Tales From The Krip!

To me,, the whole trick is reaching in the soup and finding that unicorn,,,,, to you,,, and remember to get a cut,, and run with it,, till the wheels fall off,,,,, grease the hubs and keep going...

But to some there always the search... And I know that too......

I'm pretty sure we maxed the THC levels,, or damn close or honey oil wood drip from the flowers,, ''''without heat and pressure''',, jk.
But 30+% you damn near need a torch. I think alot of the breeding now or of futures are going to be more terpene-based, for smells and tastes and then colors. Pretty and pretty smelling weed is a big plus........ Especially when we really don't always want highest THC levels possible anyways.... So now I think it's just finding that taste you like and going with it...

Now is a big market in seeds as breeders........ But that take huge space and and abit of time for sure with more back than I have left.....

One of the big sale points with pot just like food is bag appeal,, sight, smell, taste, and stone...... but food don't get ya stoned? Does release endorphins tho...

I'm babbling I might ought to get back in before the sun. Damn to late...

I agree, a lot of breeders are going after terpenes now. They're just breeding to keep the masses happy and that's what the masses live for. Most personal growers these days have no clue what Stable or homogeneous genetics even are. It's up to the custies to change the market at this point. For me it's about finding breeders who are working with stable chemovars and ignoring the rest.

If I had to guess, I'd say my first guess was wrong!

It's kinda disappointing because I was gonna run the AJ's & BCJ's together in the next run in the main tent but I have no females and I'm not about to start popping any more seeds, at this point!

One of the two Zephyrus looks female, so I may run that with the Platinum Cake in the main tent and then do a couple of the 79XB's in the small tent.

As with everything else, all plans are subject to change, but those appear to be the current stock of females that have yet to be run.
Yeah, it looks like both the AJ2 and BCJ are males.

Here's the AJ2:

Here's the BCJ:

In this pic of the BCJ, near the bottom of the male flower, you can see what look like pistils, which is why I first thought it was female:

So, for males we have 79XB #4, AJ #1, AJ #2, and BCJ.

For females we have 79XB #1 & 79XB #2

And, still waiting on the two Zephyrys but #2 is looking female and should know for sure in the next day or two.

Man what a sausage fest man! I was hoping for a few more females for you!
Yeah, Bro! It's a great example of why I don't mess with Reg seeds for the main grow, at least not without sexing the plants first.

I did want to get at least one female from the two Apricot Jelly and two Black Cherry Jelly seeds that I could run next round and use for breeding, but only three of the four sprouted and all three ended up male.

I have to imagine it will be some good pollen, especially that AJ that was so damn stinky in veg, so while I did cull them from the breeding cabinet, I still have clones of everything to use later. But, since I did get a 79XB male and promised to gift some pollen of that, I'll start with that one for the breeding project.

It is always nice when plants stink real bad in veg. I find males do it more so than females. Running regs is always a crap shoot. Most of the time when I plant 2 seeds of a strain I will get 1 of each. Some times it happens that both are male or both female, but it still tends to be about 50% one way or the other.

I agree 420%! This is why I never messed with reg seeds until now for the breeding program. And, it's nice having that small cabinet where I can sex and breed the plants as small bonsais.

For a grower that has a single tent and is looking to get some meds, it's crazy to use reg seeds since you can spend 3 months of light, space, nutes, etc. just to find you now have to cull a plant (or more), so you can't finish the grow with a full tent and cant start vegging any replacements until after what's left in the tent is harvested.

IMHO, reg seeds are only for growers looking to breed and/or have more than one grow space. Other than that, it's worth the extra $$$'s to get feminized seeds. ;)

This is so true. I did not buy reg seeds for the longest time. Even having more than one grow space I hated spending the time and effort growing males and not having something for sure to flower out. That was even with clones growing out. After seeing some others find really nice plants in regs though I took the plunge. Dynasty was probably the first reg seeds I bought and then it snowballed lol. At some point in your breeding program you should check Dynasty out and BOG. I need to work on getting more of both breeders gear into rotation.

BOG's Sour Strawberry is a winner. I've had kit grown BOG sour grapes as well and it's a really good night time strain. I've tried Dynasty's Bluniverse but got like 4 males in a row and stopped trying.

I grew the Sour Strawberry for a couple of rounds. It vegged super slow and was not colorful like yours was. I need to revisit my pack and try to find a more vigorous, colorful pheno. I kinda kick myself for not grabbing a pack of Sour Grapes when I grabbed his gear. But I grabbed Sour Strawberry and Sour Bubble so figured one of the packs should not be a sour variety. I have grown out Dynasty's Blue Magoo, Pineapple Fields, Huckleberry Kush and Huckleberry Diesel. The HD threw a bunch of bananas but Sour Diesel crosses are notorious for this. I also grew out one Luvin Cup seed that ended up being male. None of their gear seems to be the most potent, at least not that I have grown, but they all seem to have unique terp profiles and none of them lacked in frost really. I think they could be good plants to use in crosses.

DAY #24 OF 12/12 FOR PKB'S - HERE COME THE TRICHS! :yahoo:
I hope everyone had a great 420 weekend!

Today will be day #24 of 12/12 for the two IHG Platinum Kush Breaths in the small tent and, just as the two other IHG strains I've grown so far, they're looking great and frosting up real early.

Here's a quick pic dump:

They're due for their second CAT drench later today.

Happy Harvests!
