Swaggs Great Canadian Adventure: Diving into DWC

Another week in the tent. Things are moving along...slower then I'd like but as long as they're green and alive, I'm happy. Had some issues with the beans I popped too. Think they got too cold or something. Ended up popping some more so we shall see who makes it in eventually.

Raspberry boogie.

For some reason they didn't load in order. Sorry. Slightly increased the light intensity and lowered it a tad. Ppm and ph 550 ish and 5.9 ish

A little early to call these midweek photos but after some more tie down adjustments this afternoon, I took a bunch of pics that I thought I'd share. I can't get enough of training. I just love it.

Before we get to the pics, something happened the other day. I roll one up then head out the door to run some errands. I've been known to enjoy cruising while lighting one up. I know it may not be popular and I'm not promoting it, but that was my intention none the less. First stop, gas station. While waiting for gas I pulled my lighter out and just burnt the tip. Kinda just bored sitting in the line up sorta thing. I get my gas and as I'm pulling out of the lot, I spark it up. It didn't even light up properly cuz I had to pull out of the lot so just a bit of the end touched the lighter. I make a right turn at the lights and shabam, flashing lights behind me. Oh no. What do I do. I'm in Canada so marijuana is legal but smoking and driving is definitely not. Or driving under the influence for that matter. So I made sure it was out even tho it never actually got lit and stuck it on the center console. Cop comes to the window and tells me he pulled me over for expired registration. Fuck. That thing that I've been putting for about 2 months. Finally caught up to me. He asked me why he smells burnt marijuana. I dunno why. I smoked earlier. Maybe it's from my coat. Do you have any in the car? Well yes actually i do. He asks for my joint. I hand it over and he examines it, obviously never seen such immaculate quality cannabis in his life but I'm not judging. He kept asking about the weed smell I just played dumb. He goes and comes back with a hefty damn ticket for the registration. My oh my do not let that expire. After he gave me the ticket, he also handed me back my J and told me it should be stored in the trunk etc etc like you would store a 6 pack he said. So I granted his wish and tossed it in my trunk, watched drive away and got it back and drove straight home. Got my silly registration the following day.

Well that turned out to be longer then I wanted. Sorry. Enjoy the pics.

Go mounties go :ganjamon:
Yea no kidding. I thought he took it to his car with him but when he handed it back to me he told me it might be wet cuz he had just left it on the top of my car....on a cold winter night with ice and snow on my car. Thank god it didn't get wet though.

Plants look great!
And waaaaaa???!!! Crazy!
Thanks and yup. This was a week ago I think. Like a min from ur place at the corner by the McD's. Ughhhh. It's a hefty fine let me tell u. Sheesh. But I had to share for the cool little J tid bit. Thank you for giving me back my marijuana officer. Have a great evening

New day, new year, new vibes. Hope everyone had a safe a memorable holidays. Little bit of an update, good and bad news.

The bad: temps are still running away on me if I don't toss Ice packs in daily and the roots once again are letting me know they don't like the temps. Reason I wanted to do DWC in the first place was to be able to let things be for days at a time so since I can't do that without the water temps getting too high, I've decided to set aside the DWC idea for the time being. Till I have better space and can dedicate ice pack time daily for the whole grow, which I can't do now.

The good: I never give up. Adapt, adjust and execute.pink kush, as tiny as she is just does not want to die. It's literally the same exact size from weeks ago and has one single long strand of root that actually searched far and wide for water. Cuz that buckets water level is much lower. The rest of them are still alive and doing okay. Still having stress issues and slow growth just from all the issues I've had thus far.

So, the plan now is to just transplant them onto air pots and in coco. 3 gal pots for all. I purchased a water pump and just need a couple of fittings. I'll have a bucket with the nutrients in it and the water pump on a timer, hoses and a watering ring sort of thing and see how that goes. I really want to keep a DWC bucket but the whole temp thing is something that I may not be able to give the necessary attention to for the entire grow cycle due to life, work, etc etc. So this was the next thing that I came up with.

Sorry to all of you who were looking to see a successful DWC grow. Unfortunately, things changed and I had to make these adjustments in order to keep my grow growing. Will post pics soon of the new setup.

Hey ! Sorry just found this thread but I've learned minimum 2 air stones in each bucket . Maybe the increased water circulation may have helped with the temps? But if it's an environmental thing ..maybe move the tent to a basement ? My house temp is set at 65 and my tent sits literally underneath a vent and I've never had a bucket higher than 67degrees...hope you try Dwc again soon.. But it sounds like an rdwc might be easier if you don't want to do daily checks ? Thanks for the read ! :)

I checked the ph and it went up so I just added a bit more ph down. Not sure if that's normal or if my initial pH level check when I was mixing was off. I find when I'm mixing a new batch, the ph reader is mighty slow. Could be cuz it's in cold water but who knows. I'll keep an eye on it tho to see if there's some pattern so I can adjust early. Pink kush still needs to grab a gear but the others are doing very well. I can't say I remember how fast they grew in coco but I have a feeling they're growing a bit faster. But that could be my eagerness and excitement to just get back into things.

Sorry Jumping in pretty late, and I havent even finished reading the thread, but I thought I would share this graphic. It was shared with me by @IslandGrow420 .

Hahahaha wowy! I feel less scared of being pulled over after that story!! Lol back to smoking in the jeep :D
I wouldn't recommend it unless it's a long highway trip.

Hey welcome aboard. I'll definitely be giving DWC another go in the near future. Just gotta make sure I can manage the temps better and I'll be golden. Thanks alot for the feedback.

Hey welcome. It's never too late. With my rocky start, no one has missed a beat yet. Thanks for the chart. Someone else also posted it a few pages back when all my struggles were in full force. Lol. Hope u enjoy ur stay here.

Update time. Everything is going well in the tent. I'd say they've all adjusted nicely into their new coco homes. Training is in full effect and as of now, the raspberry boogie being a female is looking promising, however that could change and if it does, still all good.

Gorilla cookies is growing noticeably faster then the rest. Really have a good feeling about her.

Raspberry boogie isn't too far behind and also coming along very nicely and taking all the training I'm giving. Normally adjust the tie downs every other day.

Northern high lights. Always was a straggler from the very beginning. Both seeds I popped so maybe a lower grade batch I got. I don't know but she's staying around and will give whatever she gives.

Ppms are around 500-550 ish ph 5.8. Temps are cozy, Rh a bit on the low side but they don't seem to mind too much. I lowered the light and turned it up a bit. They love it.

Some new additions that will just have to catch up as best they can before it's time to flip. I've got 3 strains on deck and will likely just let them grow without topping or much training. Just depends how far along the 3 bigger plants are. Hoping they hurry up cuz I already wanna get flipping. Been outta the game for what seems forever and just need my fix of watching buds form and grow. The colours, the frost, the aromas. I can't wait.

Here we have a couple 8 ball kush's on deck. Just stuck them right in thier final homes. I wouldn't normally do this so early on but I gotta do what I gotta do.

Also have a couple or gorilla glue on deck. One still in a rooting cube and the other already got put into her final home.

Finally we have a Blue dream which I'm very excited about growing.

Just been giving them water with root booster mixed in. Today I added a very small amount of nutes. Grow baby grow.

And ofcourse the new babies around the edges trying to convince the others to slow down so they can catch up.
