Stupidface Grows Again - Featuring Mephisto Illuminautos, LEDs & Promix

Day 28 and 26

Both plants kicked ass today. Adjusted LST straps slightly and did some defol on both to open up under the canopy. Tomorrow Gnomie should be fed and Waffle just water.

Day 29 and 27

Plants looked sad when I got home tonight but the light had just come on and they were both thirsty. Gnomie got 4L of water with 4ml silica blast, 3ml calmag, 3ml grow big, 3ml tiger bloom and 8ml big bloom. Will likely get a flush in a few days. Waffle got 3L of just water. Both have gained some height and lots of pistils.

Day 30 and 28

Did some defoliation on both and some major adjustments to Gnomie's LST. I know i said i was going to leave them alone but i cant help myself. Trying to open up more tops and keep the big tops level with each other. Lowered lights down to 20" from canopy.

I totally get the not being able to leave them alone! You just want to give them what they need like the caring plant parent you are :).

Gnomie is looking bonkers with all those tops!

Waffle looking pretty damn fine herself .
 
Hey SF - In reading your journal I notice you use Silica Blast, could you help me understand what it is used for? It is obviously doing good for you so I picked up some and just want to understand it better before I feed it to my girls. It would be helpful to know when you first start using it and what dosage you would recommend.

So full disclosure i only added the silica blast because i saw other people using silica products in their journals and i didnt have any. Chose silica blast because it was on amazon. My understanding is that it is supposed to make the stems stronger and helps the plant stay healthy. I didnt use it last grow and didnt have any issues with weak stems so i wouldnt say it's a necessity but maybe it's helping? I didnt start adding it to their feedings until after day 14 and only 0.5ml/L at first and now at 1ml/L. Bottle seems to recommend between 1-2.5ml/L so i'm just playing it safe. I had read somewhere that you should add it to your water before any other nutes and wait 15 minutes before adding the others. It doesnt mention that on the bottle but i have been doing it just to be safe. Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing will see this and give you better answers.

Thanks - Well it can't hurt as you have proven that already and the price was reasonable. I'm going to try it out and will follow the same dosing you used. I was reading tonight that it can also help keeping the plant from getting stressed by too much heat or cold and from high or low humidity.

You guys are both right. It's a great product that helps strengthens stems and helps the plant with stress situations. Some use it as a foliar spray as pests hate the taste of it.
The stuff does work well for a small price. And yes it needs to be mixed first before any other nutes are added to your water. Don't know why thou

Day 33 and 31

Gnomie bounced back from flush so i gave her 3L of water with 3ml silica blast, 3ml calmag, 4.5ml tiger bloom and 6ml big bloom. Also some great white. I've cut out the grow big now. Waffle got her flush tonight.

Day 34 and 32

Early update today as it's Valentine's Day. Adjusted LST on both to spread them out and did defol on Gnomie. Waffle needs defol as well but because i just flushed her i am going to wait until she gets fed before chopping leaves off. Evened out her canopy though. Only took off leaves that we're hanging low or blocking new tops trying to get to the canopy.

I think they are just starting to stretch. They've fallen behind my last grow as far as size but they may catch up.
