SweetSue's Perpetual 3.0 - The Hempy/HB Hybrid Grow

Black Dog is starting to put out some goodies. Sue if all's good and healthy,, try giving her about 9 weeks. Helps with the lite yields she produces.......... Nanna's,,, that's scary.. You going to have afew seeds of all of them. I myself,,, stay away from seed from a hermie male,,, nothing worse that doing a flip and having it all get seeded about 6 weeks or so in...... But when you have them long flowering sativas, they tend to do that close to harvest.

GL and Keepem Green

That was the first I’d heard of cedar oil as a pest control additive Woody. Thanks for that. :hugs:

The puppy is growing more exciting every day. She’s 42 days into flower now, and I leave on the 16th, so she may not make it a full nine weeks, but she’ll be close.

I counted, and the best I can give her is 57 days, so 8 weeks and she has to be pulled.

She’s in soil. If I decide to let her go longer I guess I might get Hash Hound or J to harvest her while I was out of town, but that just too much.

Wanna talk positive......an old fella I know said he was happy he got spidermites on his girl...... I was like oooohhhh nooo.....but he laughed and showed me the pics.....the plant(s) with mites had more resin/thicker Trichomes.....his theory is that the bugs made the plants kick into "DEFENSE MODE" I seen it with my own eyes......same strain.......but the one with bugs was way more sparkly if you will!!! Blessing in disguise? Just interesting view I thought I'd share. Happpyyy Monday Folks, Friends & Neighbors :rollit::volcano-smiley:

I’ve always flirted with stressing the plant to increase trichomes defenses. It used to make me uneasy to abuse them, but I’m learning not to fear. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I just thought I would check as I was on one of my many old man bathroom trips in the middle of the night, and low and behold Sue is up... Then in my baked head I was like " wait it is like 3am"... Huh.... after catching up from Friday . I better understand... I was kinda thinking to myself as I have followed these last few weeks that you had alot of buds, somewhat smaller than when I first started following last year... But yummy looking just the same.... And I am interested in how you are battling the pest issues... Green Days

This group simply gets defoliated as they go. Typically I’d use spinosad, but that’s too much trouble this close to harvest. I’ll let them struggle through, keeping what control I can.

Good morning everyone

I’m off to a late start. Staying up until after three is interfering with normal schedules. Good thing I live unstructured. Lol!

I don’t know if I’ll make it a month with that Miracle Morning routine. I’ve decided I have Miracle Days, and dropping that hour in the morning just isn’t doing it for me. I feel like I’m taking a step backwards. Yesterday, with four plants being processed, tossed a big wrench into that format.

When I’m four days in and already missing a session it’s not a good sign. Think I’ll pull back to my meditation and movement and let the rest of the routine be my day, as it already is. :battingeyelashes:

Rant over. Lol! That morning madness didn’t go as well as I imagined.

I forgot to show you how much the Candy Cane loves her space.

Her predecessor took 55 days, so she’s ahead of the game already. Sometime in the next two weeks she’ll come down.

@Jgrowlove, this is the panel I’m passing on to you. I’ll be keeping it until I get replacements from Dan since I’ll still have two in flower when I leave. Just wanted you to know that so you didn’t worry that I was keeping the light. Lol!

Ok gang, time for me to walk away from the devices and get this day moving. I woke up ready to play with the cosmos. You?

Deliberate joy my friends. There’s the key. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Twice the container size = twice the harvest. That doesn't hold true as you go up in container size, or at least it didn't in my garden. The one-gallon size has given the most consistent results.

Nice Harvest Shiny Finger Sue! There is truth to container (root) size directly affecting yield, but its seldom 1:1

Peace
Keith

It's whatever that particular situation's limiting factor is. If it's lack of root space, great. If it's lack of light or lack of nutrients, it's not going to do much to increase the container size. Well, if you're using really loaded soil then it'd help with a lack of nutrients, I suppose.

Great visit with Sue this afternoon.
I swung by her place for bit after I visited my oldest pal in the hospital dying.
We burnt Malawi:passitleft: and bsed for a bit to take my mind of things
Thanks Sue :green_heart:

I rubbed a nice cola of her hanging plant on the way out,
the aroma took me back to a plant I grew back in the 70's it even had the same structure,,,,mmmmm the 70's!

That is awesome......glad you two could hang out and do a real face to face. (I do realize some of you guys do this often)

I'm blessed to have two members living close by. I grew up in the area Hash Hound lives in, so he tells me stories and I know where he's referring to. That kinda makes our visits more special, but he's great company anyway.

Rolls a mean joint too. :battingeyelashes:

I'm glad I could be there for you Hash Hound. :hugs:

I'll post the harvest update later. She beat an ounce, but just barely. I have no complaints. We still have unused harvest and another plant right behind her.

I'm learning the lesson that tall isn't the way to go in my garden.

Hash Hound, I figured out what I did to the Malawi. I'd been thinking about it since our conversation. The leaves on the top of the plant are suffering burns, there's no denying it, and the only thing they've come in contact with was the Brix foliar.

But most of the lower leaves are fine.

IMG_40098.JPG

The only noticable damage is to the buds sticking out, which would have caught the light. The rest of the lower part of the plant is shaded by the other tent occupants.

I remembered that I'd gotten distracted the morning of the foliar, and she got put back into the tent, still damp, just before the lights kicked on. It was so close that I almost pulled her out to let her dry a bit first, but moved on and forgot about it.

She's paying the the price for my neglect. Next time, which will be tomorrow morning, I'll let her dry before setting her under the lights.

Note to self: give the plants time to dry before lights come on. A fan would have solved the entire problem.
Ahhh the penny drops.

My friend uses this and hit mine with a spray and had same result. In fact this one turned from white pistils growing to brown to finished in 3 weeks. His turn same colour when the sun hits them when wet.

Now I see said the blind and man.

Good morning Besmirched. :hugs: That has to be a whimsical moment to discover your mood matches your username. Lol!

Are you saying your friend uses the kit, or that your friend used a foliar and burnt the leaves under the lights?

That sad specimen was the victim of my not bothering to focus on the particulars of the kit, hence the decision to go all hempy. I grow big, beautiful plants with the kit, but the hempy method is what really makes my heart sing. :battingeyelashes:

:welcome: to the fray. Lol! You’re just in time for the thrill of yet another harvest.

Let the fun begin. :slide:

My husband always said “I see” said the blind man, as he picked up his hammer and saw. :battingeyelashes:

Hers looked a bit like a calcium deficiency to me (semi-mobile nutrient, so would affect the newer growth in all but severe cases), but the eyes aren't what they used to be, so I feared being wrong at the time and didn't post.

Your Dale and my Dad seemed to have much in common.

Haha! Was your father a man of fewer than few words TS? :battingeyelashes:

Can you even imagine all this energy and a man who barely spoke? We were marvelously matched.

Malawi cobs today. WooHoo!

Ok, I’m going back to the harvest. This is going to be challenging. I’m starting a chew of cob following two hits. I’m already pausing and wondering what I’m doing.

I can’t wait to get outside.

@kelticBlue, I couldn’t figure out what delivery I’d missed this morning. Then I remembered. :hugs: I’ll have the tent tomorrow. :kisstwo:

Hey sweet sue! Just realized I gave you my sativa leaning Black D.O.G instead of Lemon Haze.:hmmmm:
It seems to me that I don't have a lemon haze clone anymore. You have black dog #1,#2. Both are super potent tho. I just harvested the sativa leaning one and posted pictures to my journal and thought wait what happened to lemon haze.. I definitely wouldn't mind helping your daughter harvest a plant or two while your gone if need be!!

pretty quick here to there. Happy to help.
I hope it is of some use my little tent.
It had to go, soon. My wife has a one in one out rule. Plus I told her you would give her a special brownie for fun:rofl::laugh::rollit:

My new tent should be up after this weekend. I only have one day off this week. Going to cobble together what I can. Then get serious Tuesday next.

I have 2 250 CFL and a wing reflector To sort out the door yet.

I am suffering from growing withdrawals.
Yikes.

I might try for a photo journal of the tent set up. See how it goes. If there is no tricks probably not. If I screw up maybe so.
Cheers

You have no idea how reassuring it is that I'm not the only one that does this type of stuff. I can't complain J. I love the Black D.O.G.'s stature and fragrance. I'll be happy to grow another, and how sweet to have a sativa-leaning pheno. I'll mark the plant.

That explains why it doesn't look like a Haze. Lol!

I may call on you, but then I may let her go until I get back too. She'll be nice and done by then. :battingeyelashes:

I feel for you. I don't like to be down for very long at all. That 7 weeks I took in 2015-2016 left me gunshy. Lol!

The tent came today. He stopped back a second time and my daughter was sitting on the stoop and signed for it. :yahoo:

Now all I need are lights, and time to get it all switched out. :slide:

Hey..... I had a harvest today. Be right back with the report. :ciao:

HARVEST: Carnival 4.6 (Day 170, flip + 86)

She may have been the longest-lasting Carnival dancer in my gardens. I'll go back and look the numbers up......yep, she went three days longer than the closest follower. :high-five:

Can we say "dense and frosty?" :battingeyelashes:

Yes. Yes we can. :yahoo:

This was a colorful one, wasn't she?

I ended up with a lot of beautiful branches. I'm always impressed with Carnival's ability to produce tight, resin-rich and orderly buds. The branches are always strong and true and the buds snip off with the minimal amount of mess. I don't get much scissor hash with Carnival. I don't trim that close, but they clip off easily.

Easily the most beautiful Carnival I've grown.

Just filled with nanners. It's astounding how many she threw out in the end. I didn't bother to count or collect. I harvested and cobbed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The first of the cobs, all ready to be wrapped. I used the sushi kit, and it was so much easier I chortled the entire time. Lol!

I have 280 grams in the fridge drying low and slow. They'll be done before I leave. I'll give them as long as I can and finish with rice, but I'll have them all jarred before my vacation.

The teeny bits that got accidentally clipped went on the quantum board for an early taste tomorrow or Friday.

I left two branches hanging for the second cob.

They're good-sized, dense buds, so I should get at least what I've already cobbed up, plus a small canary.

In the end I'm coming in around 3 ounces, which is something of a disappointment in 15 gallons of third-run kit soil, under the GROWant GR480. I was expecting over four, to be honest. Having said that, I won't quibble over two Carnival cobs and enough to keep the BIL happy until the next harvest. That harvest seems sooooo far away. Lol!

I cobbed up the Devil's Carnival 1.3 branches I'd left. The chemovar is definately not a big yielder. I'll need to keep that in mind when I schedule production. I'm still trying to figure out demand for this pheno so I can be sure to grow enough. She puts out the most beautiful flowers, but they're twice as fluffy as the Carnival produces.

My last Carnival in soil, at least for this stage of my cultivation experience. My challenge is to replicate the quality of this plant in hempy.

I'll be starting a new genetic line when I get back from vacation. I have one more seed available, so it better sprout. Lol!

Geez..... I love growing Carnival and Dark Devil Auto more than all the rest. It'll be such a joy to have each going at all times from now on. It'll be nice not to be the only one growing.

I think I'll take me out to dinner. :battingeyelashes::green_heart:

That is so awesome to have a bag for the tent. That is the one complaint I have about the mars hydro.....but with its price I can see why it doesn't come with one.

Love the end of that quote.
Foliar and sunshine in dirt. He is on a different path to me and I don't know what he uses most of the time. He is only just starting he growing journey.

Had evidence of discolour you had after brix foliar and light with some of his and saw your photo and it clicked.
