Snid do the autos ever get much size ? are they worth bothering with . Some sweets pics there - what kinda camera are you using ? : )

You have to do your homework to find out which ones they are, but there are some monster autos out there. Even my 24 inch mephisto sour crack was 1012g wet bud and she is a smaller auto. :)

Epic journey in the life of your little pineapple express, every time I've tried to grow this strain it's turned up male, your is a little cutie.

Really? With feminized seeds... That sucks. So far I'm not impressed with this auto strain it may have been something I did and I'll have to try the 5 other seeds I've got to see if it was just a fluke mini plant. :geek:

It depends on that strain genetics, so my crop king autos and my AMS auto are going to be at least an dry Oz. each like my previous northern lights autos. They are hit or miss to be honest from my experience. I'm using my Galaxy S5 for pics. Thanks Bigbuds :Namaste:

What's up J.S. Thanks for checking my journal out, if your growing then the rest is details. It was meant to supply me with smoke, but really it's become such a fun and interesting hobby that results are secondary to the satisfaction of bringing a plant through harvest. Skills and knowledge will come in time for you and that's basically my story too, now it's my turn to inspire and assist if needed the next class of 420 newbies.
Good luck my friend :welcome: to :420:

KIG y'all :green_heart:Cheers

Now it's time for the Tyrone Special, only had one seed too. Made sure my germing was flawless for this one, did a little voodoo magic and I added some rooting hormones to the cup of water it soaked in. Needless to say Tyrone sprouted without fail.

Strain : Tyrone Special auto. Feminized (limited edition) from Mephisto Genetics

Current age : 33 days, March 2nd First day above ground.
apr4ty7_2ph5_6.jpg

And how did we get here? Let find out...

Week One -
OK then.. once again in the solo cup and under T5's for the first week or so. I put voodoo juice in the soiless mix, that plus the hormones while soaking this one's gonna take off. First days were under a plastic teepee, on a heat mat. 24/7 lights. Keep nodes nice and tight :geek:, presoaked solo cup mix was sufficient to get through transplant.

On day 16 Tyrone lost its top... Fed on day 17, g/m/B, voodoo, b52,calmag . training starts this week with some ponytailing and lower shoot development. I'm bending the pinnacle shoots to soften them.. Then a couple stakes to get the pinnacle tips horizontal.

Now that I've got a soil ph Pen that works I've noticed that my Ph is a little low. I'll have to correct that over the next couple feedings. Just adjusting the stakes to keep the tops level, easy going at the moment.

Hey Snid. Things are looking good, all caught up on your ladies now and cant wait to see the outcome. Sad that your pineapple express isnt amounting to much, it looks very tasty.. Lets just hope the rest of your seeds from this strain have a better outcome. Will certainly check out your first journal as you mentioned.
And yes, I have noticed from going thru all sorts of journals on here that the right nutes at the right time make all the difference. That is the part I'm getting on learning right now. I have the 3 part GH - micro, gro, bloom as well as armour si for better stress/cold resistance and strengthening. I had looked at the GH box but at first I wasn't sure how long that would last or if it would get me thru to harvest. It certainly is always about the pocket book and staying simple. Maybe some day I will try out the organic side of things, seems to be some nice and healthy growth with it.
One thing I would like to touch on is your ponytail method. I have seen it only a couple of times throughout the forum and have yet to research this topic. I can see it certainly would add extra light to the lower growth. Was this something you did every day for a couple of weeks? I noticed you did so for 5 or 6 hours during the day and that you had used a few different materials. But what about the growth at the node below the one you allowed light to? Can this other set of leaves be trained to be moved to the side to allow light even lower? Seems like it may be kind of tricky with my girls where they are so small. I would like to try this to get that lower growth going, especially on the 2 that I FIM'd. Otherwise, how close should the ponytailed leaves be pulled together? And what would be the best thing to use for my little girls? I do have some chessecloth here which I seen you used.
Thanks again for letting me tag along and being so willing to help others out in your journal. Best of luck and take care!

Let's move along... This is the life of Ariel. My second Mephisto Genetics seed attempt and second successful germination. I am liking the verosity of these genetics, they are quick to show a taproot.

OK let's get one more done tonight, this is my induction into the Dark Devil club. This one's got a good story, if you're on the DDA community grow you'll know this is my nemesis. My first seed popped out of the package never to be seen. Second one germinated but ripped it's cotyledons off on its way out of the soil. So now I'm down to two seeds. Let's make this one count.

Strain : Dark Devil Auto. Feminized from Sweet Seeds

Current age : 32 days, March 10th first day above ground.

April 5th Daily Update
Got my light pulleys installed and brought everything down in both tents. No more platform for the pots. I've put a yoga mat under the Tents to help the cold from transferring to the pots. Although the soil temps. Are a couple degrees cooler today over yesterday. Summer is around the corner so I won't be to concerned with it,unless it worsens. Onto todays updates....

That's it for today's update, stay tuned for the photoperiod play by play and tomorrow's daily update. :ciao: till then...

Only a lid off of an auto? I would lose my mind if I put 2+ months into it and got a week's Supply. I'll have to do a round of autos just to see what it's all about
Yeah for sure, it's not ideal for me yet... But it's the best quality smoke I've had in a long time. I'm improving every time so I could maybe get a little more, it's always possible, like Atrain or Rifleman's autos.
Flowers are coming in nicely! Looks fantastic.
Thanks CMJ :thanks:
Hey Snid.....(read above post)..... Thanks again for letting me tag along and being so willing to help others out in your journal. Best of luck and take care!
Yes Dick, I do the ponytail for a few hours a day. I was using cheese cloth since I had no scrunchies. But hair elastics are ideal. It allow more light below while preventing light from reaching top tips. Then training starts as you said to move them (Shepard) into open spaces, use string or stakes to manipulate it outwards. Don't put it tightly on there just enough to keep it closed up, don't snap any leaves please! Glad you're enjoying my journal, :thanks:
This is awesome! Love your setup. Definitely mad scientist type laboratory! I'm sticking around, I feel I might learn from you.
Hope I can be a helpful guide for folks like you. I Appreciate the kind words Kundal :thanks:
I like your style Snid. Looking great over here!
Obiwan? Strong too My Jedi powers are.. Master Snid I am.
Looking good buddy!
Afmini, I thank you very much. Glad you like the spectacle. :Namaste:

KiG Everyone :green_heart:Cheers

Good idea with the hair elastics. I thought about using those but where the plants are still small I don't think they would stay in place right yet til they are bigger. So far so good though, haven't snapped any leaves off yet! I am definitely seeing a difference in the last couple of days with the lower growth and will continue using this technique until that growth starts to catch up with the rest. Thanks a lot for the tips. I look forward to more learning along the way :)

April 6th, Daily Update
The big news of the day is my Maria (first journal) , she's now in the dark until Saturday morning, when I'll be harvesting her sweet fat buds. I decided to flip my to elder photoperiods and place the smaller ones in with the autos (in place of Maria) for another couple weeks. I've got 8-9 weeks of 12/12 to go let's count it down. Lol... Auto news... They are liking the floor, the soil temps are up and so is the ambient temperature. Also I upgraded the CPU fan transferring air from one tent to the other. Onto the days updates for these ladies.

Notes ~ Trinity was topped today at the 4th node, I was hoping to lst her but I think I see pistils already. I'll top her and hope she's not in full flower yet. I keep forgetting to take a pic of Kalua, my bag! I'll make sure to have her in the update tomorrow. Also I decreased the light schedule to 19/5 to accommodate the photos in the auto tent.

Very nice buddy. Flourishing nicely over there. What would the reason be for changing the light cycle to 19/5? Just curious as to what the benefits there may be for doing this. I may have missed what your light schedules were before hand or its just because I am following so many threads now and trying to help people out haha

Reason for switching from 20/4 to 19/5 was because... My photo tent was set at 18/6 since the beginning and Ellabella, Winnie, Mandy and Renee have been under it since sprout. The autos have all been under 20/4 since sprouts. By moving the two photos who are more likely to hermie under stress (light changes, etc...) i am only increasing half hour over two days reducing the change So they can cope better. the autos don't really matter since they flower regardless of photoperiod. Basically I'm favouring my two young photo plants over my crummy but yummy autos...does this make sense? Hope so lol..

KiG :green_heart:cheers

Yup makes perfect sense buddy! Just wasn't to sure what the reason was at first. But now I getcha. Keep up the good work!

OK, I've got to get these photo ladies up to pace here... These two are going to be my next batch of photos, they'll join Ellabella and Winnie in the photo tent. They're temporarily in auto tent but were and will return into the photo tent. This is going to be a picture only timeline, sorry.. Any questions please feel free to ask.. :Namaste:
