aroma... then she's most likely going to make some humorous comment.
Further, she doesn't partake of the garden's bounties, so she's probably more likely to see it as wasted shed storage space. As such, she just tends to ignore it all together.
Works for us.
I was briefly worried about coming in from the garden smelling of 'the other woman', but it was a complete non-event. Shame... coulda been a fun moment.

Did you really mean 'four feet tall' though??

Yup. Outrageous, I know, but imagine a huge branch filling it up and my soul smiles a touch. Gotta have dreams after all.
It is a good size to hold a smoking stash in my smoking spot and I've been using it that way. Holds a few days worth. Small enough to hide in a drawer out there. I think it's found it's place in my world.

I sure am happy it's their problem and not mine. I wonder how many human-hours have gone into dealing with it. Such a small thing can have such a huge impact.

Not so long ago there was no such thing as an 'spambot' and we never could have envisioned spending real actual valuable hours of our short lives dealing with such nonsense. The actual return on investment for the spammers (advertising online gaming and such- in Korean) must be zero - but I guess the cost of their investment is also near zero. Still- what's the point?
I will eternally wonder why this stuff and the kitchens posts can't be easily filtered out by software. Will have to ask that burning question when I get the chance. I've asked the mods in the past but they didn't bite.
