Stunger's Last Stand: Banned To The Balcony!

If the whole plant is pale would it be nitrogen deficient? Maybe it's just a paler plant.

Is it an auto? If not there's still time for it to give you some nice smoke!
Yes indeed, it may be that it is simply a paler plant, it is something that I have wondered. She is a photoperiod so she's now not got a lot of time to bulk up with flowering so close. I'll still be pleased if I can at least get a little bit of quality bud from her to smoke test the strain.

Hey stunger, she might be a strong finisher. Balcony’s looking great at the moment. Did you use nitrosol?
Thanks BC. So far I haven't fed them at all except for a little Blood and Bone to the Strawberry Cough that I mentioned above. However, over Winter I re-amended the containers and let them settle, and in a sort of super soil fashion I put a 1" to 2" layer of composted chicken manure in the bottom of each pot. The Mango Sherbert and especially the Godfather OG both look pretty good so I am reluctant to feed them anything if they're happy, but I will give them a top dress if they start to pale off.

I was just thinking it has been quite a warm day today, with the stored heat radiating off the stone tiles the balcony temperature would getting close to the mid 30's celsius, and that may not be to the liking of the sativa dominant Strawberry Cough. Maybe the sativa component causes it to be a slow starter, but anyway, we'll see what happens.
:ganjamon:

They seem happy to me too. Altho today after that pic was taken I gave the Godfather a fairly good supercropping, I gave her an initial round last week. I was reviewing my plants from last year's grow and they easily put on a foot or so in the 3 weeks to the end of the month. So if I can I would prefer to inhibit too much needlessly branching, I imagine mostly that the plant will make the most of whatever branch stem there is to bud off.

I reckon the SC is probably just busy building roots. She’s in a huge pot. She might surprise you yet, Koro.
I am certainly open to that possibility. I have not grown a plant with as high a sativa % as this one is stated to be (80%). I remember Emeraldo was growing a plant last year that began flowering exceptionally late and wasn't harvested until I think late November, (late May for us down under). It would be great if she was just naturally pale and building roots. Hoping so! :smokin2:

Godfather OG update

Why does my best girl have a boy's name? Godfather OG, it sounds so masculine and not at all ladylike!

This girl seems to be loving it. She is my most impressive plant currently, she has really noticeably grown in the last 8 days, during which I have given her 2 rounds of supercropping and the odd tie of LST. I am endeavouring to 'cramp her in' a little and avoid the rather cumbersome leggy canopies I had last year.

So far she has received no feeding at all since she sprouted, she seems quite happy sitting in her 50L container of organic soil complete with worms living it. She has now reached the development stage where every morning on throwing open the balcony curtains I can see she has visibly grown overnight. I am now trying/wanting to stay on top of her stretching to avoid too much leggy branching.

8 days ago I gave her some supercropping

A few days later

And overnight the following morning she had grown visibly further

So the following day a further round of supercropping was done yesterday in the hot sun, it was our hottest day of the summer so far and it would have been in the 30's celsius on the balcony, perhaps it was cruel not to wait until evening but she is pushing the supercropped right angles straight very quickly but I notice in the hot sun she struggles to straighten them so easily, so that's why I did it when I did it, with the view that the supercropped 'corners' could maybe 'set' in place a little before the sun goes down, it may have slowed the straightening down a little but I don't think very much.

Because I am growing outdoors, it's a long wait from last year to get to this stage again, but it feels so bloody exciting, like coming out of a big bloody long hibernation! I envy indoor growers who can be having plants in this stage of growth every month of the year, but at the same time I am glad of all the experience they gain because in a community like this the sharing is really really appreciated.:thanks:

And overnight today just 8 days after the first pic, she is looking like this.:ganjamon:

And you say to yourself "I like it, but I hope it doesn't go on too long"...

That's a beautiful plant, Stunger- she's gonna fight you on that supercropping though!

Thanks Carcass. I was only recently looking at my grow pics from last year to see that from now until the end of the month they grew over a foot/40cm, I can see them starting to gallop now!

I remember seeing a run of pics that Shed did, showing how he had super cropped and pinched and crushed here and there where he wanted to shape the plant, so I was having that idea in mind. Cheers Shed haha.

If you want them to stay bent, you can hang a little weight on them so they can't straighten back up-
I also learned that from one of @InTheShed 's pics...once the bend starts to heal in the bent position, they'll
stay bent pretty well.
I've got about another week before I need to start bending mine..

She’s looking really really nice stunger. She’s gonna be a real beauty in flower too. I always supercrop as it keeps things low and makes buds bigger done correctly. Keep up the awesome work brother

Picked my first seed out today , buds and seeds :) not bad buds either for stunted autos :thumb: gonna chop them down and hang them as I've no room , they will have to mature hung lol ill have them over my tent as its a loft tent to catch seeds that may fall out

What carcass said! I use an unfolded paper clip just beyond the bend with a binder clip on the end, with just enough weight to keep the bend are 90º. Works like a charm!

Nice plant :)
Tomorrow if the rain lets up, I should have a window of undisturbed opportunity to do some canopy flattening. The suggestion of the weighted paper clips is a good one, but we can get quite strong winds hitting the balcony it can move weights and stems around where they end up elsewhere on the stem where you didn't intend and perhaps scrunching some future bud growth. I will probably just LST them in place. I was hoping by selectively semi crushing the stems in a supercropped manner that I could slow down the stretching but this girl, the Godfather OG is not really slowing down.

@nickeluring who does some wonderful balcony grows with autos, showed a cheap plastic device that fits over a plant stem requiring a 90 degree bend and like a bendable plastic straw it holds it's position. Unfortunately I haven't seen that product locally in NZ, but it looks spot on for what I am trying to do. I'll post a pic of his if I can manage it.

Looking solid pal! Keep it up cant wait to see what comin :)
Thanks AlmostHeaven, I'm now at that stage of wanting to check all the time

Cheers BC, I need the supercropping for stealth too. Yell out if you see anything like those plastic doodahs in the pic above locally.

I don't think my reversing worked on the CBD Express auto. It was certainly worth a try, which I did so for 28 days. Who knows I might find a seed in her buds like you, but I won't be holding my breath for it haha.

I haven’t seen any but I suppose I could just model and 3d print some if there’s none about. I’ll keep my eyes peeled...

They look like they work well and may simplify the process when you want to 'bang in' some angles to stems. The proof's in the pudding of course. ;)

Yesterday on waking up I chomped down a bit of decarbed bud and took a swig of coconut oil and went for a walk around the coast for a couple of hours which I haven't done for a couple of years, but it was good so I should do it more often, one of the beaches has quite a camber on it, which you tend to notice in your hips, one more than the other until you turn to go back an it evens out. The morning was nicely warm but stayed overcast which was great as it avoided me getting burnt. After an hour the White Widow/Gorgonzola kicked in very nicely and I was mellow as and happy walking from little bay to bay where at times in the pleasant haze I forgot exactly where I was, one bay shelves off very deeply where a few years ago I saw a bunch of small whales come in within 20 meters, Brydies whales I thought. It is always nice to see some nature like that.

I must decarb some more bud soon and start sorting out some infusions and cannabutter so I can have a more civilised approach to my medicating! Altho in the meantime chomping on some dry decarbed bud with a little coconut oil isn't a biggie.

Today's a total raining day by the look of things. Somehow it is kind of nice being warm and dry cosseted inside by the rain outside.

Because I'm drawn to want to constantly check on them. Here's a couple of pics of the girls getting a rain drop foliar today, and it's reminder to me to top up with another decarbed bud or two :surf:
