Tales From The Krip!

QUICK TENT UPDATE

I should still have another 3 weeks of veg, or so, before flipping and I'm already seeing I'm going to have an issue running these three different strains. The two Tut's are just looking beautiful and growing like crazy while the BAK and Fruit Punch are going more slowly. The BAK still isn't anywhere as near as healthy as the other three and just got another De-Stress foliar this morning.

The three strains all should finish about the same time, but I'm likely going to have to flip to 12/12 for the two Tuts when the BAK and FP will still be able to use a couple more weeks to fill up the space. Because of this, I'll likely get something like half the potential yield on the BAK & FP I would get if I could give them a little more veg time.

This, of course, is why I said early on I'd likely only run one strain at-a-time, but really wanted to get a quick harvest in and test drive the three mom's, so it's the price I'll pay.

Can you cut the Tuts back some? That'll slow em down so the others can catch up. You may just have to double up on the drenches with the Tut to keep them happy until the other 2 are ready.

x2--and if there's a way to make it get slightly less PAR from the lights, that might help while you wait for the others. I'll stick my strongest plant in the corner usually, and try to rotate the ones that 'need it' more to the center of the tent.

Well, I do have the lights higher over the Tut's but don't want them to high because I want to avoid stretching. And, I've basically been doing canopy management by supercropping because I don't want to start topping at this point and, the real issue with the BAK, IMHO, is that she got too many toppings in veg when I was keeping her as a Bonsai and then I had to thin out all the tops that formed, so the ones there are pretty scrawny. She needs more foliage, which is why I'm anxious to get her on the GE, but schedule says water first, then the GE. They should be ready for watering tomorrow but then, at least another week, I'd estimate before the GE.

Please explain doubling up on the drenches for the Tut? Why not double up on the drenches for the weak BAK? Anything wrong with giving the BAK a GE instead of plain water tomorrow considering her last drench was a TP about 10 days ago?

The AJ was $70 at that bank you ordered at lol. The one bank that I know that has the BCP has it for $140. If I did not get some in a trade I would consider buying them! I think you made a good choice with the dolato s1 though. You should be very happy with what you find in it.

You're right! I missed it! Are you trying to get me to place another order already??? :yummy:

So I'm assuming the tut needs water more often than the other 2. So to keep the tut from fading from being kept in its veg container longer than it should, you can double or even triple the drench frequency. So if growth is next give the tut growth, then when its ready again, like in a day or 2 give it growth again then water. If it wants water every day you can go with a 3rd growth drench in a row then water. Alternate drenches after the plain water drench.

OK...I get it...Thanks, Bro! What about doing a GE on the BAK without doing plain water first (TP was last)?

I broke down and placed what is DEFINITELY my last order for quite some time!

That Apricot Jelly was at a good price, so grabbed them, and while I was there, threw some of the Forbidos in the cart. I think I've now spent my seed allowance for the next five years (luckily, it's been a good month! :ganjamon: ), but long before the time I get around to needing more, I'll hopefully be breeding with the strains I ordered over the last few weeks, which, without a doubt, should be some of the best genetics I've ever owned! :slide:

BLACKWATER RISING

Blackwater is just sprouting:

I checked the Cotton Candy Cane and it had started growing into the side of the grow cube. I was concerned about this since, as I had mentioned, it was about the biggest seed I've ever worked with. So, I enlarged the hole at the top of the cube so she could find her way out and covered her back up.

The Blue Gelato 41, which was the seed that didn't even crack, not surprisingly, doesn't look like it's doing anything. Also not surprisingly, it's the one seed from Barney's Farm. In the last few months I've really turned from a big Barney's Farm fan to quite a big skeptic!

Happy Harvests!

Sorry bud, I haven't been around the Mag much these past couple days and I just saw this. If you haven't already made your decision it would be fine to give growth instead of water no problem.

Thanks, Brother! Yeah, just under 24 hours ago I gave her the water with the rest of them, but was thinking, if she doesn't turn around by the next watering, rather than the GE, I MAY try a Rescue Drench. I'll see what she's looking like, then.
:thanks:

SEED SCARIFICATION ON THE BG41

I checked the new sprouts this morning and the Blackwater is above ground but hasn't really opened up, yet. And, I had to cut away more of the cube for the Cotton Candy Cane, but she's definitely rooted in the cube.

The Blue Gelato 41, as I mentioned last night, didn't appear to have changed, so I dug her out of the cube, and after close to two days soaking in water (she did sink!) and another couple days in the cube, I could probably pass the seed off as a fresh seed:

I do have another four BG41 seeds from the 5-pack but, since I'm more anxious to start the IHG Dolato S1 and Forbidos, I figured I'd try to see if I can salvage this one through a technique called "Seed Scarification" and, if not, just wait for the new genetics.

Scarification involves weakening the outer shell/husk of a seed to make it easier for the seedling to emerge. I don't know that's the issue with this seed but figured it couldn't hurt to try a technique I had seen several years ago.

Basically, just make a small tube of rolled up sandpaper (grit on the inside!):

Put the seed inside, close the ends with your fingers, and shake/roll the seed on the inside of the tube for 3-5 minutes. The sandpaper scrapes/removes the outer layer of the shell making it more permeable to water and easier for the seedling to emerge.

If the thickness of the shell was not the problem, I don't expect anything to happen after another couple of days soaking, but did put her back in a glass of water to see if I can get a taproot to show.

Happy Harvests!

K

Interested to see if the seed scarification works. Congrats on the IHG beans and the realization that those are the last seeds you'll buy for a while, you've made your first step...again! Ha!

:passitleft:

Ummmm, yeah, I was meaning to tell you about that last order!

Actually, I wasn't going to place that second order but @TheGreenYeti forced me to go back to the site and see that I had missed the Apricot Jelly. Well, you know I've got great self-control, and I still wasn't going to place an order just to get the AJ since I already have some good genetics coming in. Then, I saw the Forbidos and checked into it's background. I still wasn't going to order cuz' again, I'm like a "man of steel" when it comes to self-control!

Then I checked out their IG notice of the sale, which I had NOT seen prior to the first order:

inhouse6290Well I told everyone I was doing a big sale a while back and now is the time! You will find 30 to 40% off at most of the vendors this weekend only from today till Monday midnight. Every pack bought will come with 5 freebies I choose and given my track record of insane freebies you know they will be good!! Thank you to everyone for all the support✌for everyone in the UK dont worry I will be bringing this sale over there very soon

I thought the freebies, if any, would come from the seed banks themselves and the place I ordered from did NOT mention this.

Once I read that, my self-control was out the window and I was done!

You gotta get some of that FIRE! I had to as well! Got BCP and Sugar Cane from In House and both times got AJ freebies. Now SC was $250 for 12 beans! I've popped 2 SC and 1 BCP and took a few clones from each so I think the investment is worth it, I don't sell my produce but each ounce I have is $300-$400 that I would have spend and that would last like 2 weeks! As a reminder, I don't smoke much anymore but the GF consumes it at a very quick rate! I'm seriously considering running AJ soon but the list of awesome fems I have is very long. Decisions, decisions.......

EXACTLY! I tend to keep moms and clone the heck out of 'em and, now that I'm looking at breeding, I certainly don't mind dropping some $$$'s on good genetics. One good run pays for itself several times over, even if you're just growing for personal use (which I do, as well!). What are the strains on your short list with the AJ?

Since you're doing the Sugar Cane & BCP now, I think Zurple Punch is a great choice! :cheer:

I was checking out some IG photos of the AJ's, and that looks incredible for when you start some reg's.
Did you see these AJ pics (from another freebie, BTW!)? :yummy::drool::adore: :
