Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

Loving the conversation. Van.... whoa! That’s some serious GG! How the cobs come out?

Today was open the bags day. :yahoo:

Close up. :cheesygrinsmiley: The DDAs are so purple they look black.

They’re drying now. I was tempted to grab a taste, but I think I want to wait until they’re at least a month in cure from now on. The differences in effect are profoundly different. It’s worth the wait.

This baby tempts me sorely. Lol!

Getting ready to fire up a little Carnival cob. I was sick to my stomach yesterday and didn’t want to stress it with digesting cob today. Tomorrow I’ll start the day with a chew. It’s been a while since I indulged and all my cobs are just that much further along the cure. :slide:

These are my last cobs of the season. I’ll be moving mid-month and starting all over again.

Awesome looking cobs Sue. I can appreciate your being tempted by the Dark Devil bud, lol.

You mentioned they are drying now, how long will you leave them out before re sealing them to finish the cure?

I think they were out for about an hour or so. The Zamaldelica x Panama ones took longer, but they were wetter going in. They took about three hours

Thanks @dajerm119. :hugs: You are gonna love the end result. That bit of DDA cob I had with Chris Scorpio was a definite standout at a month. I can't wait to see what mine are like at the three-month mark.

Or mine now????

Sue that cola bud looks like heaven to me I have cravings for curing the colas whole just canary style in the bag like that they are something very special.
When you try the cob compare the two they will be both different believe it or not but both good at the same time.
Superb work my friend just superb.

Sue, the Gorilla Glue Auto cob is sweating still. Should be done in 2 hours. Buds were so flipping sticky and sweet.

Think I might smoke some Jack Herer cob later tonight! Hope u are feeling better Sue!

Hiya SweetSue,

Mysterious, dark DDA cobs look so inviting. This cob thing is getting so interesting. Everyone has had great experiences. So fun. That top cola does look beautiful, full of color, like a glass sculpture. I'm going to cob some carnival when they come down. Sounds like so much fun!

Why thank you sir. :battingeyelashes: I love the look of the flattened apical cola. I think I’ll be doing the colas whole like that many time again. The smell is amazing Tangwena. Dark Devil Auto has a rich flavor of berry and fuel, and it’s my favorite next to Carnival for its upbeat and energetic buzz. Sometimes I get tremors from smoking it and the buzz can be a little hallucinogenic in the right conditions. Perfect for cobbing. :battingeyelashes:

You would love this chemovar Tangwena. Few are as beautiful to grow and the euphoria is unique. Right up your alley. Lol!

Isn’t it nice to have all this new variety? I look forward to a picture of this big-ass cob you’re building.

Thanks Van. :hugs: I’m tired, but happy and relaxed. I’m smoking some DDA buds, so I’m better than happy, to be honest. :slide:

The Carnival cob is one of my favorites, if not the favorite until it gets bumped aside by the DDA.

You’ve watched this crew long enough to realize you’ll become as addicted to the process as we’ve become. Don’t try to say you weren’t forewarned. Lol!

You’re in for a real treat Bode. :hugs:

@Kingjoe83 This is the thread I was talking about. Not sure if you have been here before or not, but everyone that has done this seems to enjoy the results.
Thanks brotha

Lmao true that :passitleft:

My bad

heya fello coboholics,, cheers to y'all

got a q for yas iffin i might,, a sour q, kinda

curious if there has been discussion here about the possibilities of cobs going kinda sour if left wrapped up too long

not sure how to describe what i mean by sour,, oh, hang on,, no it's not,, not hard at all

i have noticed in a few of my cobs a very different smell, and taste,

easy to describe,, to me like an ammonia like smell, and taste,, quite different than normal cob wonderful smell

i know this is from my neglect, here i got to thinking that cobbing was virtually maintenance free once plugged in,, well, silly me,, no free ride as usual

darn

cheers friends:volcano-smiley:

@nivek Wow. Was it wet? It sounds possible that it could go sour. I know ammonia smell in other fermentation processes is a bad sign.

'wet' as in , yes, it\they were still in the fermentation process, some up to three months old, all wrapped up and vacuum sealed

now, dont wantcha thinkin they was wrapped and vacuumed for three months and never opened,, nope, not the case,,

but not opened and inspected weekly or even bi weekly, and some longer than others.

i have accumulated quite a few cobs, and some may have slipped under the maintenance process door, a bit too long

i feel the sourness might affect the potency as well,, more testing necessary,, ha

cheers fish

Glad you could make it bud!

That ammonia smell could be mold

well, tho i know there are more kinds of molds than i can imagine, i imagine, this is certainly not a visible mold as i have seen mold, and i have seen mold on these cobs,, awful sight indeed

a bacteria perhaps??
