that would most assuredly be a disaster some investors lost a few bucks there very sad------
That was a Hemp Field that got hit with hail.
Likely not very widespread damage thankfully.
Here's a quote on the loss:
"
Deschutes County Farm Bureau President Matt Cyrus, who also operates Triple C Farms, a hemp farm near Sisters, estimates that 400-500 acres between Cline Falls and Tumalo were either damaged or destroyed – amounting to an estimated $25 million in losses.
Most of the hemp acreage in Central Oregon is dedicated to CBD production and planted with feminized seed, which averages $1 per seed, Cyrus told
Hemp Industry Daily.
“That’s an early estimate based on 500 acres at $50,000 an acre,” Cyrus said."
Say what??? $50K an acre?? Woah I'm growing the wrong variety cannabis and they are fem seeds!
Thats freaking awesome. I was worrying they were using REG seeds and making seeds with pollination. So if my neighbor decided to grow hemp instead of corn, Id have to build myself and clean room to grow in cause pollen ever where.
Not many farmers had crop insurance on the hemp they were growing that got damaged.
That sucks - they gotta do bankruptcy. Now the bank gonna own the farm. Thats gotta suck bad.
Sticky you pissing on the buds again?? Bud washing will be a big help come trim time. lol
Urea is a thing. Its cheap can buy it at the local feed store for pennies a pound.
