Stocking Up For The Apocalypse: Goody's Perpetual Grow By The Beach 2020

As soon as she’s done, there are some new kids that just got into town, ready to take her place

Thanks to @Dope-Seeds.com and Blackskull seeds for these. The post took its sweet time, but ended up being perfect timing for this tent.
Now if I could get @Budget LED or @NextLight to jump on this train, we’d really be rolling.
Look for that journal in the next few weeks!

I see you tend to grow auto’s. Are they your preference?
They definitely are now, with modern genetics and with Megacrop.
Where some others see autos as finicky and unpredictable, I find them to be pretty accommodating for my situation. They are also impervious to power outages and light leaks, and they grow fast enough to have very few pest problems that can actually bring them down. My only bad experience has been getting accidental photos (or just weak genetic autos) from a cheap seed co (before I got here) and NEVER again is all I can say.
Once a grow is dialed in, autos are so basic I can’t believe more people aren’t on board. After getting done growing the Wedding Cake, I’m convinced they are headed in the right direction for a grower like me.
My grows are simple, but they net pretty decent results some days.

I’ve never tried an auto but after watching what they can do I’m tempted. I come from the days when regular seeds were the norm. Lots of bag seed Sativa’s. My present grows I try to get the plants to about four feet at harvest. Mostly Indica dominant photoperiod feminized. The new genetics is amazing

I agree. And I know photos will likely be a bit stronger for quite a while, but some of these autos are like 90% of the way there. I like that the plant decides flowering rather than me. I would always feel like I either went a bit too early or a bit too late (now I can just do that with trichomes lol) and even the earliest flowering specimens I’ve grown have gotten huge. I struggled with photos and spider mites and hot/cold grow rooms for years, and now I have these dialed in harvesting between 5-7 oz from each plant every 70 days or so. I’m in heaven!

From what I hear, auto breeding is definitely picking up the pace in the States, after trailing Europe for a little bit, and the current quality has started to convince more and more growers and breeders of the benefits.

Apparently also the further breeders can get from the ruderalis in their lines, the better the quality of the flower. Auto lines have been worked for a while now and they are starting to achieve this too.

I think we'll see autos match photos in strength and profile in the next couple of years.

Morning Goody, I love those foxtails. Can be miserable to trim but wicked funky looking afterwards
Good morning!
Hell yes it looks like devil horns or something, I don’t mind it, just don’t want it to affect taste/potency.

I think you’re right, and I like where they are headed. Now if they could build in some kind of terp. enhancer into MegaCrop in that time, we'll be all set! :laughtwo:

I wouldn’t worry about it Goody, foxtailing doesn’t seem to affect the properties, just the looks.
I hope so- if anything, the plant has had more time to fill out and bulk and get resinous. The foxtails are finally starting to change pistil color, and right on time for the new grow to start in there soon.

The green Crack babies are doing fine. Just like @Carcass said, I now have 2 of them.
I suppose there are worse problems to have when dealing with crack.
Also I’m loving this little clone from the Wedding Cake, it’s finishing off in the next week so it’s really pretty. Pure frost all over her, just like the other auto clones I got. Not sure why cloned autoflower branches seem to produce so many trichomes, but I will surely be working on finding out more about that in this coming year.

She's a beauty! Massive structure to her. Nicely done goody!
Thanks Mr S ... Just look at this profile

She’s a beast- Looking forward to the weight on her.

Didn’t see the smoke in the pic until I posted it. It’s not from cooking I swear :laughtwo:

Beautiful chunky lady you've got there!
How close is she?

The foxtailing makes it look 2 weeks out but the rest of it tells a different story. The trichomes are just about there, I’m cutting off water today so probably 48-72 hours. It’s barely been drinking any water suddenly which is always a good sign it’s close. Lots of purple in the right light. It’s getting there...
Not to mention I’m gonna float seeds tomorrow and get started on that @Dope-Seeds.com grow in the next week. Onward and upward!
Great set of bones holding her up! Real purdy with all that oven smoke wafting by. ;)
I do love burning some bacon though this time it was just the bong
