If only this weather would kill off those freakin' fire ants!
I dont know what I hate more...Ice outside or those ants from Hell.... Probably The Ants ;)

Thankfully where I currently live has no fire ants!! Give it time and I am sure they will get up here though. :wood: Hopefully they dont like snow, we get a lot here. We're at 3200 ft, a totally different climate than down in town. They take care of the road here pretty well. Dont go out on the ice if you dont have to!

We dug out from about 13" here at my place. Took two of us 3 hours to shovel just the driveway and back garage entrance!

Better that than those damned fire ants.

:thedoubletake:Wow 13" is a lot of snow, especially if you have to move it!! Do they clear the roads good there?

Hell yes, MI crews are alomst as good as the ones in Chicago! :high-five:

it's been between 2 and 18 here. I'm glad I'm disabled, I'd really hate to have to go to work in this weather! In my early 20's I worked in the oilfield out of Rangely, Colorado. -60 with the windchill up 60 feet in a derrick running pipe in and out of the ground makes for an early retirement! That was one tough job to do (floorhand or derrickhand) especially in the winter up there. We used to laugh at everybody in Denver crashing their cars in the storm, we would go out on the highway and pull people out on the weekends for fun.

That is way to cold! :thedoubletake: We got down to 8 once a few weeks back but it came up as the sun came out. Hope you warm up soon! This has been a crazy winter so far everywhere. Cant even imagine going outside when it is -60  It is about 27 here right now. Keep some logs on the fire and cuddle up in bed!!

In the first 10 months on the job I made more than my mom and dad put together after 20-30 years at the same employer! Did really good up until 1986 when the oilfield shut down (they re-did the wells to CO2 injection, less work, less employees).

Started out at 7.56 an hour. worked dark till dark monday thru saturday all year except winter, then it was dark to dark monday thru friday!

You got to be made of some tough stuff to work those kind of conditions. Cant even imagine.

I used to think I was superman at 165 lbs soaking wet back then. Not only the environment, try manhandling an 8,000 lb stick of drill pipe into a set of elevators in the middle of a white-out , quite a trick!

"Ridin the storm out" comes to mind, a little reo speedwagon anybody?:tokin:

Thats why I smoke so much now. I'm 47 and worn out!

Thanks Sonzor, trying my best here. Applied the DM Reverse 1-31 . Also have trimmed a lot of fan leaves, they were so full, could not get much light on the interior, as well as I could not see balls for removal. Checked today and only find 2 balls.

Hey Tmac, just saw the He/she's... I really thought you'd never get all the balls, but looks like you're proving me wrong. That's really great and they look like they'll give you a nice reward for paying such close attention.

I was on the roof today, had no choice! One of my grow's had been cut just short of finishing because a tree took a nap on the roof. The wife has been staying at her work, so I had to do the shoveling. There was about 22" of snow up there.

:thedoubletake: Dam that is some snow~ were you able to get the tree off? Did it go thru the roof? Look at the size of those icycles!! :yikes: That is an incredible photo! I agree with Bandit, I would move south :smokin:, a little snow is fine....but that does not qualify as little

Thanks SS I worry coz I am handling them so much. You really have to get a hold of them and move little leaves to check for balls. Gonna check again tomorrow and maybe reapply the DM Reverse.

Sorry to see all the work you have to do to keep em female, but hey seems like it just may work. Prayin to the Canna-gods for you.

Thanks for the prayers Butcher, I need all I can get, one thing after another it seems. But I will keep at it with these ?girls? as long as I can. I do know there will be some seed. I doubt that I have gotten to all of them in time. But then I will have some seed as well.

I hear you on the worn out thing - I was way too hard on my body when I was younger. Never knew the meaning of "can't". Always gave 100%, never gave up, hated asking for help. Not sure that was so bright anymore. I've been suffering terribly with my health lately, and may need a second back surgery soon (think pins, rods, fusion, ugh).

Love that song - brings back memories!

"Ridin' the storm out
Waitin' for the thaw out
On a full moon night
in the rocky mountain winter

My wine bottle's low
watching for the snow
Thinking 'bout
what I'm missing in the city..."

If that was my house i would move to the equator :)
We're doing just that, right after I win the lottery. ;)

The tree's been long gone now, that was around my first grow. The snow was taken off this morning... I felt stoned when I was done, from the cold. No back problems :wood: and I'm very happy about that. Just won't be telling the wife that..:tokin:
