SweetLeef's Gone Muy Loco! Tijuana EbbnFlow - 4 Autos in Supersoil

You might be able to get rid of the control reservoir totally by hooking the return pump to your outer pot. This would require a separate timer and would be tricky.

I don't have an outer pot on my auto and the Obama's final pot will be the whole bucket as well.

So if I had two digital timers, so the could start a minute or two after one another, then it might look something like this?

if so, I really don't have much to change and that'll be quite easy to do :)

I do think that will work, but its likely to be temperamental. You will have to get the timing between the two pumps just right. Probably run the fill pump until the pot is half full and then start the return pump. If the timings right the return pump should stop before it losses prime.

This would be the perfect application for a digital timer that is based on real time rather than elapsed time.

I found a part, if used properly it could solve your problems. Its a magnetic level switch. Its what used in my system. It could be used as a safeguard to maintain a reservoir level if you were to use a control res.

Switch

Instead of another timer you could use this. Hook it up to the It would keep the control reservoir return pump from turning on if the resv. level is too low. You set that level so it will always have them minimum level for the pump. So as long as the fill pump is running it will cause the overflow to go to the control reservoir it will trigger the switch to turn on your return pump, and when the fill pump stops, the return pump will keep pumping until the control reservoir empties to its safe level. That would be fool proof.

Like this again excuse my crude drawing:

You also now have the added advantage of being able to set your drain level to the absolute minimum.

Looking real good Sweetleef, it will be fun to see how you DIY your new setup.

Hey Sweet, long time no chat! I was just going over your journal and your plans for a multiflow DIY. If I'm understanding correctly, you are trying to convert your flood system to a top feed deployment. If that's the case, is their any way you can place your plants above your sump? If so, you can completely avoid synchronizing two pumps on two set timers.

Great advice AfricanGrower. :Namaste:

Thanks, but I realized an example would be best to help visualize what I am talking about.

Below is a rough sketch of my setup of a top-feed recirculating system using 2 CApn Style buckets and one $30 pump. The 22 gallon reservoir sits outside the grow tent for easier maintenance during 'lights off' periods.

Now this is a sketch of what I am converting that system into.

Note that I removed all unnecessary tubing while sacrificing the convenience of an isolated reservoir. Looking at it in perspective, this system has less points of failure that my previous, which goes back to my #1 goal: SIMPLICITY:)

The second pump and a control unit will give you much better flow at the end of the day, but I have helped and advised growers who have used similar controller E&F systems that were store bought; and almost every one of them failed at some point or another. MY advise, less parts in a system = less chance for things to go wrong. :hippy:

AG, the whole reason I have been toying with the idea of a multiflow system is because my autoflower got too tall and was hoping to be able to bring it down. I super cropped her and now I'm not as worried about the height. Not sure I'll go multiflow, as there definitely is more that can fail, I'll probably stay the course. Still, it would be fun to try!

Keyboard still sucks. Haven't gotten to rodeo shack.

So..........

Princess Savina is coming down next week or the week after. I think. It could be a third week, but I don't think she'll be that long now.

My question is, what should I do in the meantime? Molasses, no molasses? Feed Beni tea one more time? Flush? Let her dry in the pot as much as possible? What about removing fan leaves? Should I wait until I harvest, or could I get away with removing them now, letting her buds get tons of light for the last two weeks.

Keep in mind:

Auto Flower grown in super soil no nutes. Just water, Beni tea, and one feeding of molasses water.

More mollases more tea

Thanks dude!

Phones been out of commission for a while. It'll be back Tuesday. I will call you then. In the meantime, start a grow journal so I can post these pics of your awesome plants somewhere for you :)

Go to "grow journals" and click on start a new thread, then I will post your pics for you
