Sweet Leaf's First Grow: WW Auto

You'll be on that for a couple of weeks maybe less. I know it may be a pain in the ass but daily pics will help in teaching you when to increase. If you go a week without posting then maybe I missed out on when to tell you to increase.
It's about listening to the plants so when the green looks lighter on the older lower growth compared to the upper growth it's a good sign to increase.
Checking the leaves closely on the bottom ones for signs of early Mg def is another key sign to increase.
Ok i could post daily pics it wouldn't be a problem. Will i start to notice a jump in growth now that im adding to mc?

You should if the watering cycle is good... in otherwords too much waterering slows the growth. Typically a plant will droop when it wants water. Once watered the plant will be perkier within 12-24 hours. After that the next feeding shouldn't happen until the plant starts to droop again.

Right now they are still getting their feet planted so about a week and things should take off.

Ok, doesn't sound to difficult. Hopefully i can get a good system down and detect the signs. Im looking forward to it i will keep it posted. Thanks for all the help!!!

Looking a little plump after yesterday’s first feeding

Good morning Sweet!

Plants look great! You can see the new growth is lighter in color than the lower older growth. This shows that the plant is growing faster now. If the lower darker green starts to lighten up a bit then you increase your MC by 1/2 gram. Another sign is when you see the new growth come out the same color as the old growth you're about ready to increase the dosage.
Thanks for the pics. It really helps me help you. :)

Good morning MrSauga!!
Ok Awesome thank you for the quick feedback. I will keep an eye on the lower fan leaves. I could totally see a slight difference after watering yesterday the ladies perked up more. I think ive been keeping them right inbetween of being slightly thirsty and full. I never really have see them droop. Should i wait until i see more of a droop going on?

If the pics are an accurate representation of the watering of the plant(I can see more around the stem as opposed to around the pot edges) then you'll need to bring the watering out to the edges. You want the roots to start working out and by watering around the stem the roots are trying to stay in the center.

Now you should be doing a wet/dry cycle where the pot is filled to a slight runoff and not watered again for around 3-4 days.
Next time start watering from the outside working your way into the center, one quart/liter at a time, slowly.

Feel the weight of the pot once you finished watering. It will feel heavy. When it's time to water that pot will feel like you just ate a bunch of spinach because it should be sooo much easier to lift.

Ok i will give that a try. Im afraid to over water so starting at a liter is scary because all i been doing is turkey basters full lol but i get the idea. So when you get run off do you just lift the pot after watering and wait until you see water run out?

:passitleft:Looking good sweets
Love me some ww as well.
Ive got a handfull of auto ww's that I grow every other strain. It helps my wife when she smokes it more so than most other strains.
Got some good help and allready off to a good start.

Thank you OOTD!! Yes I do its been a very pleasant start. Thats good to hear. When i was a teen my neighbor next door was growing a single weed plant in the backyard. Now idk what type of plant it was but i for some reason thought it was ww lol. So ever since then i have had a thing for it. Takes me back to some good childhood memories.

I was just looking back. Did you end up using the 3gal fabric pots or go up to 5gal?

Im using the 3 gallon pots
So I use 5 gal pots and it takes 4 quarts of water before I start to see runoff if the medium was dry. I would think you'll probably use 2 quarts and in this case I would water at half quarts untl it's all done.
I'd start with one pot with 1/2 quart of water and wet the whole surface. Then do the same to the remaining pots.
Once done go back to the first pot and use another half quart around the outside perimeter of the pot. Do this for the remaining pots again. Take a break and find something to do for an hour or so and grab another half quart of water and again pour it around the perimeter. You may start to see some runoff now. If so, stop and continue with the other plants in the same way. Take another half break and then finally add another half quart around the stem of the plant working out but not as far as the perimeter you just did.
You may find you don't need that much time in between, but the break between quarts of water allows more of the medium to absorb the moisture. As the medium gets moist the water is less likely to blow past through to the bottom.

The key is slow and steady. It's patience at it's finest and it's hard not to start just dumping water in. Too fast and the medium doesn't soak in the nutrients and you're basically just wasting money and not providing enough nutrients available for the plant.

It's easier in 5 gallon pots since you have more area to work with when watering but the principles are the same. It could take more or less water than I said as I've not used 3 gallon pots before.

Ok so by that i know im definitely under watering if anything. So by soaking the soil all the nutrients from the mc gets in throughout, ok this makes sense lol. Well i can tell they ladies are getting droopy already so i will be doing this very soon probably tomorrow morning. Im a little nervous but hopefully things will be good.

Alright, major watering/feeding done lol i didn't end up using the full 2 quarts for each plant. They got a little less before i started seeing run off. So, i should be good now for 3-4 days? Also, i took a few pics and one girl i found some white hairs, not sure if thats normal for this stage or to soon.

The 3-4 days was based on a 5 gal pot so it could be less. Did you happen to feel the pot weight before you watered? And again after you watered? No biggie if you didn't but this helps gauge when it's time to water again.

Autos change when they are ready. Could be stress that makes them flower early but anytime after 21 days and an auto may throw out pistils.
