Well Sue, let's say that I went a bit crazy today. I love being insane. Look at my journal for more info. Link in my signature!

Here we are.. My 1st attempt at Cloning and doing some WAY into Flower just because

Wish em Luck:thumb:

PKclones.jpg

At the end of flowering, it can take 60 days for the reveg to happen. If you flowered for 60 days and then took a clone that took 60 days to hook up, it's seems like one could have used those 4 months to veg any size plant one wanted.

I kind of have the same issue with a clone taken 21 days into flower. Is it really going to be a better plant than a plant with a 21 day or more head start?

Are any of these clones worth the extra hassle compared to a clone taken in veg?

TO BE CLEAR: I don't want to argue back and forth. I think it could be a matter of preference for some, and a matter of plant count for others. When to clone is kind of like how big to grow a plant, it depends on personal preference and external limitations. I understand the attraction to do something a different way - just to see - but for me the novelty wears off pretty quickly.

I finally had some luck (100%) cloning in Vermiculite! I lost all my other clones in soil and in water. But the AK 48 cuttings rooted sometime around day 5 or 6. The roots are 1/4 in long today (day 8). I began acclimating them to normal house humidity, which is around 50% in spite of being cloudy with spots of rain.

I knew something was different when the 8 AK 48's were all perky and reaching for the sky today. I carefully dug one up, and gently tugged on the other 7. All are solidly rooted. I kept them under one 23W CFL, 24/0.

The clones handled several hours without a dome today, but I'm covering for the night. tomorrow, I'll keep the dome off and watch them for any sign of wilting. If they do well for most of the day, they'll get planted in their solo cups. I'm starting them with a 50/50 Vermiculte/soil mix (soil-vermicultie-perlite-sand) plus organic additives. When I up-pot them into their big-girl pots, the soil mix will have less vermiculite, but close enough not to shock the roots.

It has been a long time since I had ANY luck with cloning. The Vermiculite out of the bag was clean and free from fungus, and light enough to let the stems breathe. So this is the trick, for now: use pure vermiculite for cloning inside a DIY dome.

:cheertwo:

Oh, and these cuttings were taken from a revegged mother.

Nice to see that it worked! I also wanted to go into cloning but I only can have 5 plants. Now what I do want to do is breed my own little strain and try to clone the most stable one so that I have 1 mother plant and 4 little clones.

I'm so relieved to hear you've had success, and forgive my absence at your yard. I was actually headed that way last night when I finally forced myself to stop and go to bed. I was really missing you. You must have sensed me. :hugs:

Vermiculite eh? Pure vermiculite? How wet do you keep it? I'm thinking of picking up a small bag and trying it with the produce bags instead of Rapid Rooters. I like the sound of the rapid root growth you got. :goodjob: There's love to hear of this on the LOL cloning thread. :battingeyelashes:

If you need any help cloning that's one thing I can do without losing any I have 100% success rate and multiple different ways to do it from no technology all the way up through Hydroponics

Morning Sue

:hugs:

Did you get any of this yesterday? It's Kosher Kush covered in grinder hash. Mmm mmm Good!

Somehow I missed that Canna. :laughtwo: Thank you so much. And good morning. :hugs:

See? I wasn't aware that the yellowing leaves were a sign of roots developing. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: What a relief. :laughtwo:

I'm like you Rad, in that it'll bore me quickly, but not before I've played enough to find what works best in my space. Nearly frying my first attempts at 14 days into flowering didn't help much on this run, but I'll get another chance with the girl I just flipped.

Incidentally, Tead, it wasn't lost on me that the plants that weathered the assault of excess lumens best were the ones in hempy pots. :battingeyelashes:

I'm looking for the timing that matches my flowering schedules, which have changed with the lighting upgrade. If Dave Groomer wasn't growing his Carnivals so much better than mine I'd probably have never stumbled into this experiment. I have noticed the veg cuttings root faster. If AKGramma's improvement works for me I may have found another piece of my personal cultivation puzzle.

Because, also like you, I'm drawn by the question "What if....?" :battingeyelashes:

Good morning everyone

I pulled the loupe out and went looking, and she's showing no amber trichomes at all yet, and still throwing out the new pistils, so I'll let her ride a little longer. Now I'm interested in how long she will go. :laughtwo:

Time for more bananas. Carn 4 is beginning to catch the blooming ferver produced by the off gasses. :slide:

She's giving off the most delicious scent. :yahoo: If her output rivals that pot of soil sitting next to her I'm going to do some serious rethinking.

Time for some breakfast. Let me leave you with the encouragement to play with the universe today. Fill your day with joyful expression and watch for the delightful miracles the universe brings to your feet to entertain you and keep you in that joyous state of mind that allows your endocannabinoid system the greatest freedom from tension and thereby the clearest signalling in its efforts to spontaneously heal you.

Plus, it feels really, really good, and quite frankly, life is meant to feel good. :battingeyelashes:

Until later my friends. :ciao: :green_heart:

That's a pretty girl! Those pistils sure look close to done.

My first AK47 this year went 51 days from flip to harvest at fully cloudy.
My second AK47 (her clone) is at flip +53.
Half clear on top, full clear on bottom, and one dark amber trichome on top every 300-500 trichomes.

The only thing that really changed is my night time temps are in the 70s instead of the 60s (The difference between March and June.)

(Then again - maybe the fact that I hadn't had home grown bud in 9 months affected my vision  )

I'm hoping the extra time gives her a bit more yummy flavor :)

So it's standard that clones will go longer than mothers? That's encouraging. :slide: This girl is now at 68 days post flip and all previous specimens of the same strain came down around day 53. Right now most of her trichomes are still clear, probably less than 50% are cloudy. It's like she's pushing out fresh trichomes too.

I haven't grown enough from seed to notice/know if there is a difference.

I don't think it matters Scorpio. Show us what happens if you take one later. :cheesygrinsmiley: I remember reading "at 21 days or later."

I took 8 clones at around days 22 and 25 of flower. Seems like all have reverted back to reveg except the last one I took which had issues through out the clone process. They are all showing new growth and the hairs have all but disappeared. They are about 20 days old since I took them (rooted in 7-8 days and transplanted immediately after showing roots). Many of the clones are showing their 2nd or 3rd node of new growth. Now if I could get the blueberry to get her shit together, everything would be perfect LOL.

Im not sure how in the world i got quoted for those pics, but I can't take credit for them. Lol! Am I just seeing a glitch, or is it the benadryl playing tricks on me? Lol!!

Well that's the most intriguing glitch I've witnessed to date. Lol! Bring it to the attention of a mod.

None of that belongs to me. I seriously racked my brain to remember if we have a humidifier like that. We don't. We don't and never have used bananas and their peels in our garden. I don't talk like the person in that post does. So weird. Lol. How do I notify a mod? Report the post? I'm not on the mag, I'm on a different app for ease of use.
