Stocking Up For The Apocalypse: Goody's Perpetual Grow By The Beach 2020

Amazing! :thumb:
Appreciate it even more now I know how hard it is! You make this s**t look too ez mate!
I'm trying but I have broken some branches :nervous-guy: , a couple are still holding on & a couple I've had to take off.
C'est la vie!!
Strain makes a big difference, my mimosa is big so easier to do, but the others are all like miniatures...really difficult to get in there & do what I need to.
I wasn't expecting a flawless grow, that's why I did 4....1's gotta do well...ish!!
Do you have any pics of this one in early veg stage?

Great work :adore:
I do. Further back in this journal, she comes into the picture at 22 days old

Thank you for the kind words, autos seem to do pretty well in my tents, I’m a lucky guy.

Don't suppose you fancy a little trip to the UK do you?

These autos definitely have different habits outside. They are at least getting as much sun as possible, it will be interesting to see them finish.

Outside always means pests, so I’m being proactive about fighting them and the white devil.
I have a custom mix of @Sierra Natural Science 209, Mosquito bits, and garlic oil in a fairly low pH mixture. It seems to work on fruit flies, thrips and mites- also a preventative for mildew. Hoping these girls are all done a few weeks before fungus gnats even get here, but it should also help for them.

a nice transition so far.

Happy Friday, growers!

Good morning, Justin.

Now that I've been transplanting my autos to 3 gallon pots, I've been moving them into my GSC tent, which is under 18/6 lighting. I thought I read that you put your autos under 20/4 lighting? Is that where they should be? I'm planning on cleaning out the small tent this weekend and putting them in there.

I’m currently at 19/5 for light. It’s a personal preference. Anywhere between 16-24 hours is good for autos.

I have better luck NOT transplanting autos. I start them in their final container, it’s just one less thing to possibly shock them.
Some people will say you can do it without shocking them but then argue that topping/defol. is risky. I think transplanting a plant in the middle of its biggest transition is a mistake they sometimes may not recover from. That’s just me.
Here are the 2 indoor autos (currently 19/5) that started in their final place:

So, you don't plant the seeds in a Solo cup initially? They go straight into their final pot?

Happy Friday dude :thumb:

Listen, next time someone messages me or tells me what you can't do with Auto's, I'm going to forward a link to this page & politely, ask them to tell you & see what they come back with....I may be waiting some time

She's an amazing specimen....If you ever decide to write a book on Auto's, I'll buy one :high-five:

Have a good weekend buddy!

Yes.
It's my belief that there isn't enough time for roots to spread properly with that kind of transplant.

I am sure people here have done it and been successful.
I am sure that some other very experienced auto growers will tell stories to the contrary of what I do.
All I have is my own experience, which has ALWAYS BEEN WAY BETTER if I don't transplant.

If I was going to transplant an auto, it would be around day 40-50 if it outgrew it's 5 gallon pot and wanted a 7 gallon pot. That's an easy move.
But with seedlings, there simply (for me) isn't enough time to have the roots stop growing at a few weeks old in a solo cup, then start growing again in a bigger pot, all while trying to flower and stretch.
It makes no sense to me for a plant that does so much work in the first 30 days, to interrupt that work. Another reason I also skip the paper towel and just put the seed into soil after float.
If I'm doing it wrong, the plants sure haven't noticed.

That 44 day old cookie is looking to be a huge one and is already a stunning beauty.
Thank you much, she sure likes to grow.

No paper towel during sprout, no transplants, no special treatment.

Just good genetics from @Weed Seeds Express and a desire to beat my previous auto best (10.05 oz dry) from this same batch of seeds.

And @Sticky fingaz if you want to see what else "can't" be done with an auto, my other journal has it all ;) including cloning and other random no no's lol

Well, I'll have to remember this for next time since all of the autos have already been planted somewhere. As, sticky said, you're definitely the gardening guru of autos. Thank you for your help.

You know, now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever started an auto directly into its final pot...:hmmmm:. and I've had my share of "littles". I will give that a try when I start my next autos (which won't be for a few months). Thanks Justin! :thanks:

@Justin Goody , oh my life! 10oz :lot-o-toke:

Well, I’ve got some reading to do, along with a bag of popcorn & a massive zoot :ganjamon:
( after I’ve ordered some @Weed Seeds Express Auto seeds :headbanger:)

Nice looking banner, big fat white pistils. I've found the initial pistil formation on mine to be on the smaller side (tiny hairs). Did you notice this with yours as well?

I can’t say that I did. This one is growing just like my Green Crack plant, with the exception being that it’s got a purple tint rather than orange.
Otherwise it’s the same size and bud structure, nice fat pistils.
She smells pretty amazing too..
