I find, personally, dried and cured is best. But plenty of folk do it with wet.

Although the last batch of Diesel butter I made, smelt like coffee which was nice…the taste could of made a maggot gag.

Anytime brother, the chocolate I find hides the taste well. Probably helps that I have a sweet tooth . I also make a decent batch of canna fudge.

I’ve been noticing the new growth on this girl has been a bit light in colour, more so since the flip..
The last top feed was with the grow part of the nutrients and I’m not sure that there’s enough nitrogen in the mix to see me through.. I say this, as a number of growers in the GSC comparative grow using similar products and Vetsmoke using the same product as I am, have had similar issues.
As I’m in coir, and I most definitely will need extra calmag through this grow, I’ve chosen one that is high in nitrogen as opposed to the mono CaO/MgO I’ve been using which has zero nitrogen. This calmag has 5%+ N
Not sure if that’s the right way to approach the problem, but we’ll give it a go in the name of medical science..
Each week she gets a little booster in the form of..
Canna bio boost @2ml/ltr
Canna bio rhyzotonic 0.5ml/ltr
BioGreen XForce(silica) 0.15ml/ltr

Temps still on the high side in there, but she’s managed thus far so I’m not going to worry too much at the min.

It’s an automatic Co2 release thing..
Remote control no less.. I’ve got it set to spray 3 times every 40 min 24hrs..
I’ve noticed that I have some purpling of the petioles and some purple lines developing on the stems again?? Could it be K as well as the N deficiency.. ???

What do you recon peeps? I seem to get this a lot recently? Could it be heat in this case?

Hey peeps
Hope everyone’s feeling fine
This is what I meant on the last post about looking a little light in the colour department. It was hard to see on the other pics..

Heat still high at 31c
I’m looking at this and to me the leaves look a bit skinny and yellow on the newer growth..
Would that be an indication of lacking something? Or light/heat stress? Or something else?
Lets find out…
I’m not in a panic about anything, as I’ve got plenty of meds to keep me going..I’m pretty sure that we’ll get her green again.. I was hoping for some real quality bud from this girl and a good bit of quality learning to boot I’m not so interested in the overall yield,
I’m not able to diagnose probs yet so what I’ve done is just that..
I added more N by using a calmag with the N at 5+% and K2O @0.5ml/ltr last night.
If we get results it’s a pass.. if not it’s a fail.. hey ho. The extra N will hopefully green the new growth up a bit.. And I’m hoping the extra potassium will help diminish some of the purple stripes and petioles..
why… I’m a pragmatist.. I can talk, read and research all I want, but I won’t get the same from the learning unless I make a few decisions and see what happens I’m reasonably adept at getting strait in with hands dirty, sorting out problems as you go..
Saying that…
It’s probably just the heat leaves look a bit heat / light stressed too I think… there I go again

ok.. it’s not potassium then we’re still purple on the petioles and stems.. Possibly, even more so ..
As you’ll see below, I’ve got the environmental side on the money.. no extreme temps or Rh..

wtf….defo going to move intothe big tent in the very near future. I can’t get it right in this little tent
Can’t see those peaks and troughs doing any good for anyone.
I’ve had a play with cutting off all the foliage Up to the top bud site on half the plant…see what happens ey? I’ve left the other half alone..

Anyways…Below is Pinkman Goo, which was originally started off in the same tent as the CB but was taken outside for a bit of R+R in the sun.. as up to that point.. I’d done my very best to give her a hard time

the Chiquita Banana next to her is riddled with something.. so she won’t be coming in to flower.Goo looking ok though

Oh Yeah… word to the wise..unless you have about £75 a week spare, for replacing co2 canisters, be wary of certain automated products.. remote control or not

Hey @Bud Love I wouldn't worry too much about the purple. I had it on some of my last ones, and I've seen it in other members journals...all healthy plants.

My memory sucks, but my 1st thoughts are ph related when I see the purple like that in the stems. Once I ruled that out, Genetics was what I went with (or pheno?).

I’ve got a few mono nutrients so I thought it’d be a good ways to find out if I could just pop one in if I seen anything looking off..see if the individual nutes had an effect.. it turns out it’s a bit more complex than that though ..
On the ph, y know what.. Today I’ve just cleaned and calibrated both Ec and Ph … and sir, your a winner … Ph meter out by 0.4/5 ..
I could of just asked , but where’s the fun in that

Not much to update..
Sylstar-GL4000 doing a great job.. I’ve turned the power up and she’s getting 65,000 Lux.
Leaves looking on the greener side.

I don’t think she cares too much about the crazy extremes she’s living in? She just gets on with it.. Another great example of good genetics perhaps?

Still plenty of purple about., but other than that, I think she looks ok.considering?

Temps and Rh still crazy, finding it really difficult to get a balance of any sort in the gorilla Shorty… but l’ill Chiquita, she just don’t care
We have 8 colas on this girl 8/10” , I know that this is nothing to you guys , but I’m made up with the light , tent, seeds the nutrients and myself . she looks the bolox for 18 days into flower by my standards anyway.

Is the humidity spike at night? To suck it out, I turn the circulation fan on full blast and the extraction at full tilt. It gets rid of it. It sounds like the next flight to benidorm is taking off in the spare room though.
The temperature differences are not so bad .
I used to use the exact same hygrometer, I used to wake up in the middle of the night and check my readings. Them spend the next 2 hours stressing about the humidity..
That's why I dont use that one anymore. Sometimes it's best not to know

Yeah man… at night.. a little better leaving the door open when lights off..
Turns out, having loads of erb takes the grow worries away..this grow is pure playing and learning, I’ve got nothing else going as it’s been somewhat of a ball ache trying to get everything dialled in with this equipment.. everything except the medium I’m using for the first time … light, nutes, training, tent, watering schedule.
Looking ok so far, already started packing on the trichs..
It’s only what I’ve learned here watching all the different grows.. take a bit of this an a bit if that from all the experts..see if I can get the best out of the space I’ve got here.
Could of taken the easy way( Buds way) and just threw her in the big tent with all the extraction set up.. but no sir.. I like it hard.. I’m going with sunshine in a shoebox on this one

Naaa! the only reason she’s still in there is because she’s packing on the buds and looking good for it all.. if I went with the readings on the equipment and what the ideal grow environment should be, and not how she’s looking ,she’d be well ensconced in the other tent..who knew?

I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that I’d give this light a fair trial, by seeing it through to the end of the job before commenting too much on it..
I’ve had a couple of PM’s with Squiggle en route,as It’s came with its problems. And cost a fair packet and a lot of effort to overcome some of them.. Not really what I was expecting. But not all down to Sylstar.. summer time growing in a UK loft is a real effort environmentally.. and I wouldn’t advise it with a 50w light ..never mind anything with power. This light needs to be in a bigger tent than what I’m running it in. This would certainly help.

However Saying that…I’ve made every effort to get things working as well as I can …I’ve mostly got to thank Squiggle for his advise and input on issues relating to the light , I wasn’t sure what was expected of me.. as I’m totally new to this journaling malarkey and didn’t even know I was sponsored if I’m honest.. thought it was just a cheap light thrown my way to shut me up And as I was only requested to give it a shout on Amazon. I thought no more of it for a bit.
However that being said ,and to be fair…. This light is doing a good job at flowering this Weeds Seeds Express Chiquita Banana..A fookin very good job.
Colas. 12”. With 2 @10”..

I’m a newb so If this light gets the girls singing for me, it’s doing the job it’s supposed to do.. Pretty sure the more experienced growers will get even more out of it..
There is some yellowing of the fan leaves on the side I didn’t defol..
On Some it looks to be perfectly natural necrosis down amongst the bottom tangle. However, 3 of the main colas showing signs as well.
Could something simple like, heat spots in the tent cause this?
My first thoughts were N or MgO deficiency. But is it more likely environmental?Wadayarecon peeps?

It’s a rather pleasant day in the NW.
Hope it’s a good’n for y’all .

This girl is now 22 days into flower.
She was 21 days old yesterday..incase you missed the update.
Im hoping to sort this yellowing of the leaves pretty sharpish.. but I have very little knowledge or experience and so far, my experience with trying to sort stuff out , hasn’t worked. Here’s to trying Now she’s getting a pk boost see what happens
If I don’t burn all the leaves off after my meddling, she’s probably going to yield ok for a 3gal pot.. I was getting max 80g out of a 4gal auto pot last year.. soooo…. I’m gonna hope for that here.

The outside girls have been culled today.. I was planning on putting them both inside the big tent to flower… but they’re too buggy..all sorts crawling on them..that I don’t want up here.. It’s a shame coz Pinkman Goo looks like a nice plant.
Not sure if I want to start up some autos in there next. Or give the PGoo another run… Mmmmm, decisions.
Anyways.. this was she
