SweetSue's Cannabis Oil Study Hall

Just wanted to pop in and say hello, 17 months Opiod Free now, CCO helped me get the edge off kicking the tolerance issues and acute withdrawl sickness.
Hey Sweet Sue, hope all y'all are well.

helps a lot i know with insomnia too. Well rested is a much healthier state of mind.

Wonderful news Hizzy. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I've been thinking about you lately. Must have felt you coming. Lol! 17 months..... Wow! That went by fast! Someday it'd be nice to see a condensed version of just how you dosed yourself during that withdrawal stage.

The "Well rested" brought a broader smile. :battingeyelashes:

I had a wonderful visit this afternoon with Hash Hound and his lovely GF and I gave her a supply of pain oils and creams to help her survive the cancer scare she's weathering. As we were talking it occured to us that we have a dosing pathway no one to my knowledge has explored.

I use these roller ball applicators for my pain oils now, skipping the wax addition for at least half of what I'm making.

If she rolls some over her lips and licks it off she can micro dose. It's not an exact dose, to be sure, but with cannabis we're looking for that individual sweet spot where the euphoria doesn't interfer with social obligation.

She's volunteered to play around with the concept and report back to me. If this works we have another tool in the healing box. I think I'll make some Carnival oil and give it a try myself. :slide:

Boyfriends may like it too...... ;) .......but tonsil application may be difficult.

The pain you treat, wherever it is..... use more topicals. I give away a lot of roller bottles full of cannabis oil, the blue ones Shed turned me on to, and when I give them away I encourage people to use them every time something goes "ouch!" Cannabis topicals do more than relieve pain. Use them more often. :battingeyelashes::love:
Sue, what recipe are you using for the roll on topical?

A very simple one gram of bud to every ounce of grape seed oil. I double strain through silk when I do oil for the roller applicators. Seems to work well so far.

I use the Instant Pot pressure cooker on high pressure for 110 minutes and then let it cool in the pot for a few hours before opening. Usually I set it up at bedtime and open it before breakfast.

Thanks! Do you have a recommendation if one does not have an Insta-Pot?

Dave Groomer decarbs at 230 degrees for 110 minutes, then adds bud to oil and does another 8 hours to infuse. You'd think that'd convert too much THC to CBN but the reality is it takes much longer to make that happen. When I don't have a pressure cooker I use that standard.

Alternatively, you can set the oil and bud mix into a hot oil bath and simply watch the bubbles, keeping it all at around 230-235 degrees. That'll take about two hours, give or take, but you have to stay close.

If you have time, toss some in the crock pot and leave it on low for about a week or two. You'll be surprised at how potent it becomes.

So many ways to skin a canna cat, eh Mike?

So many ways......

Hey, another question for you (and anyone else). I've got a boatload, well, actually, a large brown paper shopping bag full of resin coated stems. Looking for ideas on what to do with them.

Seems like I read one could chop them up, dump them into a crock pot, cover with oil and cook for a long time. (similar to one of your suggestions above).. Think this would work? Other ideas? Cheers!

I don’t see why that wouldn’t work Mike, though I’ve never done so myself. I’d cook long and low. It’d be nice to get a batch done like that tested, wouldn’t it? Might turn out to be surprisingly effective as a medicine. Lol!

1:15 AM. I finally got the buds ground, mixed with oil, and in the pressure cooker.

The daughter neglected to give me a heads up that she was running low on capsules, so here I am starting the grinding at midnight. Lol!

Now maybe I can go to bed. :battingeyelashes:

RSO is based on a person. Rick Simpson Oil. He treated cancer with it.

Now knowing that, you just need to follow his method of chemical extraction using high concentrated alcohol (grain). Pressing out the rosin will not get everything a solvent extraction will. They will get the same items, just not as much. (Solvent extraction is more efficient).

Sorry, no one answered your question directly the first like.

Replies show up as replies in the Alerts notification, likes show up as likes. If someone replies you'll know, as Bonsai just did for you.

You can turn "like" notifications on and off as well. I turned them off and now only see replies, quotes, and mentions. It's under Alerts, Preferences. Makes for a much less confusing drop-down!
