SweetSue's Cannabis Oil Study Hall

An interesting observation about scalp psoriasis and the medicated baths. Without thinking it through I mixed up a batch of bath salts using the olive oil infusion. Thankfully it was the reclaimed batch, because when I climbed into the medicated water bells went off that I ignored.

You see, scalp psoriasis, any psoriasis really, will react adversely to fatty acids that contain more than a dozen chains. I knew this, and I still soaked in the bath for half and hour, because I didn't want to waste the effort.

I showered immediately and washed my hair, but that wasn't enough to stop the flare up on the backs of my ears and in certain points of the scalp. The ears in particular took to oozing yesterday. Last night I used the coconut oil bath salts and the problem stopped right there. Today I'm back to healing mode again. Scaling is reduced by better than 50% at this point and I'm much less likely to pick at it. This change in compulsive behavior may be the magnesium at play. Hadn't thought of that until just this minute. :hmmmm:

I've a practice of soaking late at night and not washing the hair until morning, and then quickly, just enough to get the oil free from the hair itself, trying not to disturb the scalp as much as possible.

I'm beginning to have hopes that I may finally get this behind me. It's been over 20 years guys. I'm getting tearful here that this may be all it takes.

All of my skin is so happy I chose this therapeutic approach. I don't think my skin has ever looked this healthy and glowing.

Truly psoriasis is a manifestation of intestinal disorder. When your intestines are at full power and health the psoriasis will recede. Sadly the times when I was psoriasis symptom free it was on a vegetarian diet (I love meat!!!)

I believe in the "leaky gut" origin of psoriasis. Toxins normally kept in the large intestine are able to make their way to the bloodstream due to inefficient barriers in an unhealthy digestive system. This toxicity manifests itself in the skin as we try to eliminate them.

Healthy gut healthy skin. This is one of the reasons why I am taking the caps now. I want to increase my digestive health and skin health. If the salts help the symptoms that's so great. Keep at it and do what you can also for your gut. (Which of course you are ).

Thank you. Interesting how we can ignore the evidence right before us, isn't it? I read that and thought "suppositories Susan, on a regular schedule." I'll be cleaning up my food choices list too. I've managed to eliminate most meat and dairy, and that's having a noticable effect. Meat and my system don't really get along anymore, which is alright with me up to the point where I'll kill you for a cheeseburger. :laughtwo:

Some of the things that can trigger my psoriasis are red meat, shellfish, members of the nightshade family, and basically anything fun.

Well boo on the "anything fun" part. Find ways around it. :laughtwo: I believe in the impossible, and I'm always looking for ways to make something impossible happen. Lol! Imagine living with that kind of energy. :battingeyelashes:

I'd like to help a friend that has a child with "Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and oppositional defiance disorder." Any idea where I can go to see if cannabis might benefit this family?
Thanks

Hey Buddy!!! Here as a start. I recent article from USA Today about what they are doing in Israel. Marijuana may be a miracle treatment for children with autism. Also here is something. 420autism, Managing Autism with Cannabis.

Hope this is a start for you. :circle-of-love::peace:

Thanks Dave, I had not seen this site. Most everything I Google is negative, but I'm just not buying that. Summer break is right around the corner and I'd like to be able to help come up with a plan for this family.

I saw a TV show about treating autism symptoms with CBD oils in spray form. It was in the USA also. I forget what state but a doctor says there seems to be a link, but does not advise using it :(

I'm wanting to make some canna caps for my grandparents, who refuse to vape/smoke/and even have trouble with edibles due to health issues. Can someone guide me to a simple recipe? I noticed one on leafly, but they only used coconut oil and soy lecithin, I see a lot of y'all using others ingredients. Thanks in advance!

The link Dave shared with you is for capsules using concentrated cannabis oil. For the most potent infused oil try this link Lonestar.

Fresh Harvest Infused Cannabis Oil

The choice of the carrier is determined by what you're using it for. We recommend coconut for recreational or for treating liver cancer, and olive oil for just about everything else. The liquid sunflower lecithin we use with our formulations gives the mix an additional kick to the therapeutic value. When using the fresh harvest oil for patients new to cannabis start with the smaller size 00 capsules so they're not overwhelmed.

I'd recommend a balanced ratio or one with twice the CBD values to THC. With age comes the complications of decades of inflammatory response. The CBD will potentiate the pain relieving powers of the THC and get to work on relieving the inflammation. A nice double whammy. :battingeyelashes:

Lonestar, if they're new to cannabis you want to follow a particular protocol when introducing a new ECS to phytocannabinoids. There's a thread on dosing guidelines. You'll find the link in my signature line. I highly recommend you take a read through.

I'm looking into the same thing. I've been cautious because this isn't the sort of thing I'd want to treat without a therapist on board to make sure we have her correctly evaluated and due to complexity of treating a developing brain. Considering the low doses required and the pain my daughter is experiencing I'm starting to move a little faster on this. Thanks for the links. I'll take those along when I find a decent child therapist that isn't booked through forever.

:helpsmilie: I'd like to ask for help in deciding what stain to start growing for leukemia, in a patient who doesn't want psychoactive effects. :Namaste:

I'll try and take a deeper look into it, just took a quick glance over your notes. I was thinking a small dosing would be something along the lines of 7g dried herb in about 1/2 cup coconut oil dispersed into about 50 00 caps? This is the original recipe I found, then I stumbled upon your post .

Hi dynamo! Also check this thread: A Base Treatment Regimen for Cancer

If you use tacking and suppositories with the supplements listed in base regimen there will be very little psycho-activity even with high THC strains. Works even better with 3:1 THC to CBD ratio. It's not so much a specific strain as just getting enough THC and CBD. Read the 1st post on that link a couple times, first 5 pages even, then post there and we'll work out the details.

And welcome!

7 grams to a half cup will make a decent load. You might want to start with a half dose. Just fill the capsules halfway for the first few days then ramp it up. Get liquid sunflower lecithin instead of soy. It makes a big difference, and use a tablespoon of it. I always use a tablespoon unless it's less than a half cup.

I'm off to walk with friends. Leave any questions and I'll catch up later. :battingeyelashes:
