Let's start with the setup and the laboratory.
I've got two Tents side by side. One is a Mars Hydro 27"x27"x63" and the other is a 32"x32"x63". The vent holes almost line up. Which I'll utilize, I'll describe it in a sec.
Here's the Tents...
I've also got a propagation and temporary vegetation area built out of a shelving unit cut in half.
Here's the unit...
Top shelf has a 4 x HO T5's fixture with 3 x 6500k tubes and 1 x 2700k tube. There is 6" of grow space, until they reach the light a 7"
Bottom area has 4 x cfl fixtures, capable of y-splitters, and up to 16 bulbs (I'll use 8 max) of mixed spectrum.
As for ventilation and air refreshment I've created this system. It's a flowing system that ventilates both Tents.
Here's my *current* ventilation system...
Intake vent with variable speed controller (160cfm) I taped in on there pretty good, eh?
Inside tent #1 (auto tent) I've installed a "relief" port in case heat gets to high in the tent. It's got a cardboard toggle switch. Lol.
Top side of that is a type of air purifier's carbon filter cut to cover the hole. It's opaque and allow air flow. Perfect.
Still in the auto tent, which is pressurized by the intake, this vent goes to the other tent. I've since installed a CPU fan to help things along. It is also got a double layered carbon filter like the one above, to keep light from getting in/out, just air.
Now we get into tent #2 (photo tent) where the vent comes in from the auto tent.
That leads down to canopy level where oscillator fans spread it around.
I've also got a passive intake in the photo tent to keep things drier at night during flower period.
Then out the tent we go with the aid of an exhaust fan (160cfm), currently no carbon filter required, but I have one on my wishlist.
Ive also got this to toy with once I get a carbon filter. Much more power.. Hahaha.. 400+cfm baby.
I'd like to thank a special someone for this great big fan. You know who you are and God bless you my dear.
OK, now onto the lights. As you saw I've got dual 48x5 Watt Mars Hydro Reflectors, they cover 2'x2' each and draw 105 watts each from the wall. More than enough for my auto tent.
I've also acquired a Mars Hydro Mars400, which runs about 200 watts from the wall. This one is being used in the photo tent.
Jason from Twilight-group LEDs has graciously handed out free lights. I am one of the lucky members who got one. Thanks Jason. It will be a 288x3 Watt panel. (864watts) I imagine will draw around 400 wall watts.
I've also got tons of cfl strands ready to be installed wherever they're needed. And about 50 cfls bulbs... Lol that's what happens when you grow with them, you can never have enough.
I've also created a CannaCan © my version of a bucket grow. I used an old garbage can and some strip LEDs (6500k) and a single bulb at the top. This is for super side projects. One failed already.. Haha. Forgot to turn the light switch on after I set the timer.
But here's my creation...
Lol... That's my boredom getting the best of me.
Let's take a look at the laboratory. With all these plants organization is essential. I've moved in a work area and weighing area, so I can easily move pots around and do all the measurements and analysis I need to for each one. I've installed a broad spectrum of light bulbs in the laboratory so I can a good look at foliage for deficiencies.
Here's the work area...
This is the nute station, I've got a good majority of the Advanced Nutrients line, And if not I've got something similar to supplement. I've also got my all Ph solutions, solo cups, perlite, rooting hormones, and all my tools at hand.
On to the weighing station, this is where the girls spend most of their time outside the Tents. I've got an extra desk lamp above for better lighting. I will preen and clip them here aswell.
Water station is next, there's two Buckets. Left bucket has a circulation pump and is topped up with water whenever I transfer any to the other bucket. This allows for the chlorine evaporation and what not... In the right bucket, which has only 24h+ water in it, there are two air stones oxygenating the bucket.
And finally the note taking, every OCD grower has them. Plus it is great for tracking their progress and environmental conditions.
These notes are all thanks to my new grow toys.
My Ph and EC pens...
Let's get to the fun stuff, I had gone a seed buying binge. I couldn't choose which strains I wanted do I got a poop ton of various breeders and strains.
Here's my seed vault...
This is the style of pots I will use for now. The largest are 5 gallon for the photoperiods after up Potting a few times. And the smaller are about 3 gallon pots for the autos. I've drilled dozens and dozens of holes I the bottom portion of the pots.
Well that does it for the tour today. I hope you all can give me some good ideas of how I can improve my setup. It's a work I progress, I'm constantly finding new things to add or change. Please feel free to comment on anything you see that is wrong, I'm a big boy and I can take it when I make mistakes.
Welcome once again to Stinky Snid's Nursery and Flower Shop. The doors are always open, please come in and smell the fresh flowers, and don't forget...
