A quick pic-update..
The girls are going well. The LSD has gone nuts; she's really stretched out and is covered in bud sites. Just a nice, vigorous, healthy looking plant that just keeps getting my hopes up. She'll be a decent yielder, whatever the quality of the smoke.
TNTK is a little bit behind in overall development, and the spacing is a bit wider, but she is stocky and solid looking: I'm hoping that this is a sign of the huge flowers that I'm gonna get!!!
A big difference in the LSD in just a few days, and only 2 weeks since flip. Flowering has been in full swing for about 5/6 days, with flowers now prominent all over both plants.
I gotta get in and do a light defol after stretch... The LSD esp. is very leafy...

The fruit salad thing has stuck in my head, so I'm gonna do a Strawberry Amnesia (keeping an eye on Blazes one!), a Pineapple Chunk, and a Blueberry. Actually quite excited about it; can't wait for the smell in that cab when all three are in full-swing!
Assuming I get my new bean order, it'll be a Golden Tiger regular seed grow early next year. I want to make some more GT seeds, and, ultimately, more pollen, for trying my hand at basic "breeding" (I'd like to cross the GT with an LSD, just for kicks..). I'm a natural-born tight-arse, so I might only drop 3 of the 5 GT regs...
But I know I'm probably gonna have to drop all five to get (hopefully) at least 1 male. Which means I have to chop at least 1 or 2 females, as I don't have the room or the time...but worth it if I get a handfull of seeds to play with. I'll be a Male pheno-hunt! If I get enough seeds/pollen, I'll chuck some at every grow!

I was embarrassed to realize I'd never seen your journal, so I read it. Your plants looked pretty good to me! You look like you know what you're going with the autos...
It's one of those things.. Damned if you do, damned if ya don't! At least now, you know for next time to just do it.
But I still reckon those plants looked pretty awesome!! When I first started thinking about growing, I was all gung-ho for autos. Looked like the next big thing; seemed obvious that that was the way to go for me.
I was a bit disappointed in the first attempt (except for one plant) at autos, so I went straight to Fems, thinking that 12/12 from seed is probably the same anyway, right??
But, now; some of the auto-breeders look really good. In a short amount of time, autos have really advanced, apparently.. I'm waiting (more later) on a couple of Mephisto seeds that I REALLY wanna try; and Fast Buds have some beautiful looking stuff. Eventually I might have another crack at some more serious autos, just for fun.
Been away for a while again; have some photos and some news: my last seed order arrived (quick, again.. Thanks, Seedsman!); but they messed it up a bit , and I never received some of the freebies, the ones that I wanted, anyway. These include the previously mentioned Mephistos Ripleys OG, RQS Critical Fem, and Barneys Critical Kush Auto.. They were cool about it, and they are on the way, I've been told.
My order was 5 Golden Tiger Regs (got 6); HSO Choc Mint X3; freebies are a couple each RQS Amnesia Haze (should be nice) and Seedsman Jack Herrer.
I also got (wasn't expecting) 6 Mosca Diesel Moonshine Regs, which I'd never heard of, and read that it is supposed to VERY nice smoke. The Moonshine part, anyway.
So I got a nice little collection going now...

The plants are chugging along; almost halfway. The LSD is looking very good; if she continues at this rate, there'll be some good flowers.
The TNTK...not so much. She seems stunted and under-done... Lots of brown pistils already, although I know that doesn't mean much at this stage... She's green and healthy looking at a glance; look longer and the leaves seem a bit malformed. Some of the leaves that I've clipped look very bad.. I think she might be a bit sensitive to over-feeding and defol and/or pruning. The LSD on the same nutes looks pale but is thriving; the flowers plump and covered in pistils.
It is what it is. Another week or so will tell the tale on the TNTK. Only 4 weeks from flip, 3 since beginning of flowering, so plenty of time for a TNTK-comeback. I fed last nite. Might let them dry out a bit (the pots seemed a bit heavy last night), and a flush in a few days.
Hope the LSD can hang on without nutes for 3-4 days!!
Anyway, here are some pics. Got a real camera from a mate who was chucking an old one out. Not a bad little camera, but it doesn't like low light, and my old eyes have trouble with the tiny screen, so some of these are not perfect! This camera DOES do close ups better; I just gotta get better at it!

LSD looks like a bit of a nitrogen pig but still looks pretty good otherwise
Hopefully TNTK will get on track after you flush and looks like she should have some good fat flowers
Don't worry about missing my journal,was my first with no dramas but could have been so much better if I had more time in the garden but pretty happy with what it produced.
I've had my go with auto's and have enjoyed them but from now on I'm going to photo's so I can veg longer and 12/12 will help get my temps under control

Hey guys.. Quick-ish update..
Plants are OK.. The LSD is doing alright; still a bit pale, and the flowers small-ish, but 4-5 weeks to go (halfway), and they should start putting on some weight any day now.. They look nice. Won't be a huge haul, but she smells good, and there are a lot of flowers. Nice amount of frost on her; waiting for more.. Might chuck in a bit of molasses next feed..
The TNTK is not doing so well.. In the pics you'll see some leaf pics that look like (to me, based on a bit of research), leaf Septoria, which is from moisture sitting on the leaves and/or excessive high RH. I've removed o LOT of necrotic leaves..blotchy, rapidly yellowing with dried out-crispy dead end. Fast dyers..
But I don't have high RH, and I never water the leaves, so no moisture sits around on anything... I have noticed once or twice on all my grows where there WAS water sitting where two leaves were touching...so who knows how these things start...
I'm more inclined to think, though, that the "Septoria" probably an indication of root/Pythium issues due to the cold weather here. Min temps getting down to 8-11C. Turned extraction down to almost nothing, but...
There's no bad smell or anything coming from the roots (yet), so I guess we'll see if that's what's happening. Don't wanna risk making it worse by pulling her out to check. Gave them a mini flush, then emptied most of the res and let them sit for a few days; fed 2 days ago with a couple drops of H202, then emptied most of the res again but the girls just are not drinking.
The LSD, in that case, is clearly a nice, hardy strain. The TNT is obviously a bit more sensitive. She stopped growing about 10 days ago, and appears to be almost finished!!
I reckon I could harvest her and get away with it; the good news is that she is one of the best-smelling plants I have grown.. Just a really delicious, sweet almost-candy smell. The sugar leaves are purple-ing at the edges..And she is STICKY!
But 4 weeks is not enough.. Supposed to get warm again this week up here; in the sun it's nice during the day...
But in the shade or if a breeze picks up, it's quite cool (middle of winter, right?). But even here in sunny QLD, or at least where I am, the nights and mornings are getting down there. 4-5C last couple days, and there was ice on a puddle under my deck this morning.

I honestly cannot say that I've ever seen ice like that here... Very mild frost, occasionally, but I'm too close to the coast for ice!
ANYWAY. TNT Kush will either recover or not.. Academic now. Defo gonna have to come up with a heating solution for next year....
Reptile pad in the intake is an idea I floated once.. Pity I forgot! I always wanna have a break from growing over the summer due to the heat... Might need to think about having the winter off instead..

Leaf pics... These look good compared to some I pulled off.. Worse when there's ten just like it!
Decided to vac-bag my First Lady after about 6-7 weeks in the jar. It was around 62-3%RH.
Most of the stuff to the left will be smoked first; to the right, most of it (around 30g), will go into storage. Some nice buddage, if I say so myself, and it smokes up nice.. Final smell is like citrus/watermelon, if that makes sense... Smells great! Nice clean high, not too much body-stone. A bit of a creeper, which I like...
These are from yesterday and this morning..
Halfway mark. LSD should be good. Despite the colour, and the cold, she is still growing slowly. Her leaves are still pointed up and the flowers coming along nicely. I would have liked more flower size by now, but there is a lot of sites and a lot of time left. Maybe that means I'm still not quite at half way... Should get a bit warmer soon, so fingers crossed for a growth spurt.
Otherwise, it's all good. I'll pop new seeds in the next few weeks no matter what; maybe give em 20/4 light until it warms up more.. If I am forced to harvest the TNT early, then so be it. She'll smoke up okay.

Just a quickie today.. Been flat out lately; day off today, and I gotta go babysit!!
Not so bad, but can't smoke all day! Also; I gotta engineer it so I go there, as opposed to him coming here.. His mum (my sister) doesn't know I grow. Can't risk even the smallest chance that he's here if something happens..
She DOES know I smoke, so I usually lay the old "I'll be tempted if I'm home" on her... Which IS the truth!!

Girls are still hardly drinking, but they are growing. The LSD is getting plumper and sparklier; she's looking like she's gonna have some nice fat flowers.. She looks like being a good 3-4 weeks away still.
TNTK is still looking like shit, but I double-checked, and she's a 7-8 week flower-er (I always guestimate 8-10....more inexperience showing; wasn't ready for a quick flowering strain..), which means she's got 3 weeks MAX... Probably more like 2 weeks.So my root-rot scare was just the plant starting to finish up!!

The cold and/or my pruning definitely stunted her a bit; she never really stretched that much (looked so strong and branchy at end of veg..thought she'd be huge..), and the flowers are quite small.
Still, she smells great. Very frosty. Nice colours, with plenty of plurple, and the dying leaves really show that up.. Temps have come up a bit with ambient weather, but MINs still in the 10-12C range. Looking at heat-mats on fleabay. I reckon they'll be perfect. only need 5C rise in lights off...

The last lot with the black background were taken yesterday morning.
Could pull that TNTK anytime. Trichs are almost all cloudy, with a few amber/degrading. Gonna give it one more week, then maybe flush, then into darkness for a full week. Probably should start flushing now, seeing as she's not thirsty at all anymore...If the trichs are deteriorating more quickly by this time next week, in the box she goes, and chop her in two weeks.

these lights require more cal-mag.. little toxic-burnt one I'd flush now with ph adjusted water and just give her plain water with some sugar if you choose for next week...

Hey, guys.
Another long absence; usual excuses.. Hectic lately!!
Harvested the TNTK, and to my shock I got an ounce bang on after 4 days drying. Decent smoke, too. Strong, as promised, but not too strong. She'll cure up nicely. At about 140 grams wet (chop) weight, I was expecting her to shrink down to 15-20g, so the 28.8g she weighed up at yesterday, after a day in the jar, at about 70%RH was a pleasant surprise. Some solid little nugs! I left a lot of the leaf on, cos she's so frosty.
LSD has gone into the dark for a few days. She swelled up very well, finishing up almost twice the size (overall) as the TNT. Fox-tails everywhere, she's also quite oily; hoping a few days in the dark will improve that a bit, and it will take her to the breeders max flowering time of 9 weeks, so hoping she'll also swell up a bit more.
I'm getting a bit better at guessing dry weights, so I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the LSD should be close to 2 zips. I be happy with a ounce and a half...
New girls on the block are Dinafem Strawberry Amnesia and Seedsman Blueberry, both at 2 weeks old today, and a Barneys Farm Critical Kush Auto, planted in desperation after having 2 of my precious Pineapple Chunk seeds fail to germinate. Cracked, then nothing.
Pissed me off enough to say I'm over Barneys Farm. I estimate 80% of all my seed failures are Barneys alone. Allowing at LEAST 10% being directly my fault, and the other 10% being bad luck (too cold; unknown contaminant or just normal seed failure; whatever reason), among the 2-3 other strains that have failed, that's pretty fucken woeful!
Even if half of the BF failures are directly my fault, which is, let's face it, more than possible, I've had 5 Lib. Hazes fail; 3-4 LSDs; these 2 PCs and another one earlier I think..
All the Libertys cracked, then damped off. Just like these two PCs. Exactly the same.
One the other hand, the Straw. Amnesia sprouted in 24 hours!! Blueberry was a day behind, in the same dish (2 tea cup-saucers taped together into a "clam"; paper-towels, spritz or 2 of water on each layer).
Speaks volumes to the differences in quality. I grow a lot of different strains and breeders, and Barneys is the most common breeder I tried to pop. Maybe that's why I notice it...
But I don't think so. Almost every other strain I tried, which is adding up to quite a few now!!, has been noticeably faster and easier..
OK enough whinging.

This is the TNT Kush.. Doesn't look like much... 28.8 grams just before this pic was taken. After a month in a jar, I reckon she'll be just over or just under 28 grams.

Yeah.. I'm at the point now where I just grind it all up.. I take off all the fans and this time with the lsd, I'll just trim off the long yellow bits sticking out of the bud and that'll be it.

Hey, ya'll....
Not much happening at the moment..
Ruined my latest girls by having them too close to the light at 100%... Stunted them... Took me a while to notice, obviously!
They were looking terrible, and with 5 nodes out at only 3 inches tall, something was not right.
Took me too long to figure it out. Still got 'em; they've come back after adjusting. I'll push em into a corner and hope for a gram or 2..
So I'm pushing ahead with the Golden Tiger. Probably won't be done by xmas, but what the hell.
I'm gonna pop all my GT regs also; try to get some more seeds!! And some pollen. So fingers crossed I don't fuck this one up..
Got bang on a zip and a half; bit less than I wanted but what I kinda thought originally.. Damn I hate the shrinkage!
Smokes up very nice. Not quite "trippy", but a little bit intense...not necessarily in a bad way.. I like it. Makes you feel alert.. Nice and strong!
Photos are LSD pre-chop, and a few of the new girls about when I woke up to the stunting.. So yeah; 2 weeks ago!
