Tales From The Krip!

With my Dolato and Slurricane I had nice chucnky buds all over the place, no real massive colas. Really the tops were almost less dense than secondary colas or tops. My Slurricane is typically just shy of 5 ounces a plant and the Dolato did just over 5 ounces both times I ran it. For me this is a very nice yield per plant. A lot of what I run tends to be 3 to 4 zips a plant.

This is pretty funny!

People keep stealing ‘420’ milepost signs, but Washington state has a quirky solution

The state Department of Transportation has replaced some mile-marker signs with the numbers 68.9 or 419.9, or removed mileposts 69 and 420 altogether, to combat thefts.

In an effort to thwart the kinds of people amused by stealing signs bearing numbers like “69” and “420,” the Washington State Department of Transportation has, in some places, installed alternatives.
Along one highway in Eastern Washington, for example, the department has replaced an oft-pilfered milepost marker “69” — a number that also refers to a sex position — with one that reads “68.9.” Other times, the agency has decided to simply skip the signs most likely to be purloined, said Department of Transportation spokeswoman Beth Bousley.

“Depending on location and what was taken, we can replace the sign or, at times, leave one blank — so there would be a 419 and 421 mile-marker but not a 420,” she said. “In addition, we’ve created other signs — 419.9 and 68.9 — so they still give drivers location information without being a popular number to steal.”

Highways in Washington state have about 8,245 mile-marker signs, and almost 200 are missing, Bousley said. WSDOT has had to replace 608 signs since 2012, she said.

While generally the thefts are considered an amusing lark to those who take them, transportation officials said the practice poses a danger to other motorists.
Milepost markers are critical for helping first responders quickly find a crash or someone who is injured or needs help, Bousley said.
They’re also used to help find addresses in rural areas, to help drivers track their route, and to pinpoint areas that need maintenance, she said.

Stealing a mile-marker sign could lead to a misdemeanor-theft charge and can be punishable by up to 90 days in jail or a $1,000 fine, according to the Washington State Patrol. The practice has been going on for years, Bousley said, and runs in cycles — but shows no signs of abating.
“I know that it’s going on,” Patrol spokesman Trooper Rick Johnson said, “and I guess I can understand it on a juvenile level, but it’s not necessarily funny when you take into account the issues it causes.”
The cost of replacing the signs — which can be as high as $1,000 each — is borne by taxpayers, said Bousley, which diverts money and staff from other projects, such as filling potholes and repairing guardrails.

We’re not the only state affected; for example, Colorado has also tried using signs reading “419.9” instead of “420,” an effort to prevent marijuana enthusiasts from taking them.
When it comes to people stealing certain mile marker signs, WSDOT says the battle is never ending.
One way to combat the theft? Subtracting .1 from the total. This sign is off of 195 north of Rosalia.

BREEDING PLANS

I've been formulating the plan for the breeding program and here's where I'm currently at...

The main tent should be harvested sometime around March 20th, or so. So, I'm gonna start four of the PTK's, instead of the three originally planned, to increase the odds of getting a male. These will be started approximately Feb 7th to give them about a month to sprout & veg.

I'll take cuttings of each and put only the original PTK seedlings into the breeding cabinet. Sometime around March 7th, I'll flip to 12/12 so the males should just be starting to release their pollen as the main tent is being harvested.

Originally, I was going to put the Blackwater & four IHG strains/clones in the breeding cab with the PTK's and just let nature take it's course.

Instead, I'll just collect the male pollen from the PTK males and use it to hand-pollinate the other strains later. Any of the PTK females that get pollinated in the process will just give some F3's; and, because I'll have cuttings of each, I can figure out which are female and which, if any, I want to keep.

So, in about 3 weeks, I'll start those PTK's!

Happy Harvests!

Was able to upload one just now from my cell.

Congrats on the MOTM nomination! :high-five:
It looks like there's a new "max size" of 1,280px. I just re-sized everything and it uploaded. Update coming in a few minutes.

Thanks, Brother! :high-five: I was joking with @Teddy Edwards that I was waiting for them to have an award for "Most Nominated"!

DAY #7 OF 12/12 UPDATE

Day #7 of 12/12 and, the girls are putting out some pistils now. I could see them forming for a few days, but it's probably fair to call this Day #1 of flower.

So far, the stretch has been about what I was hoping for...not too much but I know more is coming. :)

Here's some shots of the packed tent:

Here's a couple shots showing pistil development:

And, here's a few shots that show some of the crazy vertical branching I'm seeing on both the Dolato & Forbidos. These pics don't even really do justice as some of the branching is literally horizontal and looks like it's part of other plants/colas, but it gives an idea:

Haha, I was thinking that too!

Looking great! Did you recently do a leaf wash? Thinking you'll beat the last harvest yield!

:passitleft:

Good eye! :high-five: They got a Brix foliar this morning!

A lot will depend on how well those colas fill out and how good these lights really are, but I'm thinking 28 oz., possibly more, on this one if they fill out like last time. I've got a lot more of the colas further above the net, so if I can get a little more stretch, some penetration into the canopy, and some fat/dense colas, I COULD hit the 2 lb. mark.

That being said, I was just thinking earlier today that, while I won't say you'll never see the tent more packed than it will be on this round, I do think it's going to about as packed as I'd comfortably want it to be!

Just a drive-by,,

They are coming right along...

DAY #10 OF 12/12 - QUICK UPDATE & PIC DUMP

It's day #10 of 12/12 and the girls are now in full-on flower mode, all are healthy, and the nodes are stacking up nicely. They all got some Recharge and EWC yesterday, and I'm anticipating it will be fairly uneventful for the next couple of weeks until the CATs (the kit makes it too easy!).

The tent is really packed! I have about a foot more I can raise the center light before hitting the carbon filter and the two side Mars lights have just over a foot:

And, even with the topping, training, & spreading out to fill the horizontal space, they're all pushing close to 5' from the floor:

Here are a bunch of random canopy & cola shots:

Looking fantastic and a beautiful lush green! Great stacking so far going to be some great looking buds !

Dam brother lookn great those blackwater turned out nice as shiz my man congrats i hope my first hb harvest comes even close to lookn half as gud as that n ill be happy lol. So what did u yield off the autos u did hibrix style? Jus tryn to figure out if i shud jus run all autos for my second hb run. Cause so far its my gorilla glue #4 auto that has looked the best so far out of all my hibrix plants ive done so far. Altho the auto is the only plant ive had in flower with the hb soil yet. But still even in veg my auto barely missed a beat an im very sure the only reason i got 2 leaves show alil burn was cause i got a foiler from another plant hit it an the light burned those 2 leaves tht got shit on them. So lol other then that it never had nuthn wrong with her unless u include the drooping or sad looks they wud get wen i wud dry her out all the way but then as soon as i fed her boom back to perky as hell lol. But my clones are having issues due to it being to dry over here. An im waitn for my nex check inorder to buy new equipment like a humidifier lol. This check is all about lighting an environment. Maybe thts why im havn better luck with the autos. Maybe cause of there fast periods of life they arent around long enuf for the environmental issues to effect them as bad as the photos or mite have to do with how they operate internally or sumthn scientific i dnt know about lol. Well no matter what i end up doing that harvest u jus did looked great man congrats.
