Sunni - a Pheno? Clone

I thought the leaves looked like they're having a deficiency too.... or can gnats do that on their own?

I've had good luck with Ironite Mineral Supplement. It has all the micros except magnesium, which the epsom salts have covered.

How are the babies doing?

Good luck Tmac!

The gnats indirectly cause the deficeincy by there larva feeding on the fine hairs of the roots inhibiting nutrient uptake therefore the plant becomes unable to feed itself properly I have read that when dealing with them besides the DE covering the top layer of soil foiliar feeding with a 10% strength of normal nutes will also help them to recover more quickly as nutrients applied by foliar means reach every cell in the plant within 60 minutes.

Also when using De you need to clear a large area away on top where your going to water and water slowly so the rest of the De doesnt get soaked it takes a long as time using 1 gal jug with pump take about 25minutes to water a 3gal pot.

I actually spoon out as much DE as I can. Then vacuum the rest out. I also microwave (TO KILL ANY SUCKERS THAT THOUGHT THEY WOULD LIVE) the old DE and then let it dry and can reuse it!! Very few gnats found today.... bought the thuricide but did not apply it yet. Just scraped, vacuumed and watered yesterday. Also used neem and some dunks soaked in water, so wanted to give it another day.

Here are some photos of Sassy! Still hanging on with all her strength! Bugs are not gonna get her down!

A little preview of Baby Kushes (not a very good photo)

Anyone ever transplant a larger plant? I am thinkin I would like to pull her out of the bucket and examine her roots. Maybe soak them to kill any larva. Already saw a couple gnats this morning. Is this a bad idea???

This should be an extreme last resort. Especially in flowering. Your yield and quality can suffer greatly from being shocked that much. The plant will stop developing the buds to fix any damage that may have occurred. If you do get to this point, just be prepared that you may lose her.

:goodluck: Tmac! Gnat killing vibes being sent your way!! :tokin:

Well yesterday I dug all the DE off the soil and vacuumed again. Wanting to get air to the soil, I took a piece of nylon and draped it over the top of the bucket and got it as tight around the stem as I thought safe. Also put some dirt in a small container and wet it good. Just incase some are out flying at this time. Figured they may be drawn to the wet container. Checked this morning saw no gnats under the nylon. But just went up and checked again and there were 3 gnats flying under the nylon. I was able to squish all 3. I will be doing that every so many hours.

Also removed quite a few large yellow leaves that were blocking lite.

Look for small insects on the surface of the soil. They will be active when you water or move the plant. The larvae are 1/4 inch white-bodied maggots with black heads and can be found just under the surface of the soil.

2Keep plants clean of fallen leaves and debris. Fungus gnats feed on dead plant material.

3Plant pots of wheat to lure fungus gnats, then compost the soil and the wheat once the female fungus gnats have laid their eggs in the pots. This technique works well in greenhouses or greenhouse windows.

4Use yellow sticky traps placed near the infested plant to catch adult fungus gnats.

5Water with a solution of Bacillus thuringiensis, an organic control for caterpillars, to kill insect larvae. Bacillus thuringiensis (or Bt) is a bacteria and is safe to use around children and pets.

6Drench the soil with a solution of pyrethrin, an organic pesticide made from chrysanthemums

I just asked you on your thread if I can do this!!! YEAHHHHHH :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Hey HH keep your fingers crossed for me. I am still fighting em!

Yeah Bluedog, it has been a rough one so far. Cant let them win or my Kush babies will get them to. Thankfully they are sort of isolated as much as I can do that. But worry about them. Only takes one gnat to get in that room! I am not finished yet~~

Thanks for coming by!

Hey Tmac, just got caught up on your journal. :welldone:

Hopefully you can get those damn gnats under control, that must be annoying as all hell..

I see that you are using a pest strip and was wondering if you are using the sticky tape, or the Hotshot No Pest Strip? If you haven't tried the No Pest Strip, I would grab a couple and see if they help. Lots of people love em, and I personally haven't had anything crawling or buzzing around my room at all while using one.

Glad you stopped by Marley! I have tried both sticky sheets, and the Hotshot No Pest Strip. Caught a bunch with the sticky sheets but not enough. Just got back from the store and have hit them with perethem (sp) . This has got to do it, it maybe to late for Sassy to come back from. Hoping not though, hoping she will start to heal.

If they mess with the Kushies the gloves come off. I'll fly out there and enlist in your army.

:headbang::headbang::headbang: My kushies have gnatssssssssssssssss!! I have them soaking as we speak is some of the perethin stuff. It was either in the soil... or they flew up from the basement. There is a straight duct for the heat of the wood stove to go that room. It is now sealed. I have some plants down stairs that got transplanted with some soil from the shed and I saw and treated gnats yesterday.
