Thank Ya!Hey Goody! Looking good over there in the PNW! Question for you: the training pic above, that is the WC that you topped and are now training with LST by pulling all four sections of the two(?) nodes flat? Correct? Thank You!
Ah! There’s that third node! Cool. Thank you!Thank Ya!
I left 3 nodes on this one (2,3 and 4) for training, partly because it started flowering so early. I've never grown this strain so I don't know what the stretch will be like. Hopefully it's like the PL, but right now it seems to be a bit more bushy and short. I don't pull them totally flat, I leave a tiny downward angle toward the stem.
If I can get more veg out of them I'll just leave 2 nodes, but this one started flower at 18 days. It's starting to stack up already I'm glad I left 3!
That is what I try to do. I like to let the plant just get to 8 nodes and cut down to the 5th.... cut first and second node leaving nodes 3,4,and5 then ty them down. Great example
I noticed in some other pics that you cut the large fan leaf underneath the node but leave a bit of a stump for a tie down. Interesting idea!
I tried it at first because there was nothing else to tie to, and it worked while it grew about another inch or so. But once that leaf is cut off, that stem loses its integrity pretty fast and won't hold the branch down.I noticed in some other pics that you cut the large fan leaf underneath the node but leave a bit of a stump for a tie down. Thank You! I wanted something VERY different from what I had been growing, and something I hadn't really heard anyone else mention. Also, we are generally underwhelmed by "purple" strains, but I think this one is going to be legit. The Purple Lemonade is actually purple which is great, though it looks nothing like the stock pic on the website lol. So far I REALLY like the growth on the BB and how much it already looks Indica. There may or may not be some attempts at breeding here soon, so I might know a guy with some seeds to shareNice pick on the Babushka Black. I've had that on my wishlist at a certain place for over a year. Hopefully I'll get to try it someday.
A little bit jelly but I'll live.
Love your determined NL.
Resilient as can be.
Did I mention that I'm going to start my breeding program early next year?Thank You! Awesome, looking forward to it. I'll be a tester if needed lolDid I mention that I'm going to start my breeding program early next year?
Pheno hunting, seed making and breeding. I'm goin to crazy town!
A bud-dy is sending me some STS in a few weeks. He said he has enough for two lifetimes. He's been a great mentor and will no doubt instruct me on the use as well.
I'm excited for some sexy plant porn!
You got it!Awesome, looking forward to it. I'll be a tester if needed lol
I'm trying out CS, but may have done it too late... I'll know soon. If I get pollen, I'm going to have some great crosses and lots of PL seeds!
I bought some and am (carefully) applying it on 1 lower flowering branch, for the past 12 days or so.Nice training my friend, you’ve got them sitting right! Keep up the good work!!
Are you making your own CS for reversals?
Hi goody. I’m Beginning to get my ducks in a row regarding the Oil making for the salve/lotion. I have two oils that I plan to make (not both at the same time!). First one is for the salve that is made using the stems, stalks, and roots of several plants and coconut oil will be my base for that - I plan to use The @InTheShed Recipe). The other oil I plan to make is from my big Cinderella 99 that I had to take down a few weeks early (and she does give a good short buzz when smoked). I had though that I would try my hand at gummies or some other type of orally injested fun. I plan to do a little batch of lotion too but I want to make sure I’m understanding what you shared correctly. I was thinking I would make the lotion from the first oil using the stalks and stems, but it looks like you are making it using cannabis and CBD flower along with CBG. Do you think it would work well in one or the other format or potentially both? It seems like the anti inflammatory properties of the CBD would be a good thing for salve and lotion but I don’t have any of it. I Can order Flower and CBG from Oregon Hemp, but I just need to figure out the ratios I think? Anyway, hopefully that long paragraph makes sense. Thank you....It really is reasonably priced (even @carcass said so lol) there’s currently not much demand for it, and I hope everyone has a chance to experience it.
I’m in a similar situation to you where I’ve been after a high for 30 years and am really just checking out the medical benefits recently. And mostly it’s because older family members are interested in the healing properties but often wouldn’t know who (or what) to ask.
I’d love to get others on board and figure out a good basic potion for the lotion. I have no idea if I’m adding way too much or too little, so everyone gets to learn with me. I don’t mind diving right in, my dry skin needs lotion anyway, it may as well have meds in it!
I have read that the CBD based salve/lotion does not help with inflammation when applied through the skin. I’m a firm believer that it helps localized pain and skin problems etc, but can’t confirm the anti inflammatory properties.Hi goody. Thanks Goody. I think I will lean back a little and get a salve run under my belt. I honestly have no clue how much flower I have (that I'm willing to part with if I eff it up!) but the early 99 I would guess 5-6 oz. I should probably weigh it. Thanks again Goody.I have read that the CBD based salve/lotion does not help with inflammation when applied through the skin. I do use all flower currently, to make my oil. The next batch I will use more stems/leaves but the past batches were all flower.
The stuff I ordered from @OregonHempFlower has been great. I can get a much higher CBD percentage (22-23 %) and their product is cheap. The CBG I add as powder at the end of the infusion. I added a whole gram of isolate powder to the last batch.
That batch was 1 oz Dr S from my jars, 1 oz OHF 22% CBD, and 1g CBG isolate, 2 tbs LSL in 2 C coconut oil (Lecithin and CBG added at the end). I infuse 2 times, 8 hours each time. The same oil can be added to food or lotion.
I can’t say whether the stem/leaf based oil would work as good for lotions, but for food it would be hard to hit those same #s without using flower. Maybe time to buy some hemp!
