Stinky Snid's Nursery & Flower Shop - Welcome To My Perpetual Adventure

I know exactly what your talking about I am a restaurant owner/manager I work sometimes 70 hours a week sometimes no days off for months plus tending to my gardens, I do DWC so I HAVE to ch ph daily. But I love growing it's my passion, have been since 98! And watched the entire grow methods change I remember the old days I got seeds from bags of smoke and I would plant train but I have definitely learned so much over the last 5 years of my grows. Now we get strain specific and breeder recommendations and even grow tips, there was always the grow bible back then but nothing like today. Anyway sorry to hi jack your thread but check out my cotton candy harvest recently she was a mother for a while and was first soil in a long timeand a incredible bulk almost done

Couldn't agree more, I think we all start with the grow Bible. The thought of sharing the experience with the world is not for great for many. Individual learning is important still and is a stepping stone to achieving the end goal of premium buds. Grow methods have come a long ways too, I don't know any better since I've only begun to explore my new found joy. Thanks for the kind words and support, I appreciate it very much:Namaste:

Hi Snid,
I am back on the boards and checking in with your grow, looks like you are going full steam ahead nicely there :)
that skywalker looks very nice indeed, I am growing out a skywalker x tangie at the moment.
keep up the goods stuff snid!
Welcome back Partimus, thanks for coming by to let us know of your return. I'll have to come see your skywalker cross, do you have a journal for her? Good to see your posts again brother :Namaste:

Those buds off margey look damn delicious nice work there snid
They are delicious :thumb: I can't stop sampling. Lol. I will once the first jar is gone, I'll conserve after that. But for now I'm enjoying the splendours of my own creation. :thanks: Sneaky

All I can say is WOW... I just went through this entire journal... I'm pretty sure it took me a week... so many amazing beautiful plants... that Marge... I love it how looking through made me really see the differences between a mag def. versus a nitrogen def. and all of the other wonderful information some of which I just picked up on my own going through page by page... Oh yeah I'm no expert by any means but I noticed at one point your were getting white topped buds and from what I have read it could be from leds being to close and bleaching the tops of the buds from light intensity maybe you already know this and you are way more experienced than me but I still try and look out.
I imagined the white tops on my pineapple express was from deficiency, since she was exhibiting signs throughout her grow. She was kept at the same height as all the others. I very happy to hear you read the entire journal, that's alot of reading. But it's quite a trip for me to read back myself, I'm on page 27(w/40posts per page) and it's an amazing tale of growing along side my plants. Thanks for the support Howsjosh :Namaste:

Gotta love the Skywalkers, Leia showing some purple.
I'm loving this strain... Such aroma, such stickiness, an amazing amount of trichomes.... It's got it all. Hope to breed this strain with some recently acquired Afghani regular seeds. I love the colours too, it's quite the display of intricacy with each plants endlife process. :Namaste:

Snid, I really really liked your submission for the plant of the month.
Aside from the ingenious pictures (the bud and the spiral stem . ), The craft you did with her...
Dude, this is talent and and an amazing passion. Better than mine and vast majority of all submissions.
It's my very personal opinion, though.
Hats off to you, sir.
P.S - I voted for you :)
I appreciate that very much Greenproto, Glad you checked out her training process. :thanks: keeping within the confines of the rules... I wish you the best of luck as well :Namaste:You've got a Beautiful specimen there.

Your seedlings look beautiful - the lst is coming along nicely. They look super healthy:)
Their training is going very well. They've grown quite a bit since the mid week update. Healthy is the way I like it, so much less stressful than dealing with hot soil like last time. Thanks Peaches :circle-of-love:

Snid awesome update ..
the flower tent looks great I love how tight those nugs are mate bravo.
Seedlings are coming along now, can't wait to see how diesel berry turns out.
Cheers
You bet Sneaky, things are going well in both tents. I hope to get an update in tomorrow. I've grown out a diesel Berry earlier in this journal if your interested in finding her. (Debbie diesel Berry) She'll be small but super delicious...

KiG Everyone :green_heart:Cheers

Outstanding as usual in here. Many frosty looking ladies. Hope life gives you a break soon :passitleft:

Mr Am4zin!! Awesome to see you back here. Haven't been keeping up with many journals these days, hope your next adventure is going well. Still amazed with the flux you did... Thanks for the visit brother :Namaste:

Another brother I've not seen in a good month or more... I was beginning to think you were absent. It also may be just my lack of activities on here though. Hope your liberty Haze dwarfs my own, you have some great looking grows my friend. Can't way to see the results of your endeavour. A smoke report is now my mission, you shall have it as soon as feasibly possible. Right now I'm stuck on this atomic bomb, so tasty and potent... Thank you for everything oldschool, you do amazing work over there.

No time this weekend for an update or a harvest. I used all my extra time for sleeping. This will be a quick update aswell since I'm short of time today too. Glad to see some friendly faces back around these parts, thanks for saying hi guys :Namaste:

The sowing process is still very spotty at best. I lost one of two seeds again, thought it was both but a taproot has popped on a fruit punch. I also dropped another FP and a Durban poison. So far the other FP has popped. Here's the two sprouts...

Notes ~
Now into veg and some in flower already the younguns are all doing quite well. Trans Siberian #1 and 2 are stretching alot and are already at the pots edge. Pistils are now showing on the both of these as well as the Blackjack. Diesel Berry is about ready to go vertical now, her main Colas have slowed and her secondary growth is catching up. The smaller two TSi's are not showing pistils and are growing steadily about a week behind their counterparts. They all got a major feeding today, full g/m/b, b52 and the roots tribe.

Simply awaiting... My estimate was off, it's looking like a Wednesday harvest. I'm pulling off some of the decaying leaves and adding them to the trim pile. Can't let the those trichs go to waste...still 2lbs to go so she's going dark tonight.

A fresh round of white pistils gas emerged. Maybe I'll get some more density and growth from the extra week. She's colouring alot now and the only green is her inner canopy. Buds are frosty beyond my expectations, the one pic looks like a wall of trichomes. She got another overdrive boost today, should be her last feeding :wood:

Notes ~
Rey is so healthy still, just a couple spots of purple here and there but overall super green. She is starting to smell like "train tracks" a subtle tar like aroma. Super super sticky is understatement. She will be a sweet smoke for sure. Another round of nutes and she's set for another week.

Hope you all enjoyed the gardenscapes...Do come again,

Harvest report for Liberty Haze aka Haze-L. Initial aroma is marvellous, very pungent and sweet at the same time. It has a knock out appeal to it, like you know it's potent. She's residing in the drying box at a steady 55% Rh, if I can keep the humidifier full. Here are the buds hanging...

20170325_164527.jpg

The sowing process has concluded. I've got 4 official sprouts now, listed below. There is also another fruit punch currently in a solo cup awaiting emergence. I had found a seed literally lying on and stuck to one of the Haze's buds. I found a few more during harvest too. Anyways the seed looked immature but I dropped it and it sprung a taproot like I've not seen before in two days it was an inch long. Needless to say I planted the seed (S1 from a female, possibly stress related) and it emerged this morning. The two eldest are now situated in the auto tent observing their first nights of darkness.

Notes ~
Furthest along into flower the diesel Berry is slowing stretch and has been "pinned" for going vertical. Meaning I've staked her for the last time and all adjustments from her out are to keep thing level. Nearly all the TSi's have had an incredible amount of stretch between nodes. A couple have also been pinned and are set to continue their stretch vertically. Blackjack is going very well, by all measures it is the most healthy looking of the bunch. Flowering has begun on all the plants but one, TSi #4.woods training is going admirably.

Despite showing nearly 10% amber she is still emitting new pistils. I'm worried of bananas at this point and may begin flushing tomorrow. Her lovely glistening buds are very aromatic, hard to describe.. But it smells like weed that's for sure. Her leaf decay has slowed considerably and I've not pulled off many dead leaves lately, this might be in conjunction with the fresh pistils emerging.

With only couple weeks remaining Rey is still looking remarkably green. I will begin flushing as soon as I see ample trichomes. Currently the tops are showing a negligible amount of amber. She is almost dry and will get a mild nutrient feeding once again before flushing. I've decided to defoliated a little more than usual so I could get a better look at the buds. Her buds look much whiter than Leia's do, but like I said before if you start smelling her for a few minutes you'd think you were at a train station. Very potent smelling to say the least.

Hope your weekend is going well...till next time,
:ciao:

Purple is showing up nicely.
Sure is Pennywise, rewards are in sight. Much like they are for you brother. The ask us anything thread is indebted to you greatly. Good luck my friend :goodluck:

I never get tired of seeing your signature bushes. Your skill at training plants to produce nothing but colas is amazing! :thumb:
Thanks Mouser, glad to see you here. These days my time doesn't permit me to keep up with training like I used to. But they still make great Jedi candidates on their own. I appreciate the kind words brother, see you around soon:Namaste:

Great news ohioboy, I wish you luck with your cheese. I know you'll love the smell it puts off. And a delicious smoke indeed... Spring is around the corner up here, outdoor season is nearly upon us. Thanks for stopping by brother :Namaste:

Want to watch these Trans Siberians. Want to see if the one I grew was small or if seed info on height was exaggerated. I really enjoyed the smoke.

Stinky Snid's Nursery & Flower Shop - Welcome To My Perpetual Adventure

I feel like I just watched an opera as I wipe the tears of astonishment off my face. Maybe it's from the size of your plants that blew my mind. I just don't get used to it. You are the boutique among us. That Durban Poison has caught my attention I'll be dialed in for this heavyweight event. Your soul sister....❤️

Let's start with the setup and the laboratory.

I've got two Tents side by side. One is a Mars Hydro 27"x27"x63" and the other is a 32"x32"x63". The vent holes almost line up. Which I'll utilize, I'll describe it in a sec.
Here's the Tents...
20160318_211901.jpg
20160226_1712021.jpg

I've also got a propagation and temporary vegetation area built out of a shelving unit cut in half.
Here's the unit...
20160131_135859.jpg

Top shelf has a 4 x HO T5's fixture with 3 x 6500k tubes and 1 x 2700k tube. There is 6" of grow space, until they reach the light a 7"
1454272677520-1518895981.jpg

Bottom area has 4 x cfl fixtures, capable of y-splitters, and up to 16 bulbs (I'll use 8 max) of mixed spectrum.
1454272728514-41806633.jpg

As for ventilation and air refreshment I've created this system. It's a flowing system that ventilates both Tents.
Here's my *current* ventilation system...
Intake vent with variable speed controller (160cfm) I taped in on there pretty good, eh?
20160227_193128.jpg

Inside tent #1 (auto tent) I've installed a "relief" port in case heat gets to high in the tent. It's got a cardboard toggle switch. Lol.
20160227_193156.jpg

Top side of that is a type of air purifier's carbon filter cut to cover the hole. It's opaque and allow air flow. Perfect.
20160227_193140.jpg

Still in the auto tent, which is pressurized by the intake, this vent goes to the other tent. I've since installed a CPU fan to help things along. It is also got a double layered carbon filter like the one above, to keep light from getting in/out, just air.
20160227_193209.jpg

Now we get into tent #2 (photo tent) where the vent comes in from the auto tent.
20160227_193238.jpg

That leads down to canopy level where oscillator fans spread it around.
20160227_193307.jpg

I've also got a passive intake in the photo tent to keep things drier at night during flower period.
20160227_193331.jpg

Then out the tent we go with the aid of an exhaust fan (160cfm), currently no carbon filter required, but I have one on my wishlist.
20160227_193404.jpg

Ive also got this to toy with once I get a carbon filter. Much more power.. Hahaha.. 400+cfm baby.
20160402_115452.jpg

:green_heart:I'd like to thank a special someone for this great big fan. You know who you are and God bless you my dear. :thanks:

OK, now onto the lights. As you saw I've got dual 48x5 Watt Mars Hydro Reflectors, they cover 2'x2' each and draw 105 watts each from the wall. More than enough for my auto tent.
I've also acquired a Mars Hydro Mars400, which runs about 200 watts from the wall. This one is being used in the photo tent.
Jason from Twilight-group LEDs has graciously handed out free lights. I am one of the lucky members who got one. Thanks Jason. It will be a 288x3 Watt panel. (864watts) I imagine will draw around 400 wall watts.
Screenshot_2016-04-02-13-15-06.png

I've also got tons of cfl strands ready to be installed wherever they're needed. And about 50 cfls bulbs... Lol that's what happens when you grow with them, you can never have enough.

I've also created a CannaCan © my version of a bucket grow. I used an old garbage can and some strip LEDs (6500k) and a single bulb at the top. This is for super side projects. One failed already.. Haha. Forgot to turn the light switch on after I set the timer.
But here's my creation...
20160210_222357.jpg
20160210_222326.jpg
20160210_221829.jpg

Lol... That's my boredom getting the best of me.

Let's take a look at the laboratory. With all these plants organization is essential. I've moved in a work area and weighing area, so I can easily move pots around and do all the measurements and analysis I need to for each one. I've installed a broad spectrum of light bulbs in the laboratory so I can a good look at foliage for deficiencies.

Here's the work area...
This is the nute station, I've got a good majority of the Advanced Nutrients line, And if not I've got something similar to supplement. I've also got my all Ph solutions, solo cups, perlite, rooting hormones, and all my tools at hand.
20160326_093311.jpg

On to the weighing station, this is where the girls spend most of their time outside the Tents. I've got an extra desk lamp above for better lighting. I will preen and clip them here aswell.
20160402_115317.jpg

Water station is next, there's two Buckets. Left bucket has a circulation pump and is topped up with water whenever I transfer any to the other bucket. This allows for the chlorine evaporation and what not... In the right bucket, which has only 24h+ water in it, there are two air stones oxygenating the bucket.
20160402_115306.jpg

And finally the note taking, every OCD grower has them. Plus it is great for tracking their progress and environmental conditions.
20160402_115340.jpg

These notes are all thanks to my new grow toys.
My Ph and EC pens...
20160402_115421.jpg

Let's get to the fun stuff, I had gone a seed buying binge. I couldn't choose which strains I wanted do I got a poop ton of various breeders and strains.
Here's my seed vault...
20160212_140210.jpg

This is the style of pots I will use for now. The largest are 5 gallon for the photoperiods after up Potting a few times. And the smaller are about 3 gallon pots for the autos. I've drilled dozens and dozens of holes I the bottom portion of the pots.
20160304_153306.jpg

Well that does it for the tour today. I hope you all can give me some good ideas of how I can improve my setup. It's a work I progress, I'm constantly finding new things to add or change. Please feel free to comment on anything you see that is wrong, I'm a big boy and I can take it when I make mistakes.

Welcome once again to Stinky Snid's Nursery and Flower Shop. The doors are always open, please come in and smell the fresh flowers, and don't forget...

Keep It Green Everyone :green_heart:Cheers

The Durban will be interesting, the Skywalkers are getting close.
skywalkers are close to completion now, I'll be chopping Leia tomorrow. And Rey is due for a flush anytime... I'm excited about this next lineup aswell :thumb: Congrats for your motm, you deserve it to the max. :bravo:

Whatever works... Right? It was a simple and cost effective solution to my immediate ventilation concerns. I've since hooked up a larger fan and my temps are much more controllable. Thanks for visiting :Namaste:

Smells good as always brother! Haze-L looks like she turned out well. Hope u r doing well man.
