SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

I love these little moments when the universe brings you together with someone like this. It reinforces my belief that we have cosmic forces working on our behalf. Anyone here read about DMT? I did yesterday, and the little bit I read convinced me that there's much more going on in the cosmos than we can see or sense without assistance, and this valuable component is one that your body creates on its own. Someday I'll have to experiment.

DMT.....have read about it alot and watched a lot of Joe Rogan podcasts where he talks about it. As someone who loved LSD (not the strain) as a younger guy, it is immensely appealing to me. If it was more readily available, I would probably give it a shot. Certainly something that will probably remain greatly intriguing to me for many years to come!

Speaking of beards and such, I last cut, trimmed, or shaved in the late 80s.
Hair and beards have a natural length based on age, health, and diet.
My beards used to be about 16" from my chin, but is now 11".
My hair went from lower back to mid back.

I picked up a thin spot on my head sometime around 57 years old. I accept the changes in color and texture, and I beat my genetics on going bald, but the the thinning hair does bother me.

I thought I had something wise and clever to say, but it seems I'm just old and hair deprived. Maybe I should go plant an autoflower.

I never set out to grow the hair or the beard this long. I wasn't able to grow much of anything for the 22 years I was in the Marine Corps and then when I got out, I still kept normal length hair and a beard that was well kept while I was working. Well when I blew out my back, I decided I wasn't going to cut either the hair or the beard until I was healthy and back to work. Well 10+ months later, I could be a stunt double for Jamey Johnson. With the beard over 10", I am not sure how much longer I am willing to go, but I will find out! The beard, when braided (I let me niece braid my beard and hair) is longer than the hair on my head. Next stop.....ZZ TOP!

High TS. This "phototropic" word I've seen you use frequently usually applies to almost all plants. Positive phototropism is a plant that grows toward a light source.

<PALMS FACE TO HIDE EMBARRASSMENT> Yes, and I knew this by the time I'd finished reading my fourth-grade science textbook :rolleyes3 :icon_roll . I don't know when I started using the terminology incorrectly. But, like all bad habits, I did so routinely and without thought.

I believe you're thinking of "photoperiod"

Yes, and photoperiodism. But that one... It's hard for the... My brain looks at that and thinks it's a mangled attempt at a word, instead of an actual word. IDK why. It is a little crispy around the edges, lol, and a Mexican sativa once scooped it out, dropped it into the dirt, and replaced it without blowing the debris off first. Still...

I'm not a spelling or grammar Nazi.

I did notice a distinct lack of "Six veeks... in das kooler!"

'just trying to be helpful.

No worries there, brother. Any time I end up getting schooled about anything, it's helpful. Don't wait so long next time, LMFAO. If you - or anyone else - ever teaches me a thing, and my response is other than appreciative, either someone has "stolen" my account, or else I'm in one of my less savory mental states and need to be medicated, get my arse kicked... or both.

Thanks.

I love reading your stuff BTW.

I once read that an infinite number of (possibly drunken) monkeys, hammering away on typewriters for an infinite amount of time... would eventually produce something of great worth. There's only one of me, of course (what's that? "All the Gods and Goddesses in the multiverse be praised?" QUIET IN THE BACK, YOU!!!). And my time is most definitely finite. But I'm trying to give them a run for their money (err... bananas?) in terms of production, lol. So you might occasionally find something of value hidden amongst all the drivel.

The one remaining plant I kept in a Solo for the Auto Competition

I started to read that one. But... So many threads, lol. There are at least a half-dozen that I'm subscribed to, that I'm anywhere from a couple hundred posts to over a year behind on.

was Red Poison..another Sweet Seeds offering.

I'm guessing it to be related to their Dark Devil Auto. That was one I'd never even considered until I was blessed with the opportunity. Now I'm pretty stoked about it (and this is coming from someone who'd only grown three auto-flowering plants before - and who doesn't really like purple buds).

she didnt do too badly all considered.

The "yield to container size" ratio sure looks good to me. My favorite grows have been ones that were a single plant per space, under/through a screen (scrog), but I've done the sog thing, too. One can be as productive as the other (more or less).

How tall was that one? How much did the fully-manicured and dried bud from it weigh, if you remember? And, seeing as how that plant appears to have stayed within the boundary of its container, how many of those cups could you have fit into your grow space?

Oh, I almost forgot this one: I do not see roots growing from the bottom of the cup. Did they, and you just cut them away at harvest, or was this plant's roots wholly contained within the cup? If the latter, that's great.

the ones I gave up on in the solo hempys and transplanted into 1g nursery pots didnt do as well as this one that I let stay the course.

Do you suppose that is from transplant shock? Or might it have been because of some other variable? You stated that you "gave up on in the Solo hempies," does this mean that they weren't looking as healthy (et cetera) as the one you posted pictures of, above, when you decided to transplant them? IOW, might they just have been crappier plants in general than the one you kept in the cup?

She is still going...about a foot high and very dense. Its a Hempy, so no holes in the bottom...and I havent seen any trying to sneak out the drain,

Actually they all started so well that I didnt want to waste all of them in little cups....Red Poison, Devil Cream, and Bloody Skunk. It could have been transplant or the root hitting the bottom thing...they never got much bigger and started flowering very soon after I transplanted. It was disappointing. :(

I have people yell "ZZ Top" at me about once a month. I frequently wear hats so when my beard was red, I resembled Billy Gibbons. Once, the resemblance got my convertible into a reserved parking space and a nice restaurant in New York.

Since Sue doesn't cut off my head for posting off topic in HER journal ...

I've never bought or grown Autos before, I do have lots of seeds of various origins. I generally have a green thumb (thanks Mom). I decided to remedy that omission, and now have 7 strains of Auto seeds in hand. It seems the vast majority of Autos on the market are Indica or majority Indica hybrids. I did find two mainly Sativa Autos. I have read through many of the Auto threads on 420magazine, and as usual came away with a wide variety of experiences and opinions. That's a blessing and a curse, I just have to try and weed out the disinformation.

On that note ... experienced Auto growers ... Are there any special things I should avoid or include in the Auto grow cycle?

From what I can ascertain from experienced growers threads and journals:

1. It seems best to plant the auto in it's final container size and not upsize the container once or twice
2. Run the light cycle at 18/6 throughout the plants life
3. Feed and water as a regular non Auto plant
4. Generally provide the same environmental conditions as you would for a plant maturing in the Fall timeframe
5. Not prune too much (maybe go for four main colas)

Does any of this ring true, or am I way off base?

Thanks for any input, it's greatly appreciated!

Is there anything off topic on my threads? :laughtwo:

You know I'm a big fan of autos. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

1. Yes, plant in the final container. As AKgramma pointed out, they start blooming when the taproot hits bottom, so plant accordingly.
2. From the mouth of a trained professional cultivator, make that 20/4 lighting.
3. Because they have an accelerated lifespan I tend to go lighter on any nutrients. They like that. :cheesygrinsmiley:
4. Don't change to flowering nutrients as soon as they bloom. Give them another couple weeks.
5. I top at 4-5 nodes and leave it at that. Use LST from that point on.

I recommend arteekay's journals. They're like a handbook on getting consistent yields of 4-6 oz per auto.

It seems the vast majority of Autos on the market are Indica or majority Indica hybrids. I did find two mainly Sativa Autos.
ACE seeds new auto malawi x northern lights is said to be 50% x 50% indica/sativa but has three phenos one of which expresses as pure sativa.
Same 50x50 from Cannabiogen's Auto. I have been looking at the ACE auto for maybe a grow next summer.

Dinafem markets the amnesia xxl auto as sativa dom, pyramid auto nefertiti claims to be sativa dom.

I was looking at sativa dom auto seeds not to long ago and those jumped out at me, and flash auto seed had some. I am trying to get some more sativa dom thru my garden.

G'Luck :ciao:

Weekly Update: Clones and Veg Shelf - Friday, September 8, 2017

IMG_154135.JPG

Theyre just out for a photo op. I won't be checking for roots for another week.

On to the veg shelf.

IMG_154328.JPG

IMG_142042.JPG

UltraDawg 1.1 (Day 68) Her nutrient load at this time is 14 ml of Part A&B and 6 ml of Energy to the gallon. Plugging along in her methodical way.

IMG_142132.JPG

IMG_142243.JPG

IMG_142339.JPG

Chem Dawg (Day 39) Yesterday she got a Brix foliar and an Energy drench. She's adapting well to the severe trim I gave her over the last week.

IMG_142441.JPG

IMG_142639.JPG

IMG_142740.JPG

IMG_142846.JPG

Blue Dream S1 (Day 37) She's now getting 12 ml of A & B and 4 ml of Energy to the gallon. Showing off her stuff today. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_142943.JPG

IMG_143041.JPG

IMG_143139.JPG

New tops coming up. :slide:

IMG_143244.JPG

Lots of new growth beneath them too.

IMG_143347.JPG

Candy Cane 3.1 (Day 21) Still busy growing roots. She's still only getting water. Next time I'll start her on 1/4 strength.

IMG_143445.JPG

IMG_143547.JPG

IMG_143653.JPG

IMG_143742.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2 (Day 44) Two days ago she had plain water and yesterday she got Brixed. She's quickly outgrowing the pot. As soon as I get someone from the tiny closet harvested I can upcan her. Until then she has to live with the crowded root space.

IMG_143843.JPG

Look at how beautiful she is. :dreamy:

IMG_143941.JPG

IMG_144040.JPG

IMG_144142.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.6 (Day 33) She taking her nutes at 3/4 strength, and next time she'll get full strength. She's starting to make a move.

IMG_144245.JPG

IMG_144344.JPG

IMG_144443.JPG

IMG_144540.JPG

Carnival 4.3 (Day 44) Brixed yesterday and given an Energy drench the day before, she's starting to get into a growth spurt that'll require more soil under her. She's up for a larger pot as soon as space affords. She's doing mighty fine up to now. Looking mighty pretty in her tiny pot.

IMG_144640.JPG

I got a little carried away with the camera. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_144741.JPG

IMG_144843.JPG

IMG_144943.JPG

IMG_145039.JPG

IMG_145141.JPG

IMG_145239.JPG

IMG_145344.JPG

IMG_145534.JPG

Dark Slide (Day 66) She got a Brix foliar and an Energy drench yesterday. She's also adapting wonderfully to the trimming.

IMG_145642.JPG

IMG_145735.JPG

IMG_145836.JPG

IMG_145939.JPG

IMG_146035.JPG

IMG_146130.JPG

The two leaders have this sweet bend to them. I may need to trim back one more layer, but I'm hoping I won't need to and she can simply keep filling out.

IMG_146235.JPG

Good, strong branches to support the eventual heavy and dense buds. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_146443.JPG

IMG_146540.JPG

IMG_146640.JPG

IMG_146736.JPG

A tragic mistake. The tip of one branch of the Jamaican was sitting under another pot when I lifted her out from the back

IMG_146837.JPG

I don't think she's gonna miss it. :laughtwo:

Jamaican Bag Seed (Day 61) Yesterday she got a drench of plain water and Brixed.

IMG_148433.JPG

IMG_148537.JPG

IMG_148629.JPG

IMG_148736.JPG

Inner growth is finally beginning to fill in. She's very much a plant from the tropics, with her long arms reaching out for the sun.

IMG_148828.JPG

IMG_148926.JPG

She's beginning to show different leaves. Time to get down to business. :blunt:

IMG_149026.JPG

IMG_149128.JPG

She'll take a bit more training before I'm satisfied. I wish I had a field to grow her in. I'd like to see one unleashed.

IMG_149329.JPG

Devil's Carnival 1.1 (Day 43) I've decided to make her a test case. I'll be feeding her every other watering and doing plain water for the times in between. It's occured to me that I'm feeding them too well. I'll watch her and eventually try another plant if she responds favorably. Cannabis performs best when you keep them at the edge. My plants aren't anywhere near any edge. Lol!

IMG_146928.JPG

IMG_147035.JPG

Another beast in the making.

IMG_147130.JPG

IMG_147236.JPG

I have her wired together to contain her as much as possible.

IMG_147338.JPG

IMG_147432.JPG

IMG_147531.JPG

As I'm working on her the smell from her mother is overpowering.

IMG_147934.JPG

IMG_14801.PNG

IMG_148130.JPG

IMG_1482.PNG

Putting the shelf back together.

First the Jamaican. I think she'll be more comfortable with the edges. There's more room for those long arms of hers.

IMG_149435.JPG

Next, Devil's Carnival 1.1.

IMG_149539.JPG

Dark Slide slips nicely into the side space. That sets the back row.

IMG_149635.JPG

The second row is mostly smaller plants.

IMG_149740.JPG

 Forgot the little one.

IMG_149829.JPG

Blue Dream S1, Chem Dawg, and UltraDawg fill the space. We're definitely at capacity.

IMG_149936.JPG

IMG_150035.JPG

Whew! That's a lot of plants, and we're not done yet. Next up, the tiny closet. But first, I need a buzz and a cup of tea after that. :laughtwo:

Weekly Update: The Tiny Closet - Friday, September 8, 2017

I couldn't stop. :laughtwo:

It's been 19 days since flip. Devil's Carnival is way ahead of Carnival 4.2 in the blooming department, but Carn is getting ready to catch up quickly.

IMG_150129.JPG

I don't remember if I'd shown you all the tumeric growing in this pot. While in Jamaica I visited the home of a local grower. His wife gave me a piece of root stock and told me to stick it in dirt when I got home. I never did and is shriveled up on my refrigerator, but it also sent out a leaf, so I planted it in the pot with Devil's Carnival.

IMG_150243.JPG

I don't know what I'll do with it when I harvest. Likely give it a pot of its own.

IMG_150331.JPG

IMG_150534.JPG

IMG_150635.JPG

IMG_150733.JPG

The light penetration of these COBs are amazing. Thank you Dan. :hugs:

IMG_150845.JPG

On to the girls. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Carnival 4.2 (Day 85, flip + 19) She's now getting 16 ml Parts A & B and 6 ml Bulk per gallon of water. Stacking buds like a proper sativa. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_150935.JPG

Good light penetration down here in the popcorn levels.

IMG_151033.JPG

IMG_151139.JPG

IMG_151230.JPG

IMG_151331.JPG

IMG_151428.JPG

IMG_151539.JPG

I shifted the trunk of Devil's Carnival slightly to the right so she wasn't impinging on Carn's light source so much.

IMG_151835.JPG

Not sure that made much difference.

IMG_151935.JPG

IMG_152039.JPG

Devil's Carnival (Day 99, flip + 19) Brixed yesterday, she's waiting for her next Energy drench. She's not drying out very quickly at all. Probably another couple days. She's heavy with flower.

IMG_152130.JPG

IMG_152241.JPG

IMG_152340.JPG

Pistil change is aggressively underway.

IMG_152543.JPG

Frosty, frosty, frosty. :yahoo: The smell of this girl is unbelievable. Thank God I'm three floors up. Lol!

IMG_152638.JPG

Carnival, on the other hand, has just begun to build trichomes.

IMG_152737.JPG

IMG_152832.JPG

IMG_152936.JPG

Advance guard. :laughtwo:

IMG_153337.JPG

Devil's Carnival is beginning to drop leaves again. She did this just before going into flowering. She'll drop a leaf a day for a time. What a strange quirk.

IMG_153435.JPG

One more update to go. :ciao:

There were things I wanted to say and ask. Then I looked at your update and forgot. Impressive, as usual.

Weekly Update: The Tents - Friday, September 8, 2017

Finish Flowering Tent

The bamboo pole is there just to keep the one branch of CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 out of Thin Mint's space. It's a little tight in there. :laughtwo:

IMG_139031.JPG

IMG_139132.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 (Day 126, flip + 44) She had a Brix foliar yesterday and an Energy drench today. She's starting to get super frosty now.

IMG_137446.JPG

Not as big as the previous plant, but she still has 15-20 more days to go, at least. All this time and I still look at them at this stage and become concerned that they might stall. Lol!

IMG_137546.JPG

This one has some wild pistil hairs. Makes her look wild and unruly. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_137650.JPG

IMG_137750.JPG

IMG_137847.JPG

The color change is becoming more noticable. Still kicking out the white hairs.

IMG_137940.JPG

Thin Mint GSC (Day 95, flip + 57) She's dropping leaves like mad. Smells like chocolate. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_138042.JPG

IMG_138145.JPG

I keep expecting a change to purple buds. If and when that happens I'll expect she'll be close to harvest. She's looking like a longer flowering finish, possibly coming close to the 80 day mark. It's three weeks from that date now, and that's about what she looks like to me.

IMG_138240.JPG

IMG_138337.JPG

Tead told me to expect the sativas to drop the fans as they get closer to harvest. All of these fell off with a touch.

IMG_138437.JPG

Malawi (Day 52, flip + 6) Brixed yesterday with the rest of the HB girls. Just beginning to go a little verticle.

IMG_138545.JPG

IMG_138734.JPG

She's absolutely beautiful to me. :dreamy: I know she's going to try to take over my tent, but she still intrigues me. I'm up to the challenge. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_138835.JPG

IMG_138934.JPG

Early Flowering Tent

IMG_139238.JPG

IMG_139330.JPG

Carnival 4.2 (Day 85, flip + 19) I haven't paid much attention to how much she's been stretching, but I think she's still actively going verticle. Sweet node spacing on this one. I wish I could take credit for it, but it's good genetics. :cheesygrinsmiley: Her feeding regimen is 16 ml of Parts A & B and 1 ml of Energy per gallon of water. I don't think I've ever mentioned that I also add 1 tsp of CaliMagic per gal of water. That's for all the plants in hempy. It's never been necessary for the soil plants. I'm wondering if it's as necessary for the hempy girls, but who do I experiment on?

IMG_139429.JPG

IMG_139533.JPG

IMG_139635.JPG

IMG_139741.JPG

Cotton Candy 3 (Day 57, flip + 21) Yeah...... She looks a little rough right now, but she's a resilient one. That branch with the soft bend was bent over like the other two last night before lights out.

She's being fed 16 ml Parts A & B and 4 ml of Bulk per gallon of water. Next feeding all three of this tent's residents will be on Bulk.

IMG_139831.JPG

IMG_139930.JPG

I've had to wire her together to keep her from Ursuline all of the tent space.

IMG_140836.JPG

IMG_141141.JPG

IMG_140234.JPG

The Bulk is working. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_1403.PNG

Thin Mint GSC 1.1 (Day 57, flip + 16) She's turning into a stunner. Her feed schedule has her up to 16 ml Parts A & B and 1 ml of Energy per gallon of water. These pots're taking 3/4 gallons of water each, every four days like clockwork.

IMG_140435.JPG

IMG_140634.JPG

IMG_140739.JPG

Everyone back in their snug spots.

IMG_141245.JPG

That's the nickle tour my friends. :hugs: I do hope it translated a small portion of the joy they bring me, even in this overcrowded state. I do love showing the beauties off. They seem to want to grow into monster trees. I'm thinking I should have a room to flower in. :laughtwo: A room for vegging would be the ticket. Space to properly train without having to chop would be nice. You should see what Pigeons 420 makes happen with the wealth of space he has for vegging. I'm envious. :battingeyelashes:

I'm gonna get loaded now. I think I've earned it. RoorRip

Its interesting stuff for Sure! I am on a down low with anything besides weed because i had a period (when I was years younger) Where I liked to try a lot.. it was interesting at times, like the dmt and lsd but there are Some Things I would not touch anymore.

Back to the point of Sue.. we do have our guiders and little helpers. There is No luck.. the is Only What you send and receive..

So all the love to everybody who reads This and a big virtual Hug.

Good morning everyone

Lovely frost, and what intriguing bud tops on this Devils Carnival. Gorgeous really.

Your Devil C. has horns :)

:laughtwo: I didn't notice Rad. How delightful. Lol! They are the most unusual buds, aren't they? I have to admit, she's the star of the show at the moment, and the smell......... :dreamy: Lets just say, her perfume stops me in my tracks all day long. It's become mouthwatering. Last night, while closing up I noticed the flowers had taken on a slightly sweeter scent. It may be one of her clues that we're close to the finish.

I hope the flowers are as dense as they look. That's a prodigious amount of oil being produced by this Amazon.

image19733.jpeg

There's a concentration of flowers at the tops, finishing before the lower buds.

image19735.jpeg

The buds are smaller than I was hoping for, but they're covered in frost.

image19734.jpeg

The layer just beneath is starting another push of white hairs. Today she gets an Energy drench, so that may accelerate.

image19732.jpeg

She's looking like a good candidate for a staggered harvest.

I haven't earned it at all but hey, think I'll join you! .

If you're breathing you earned it Amy. :battingeyelashes:

I was raised ultra-conservative Christian Amy. I didn't even try cannabis until I was 22. Lol! That's hard for even me to believe.

And thank you for that delightful compliment. I do my best to always offer a vibration centered on love, joy, and gratitude, regardless of what circumstance I find myself in. Took me many years to get to equanimity, but by God I made it. :laughtwo: Found out life gets more exciting when I truly trust the cosmos to be a delightful place full of opportunity to love more.

So join me, my friends, in another day of unbridled joy and wonder. I love that moment when the eyes open and I giggle with glee that I get a new day to play. :cheesygrinsmiley: Enjoy yours. I'm pretty certain I'll have great fun with mine.

Into the steamy shower with me, and on with what life offers to me. :slide:

catch you later. :ciao:

I find it impossible to feed myself before I feed my plants. :laughtwo:

I've worked up another small process. Keeping up with the water needs of so many plants is a challenge all its own, when you consider the need to use either RO, which I don't have installed, or distilled. My distiller can only produce 2-3 gallons a day, if I get the timing just right. That was the reason I started using the Water Needs sheet to predict what's coming up.

But these plants all get fed at different rates and using different nutrients. What is it about establishing order out of chaos that so appeals to me? :laughtwo: Well, the other day I spontaneously began preparing a short list of what's coming up the next day.

So far it's been a godsend. It's a little crazy the documentation one needs to keep up with to maintain order among such a crowd. A joy to someone like me though. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Finish Flowering Tent

The bamboo pole is there just to keep the one branch of CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 out of Thin Mint's space. It's a little tight in there. :laughtwo:

CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 (Day 126, flip + 44) She had a Brix foliar yesterday and an Energy drench today. She's starting to get super frosty now.

IMG_137446.JPG

Not as big as the previous plant, but she still has 15-20 more days to go, at least. All this time and I still look at them at this stage and become concerned that they might stall. Lol!

This one has some wild pistil hairs. Makes her look wild and unruly. :battingeyelashes:

The color change is becoming more noticable. Still kicking out the white hairs.

Thin Mint GSC (Day 95, flip + 57) She's dropping leaves like mad. Smells like chocolate. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I keep expecting a change to purple buds. If and when that happens I'll expect she'll be close to harvest. She's looking like a longer flowering finish, possibly coming close to the 80 day mark. It's three weeks from that date now, and that's about what she looks like to me.

Tead told me to expect the sativas to drop the fans as they get closer to harvest. All of these fell off with a touch.

Malawi (Day 52, flip + 6) Brixed yesterday with the rest of the HB girls. Just beginning to go a little verticle.

IMG_138734.JPG

She's absolutely beautiful to me. :dreamy: I know she's going to try to take over my tent, but she still intrigues me. I'm up to the challenge. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Cotton Candy 3 (Day 57, flip + 21) Yeah...... She looks a little rough right now, but she's a resilient one. That branch with the soft bend was bent over like the other two last night before lights out.

She's being fed 16 ml Parts A & B and 4 ml of Bulk per gallon of water. Next feeding all three of this tent's residents will be on Bulk.

I've had to wire her together to keep her from Ursuline all of the tent space.

RoorRip

RoorRip

Since last night, I've been pondering your pictures of pipe cleaners to hold branches together.

Before the last 4 months, I never had much of an issue with sprawl and spreading branches, but now I'm getting lots of droopy girls. This way of corraling the branches seems a lot better than tying them together with a circle of string. I'm going to buy me some of those :)
