What a difference three days can make:

Still plan on the 12/12 on Monday, they're going to be little beasts when they grow up:

Beautiful girls! Super impressed with those 3 days of growth. Hope you got that top up as high as it will go now, you're gonna need it in a few weeks.:welldone:
With any other strain I would, but from my experience last grow, the Gigabud didn't stretch very much, that's why I'm vegging for two weeks before 12/12. I would normally go straight 12/12 from the cloner, but I wanted to get these to about 18 inches tall total. We'll see if they "reach for the sky" when I hit them 12/12 next week.

Thats hydro+led+12/12 for ya. Them things go crazy at that stage, although you already knew that. They look grand, thats for sure. Those GIgabuds are gonna yield much better this time around now that the canopy is even with a good light distance. Cant wait to see the fuzzies!

Re: Stevehman's Advanced LED's Height Test, 720w, Gigabud, Grow 5.0

Ok, the girls are in 12/12 now, and a good thing too. I don't know if I would want them vegging another day. THey took off in the past 3 days. If you look back to the pics from Friday you could still see some of the NFT system in the pics. There was a little bit of space between them. But, again...what a difference 3 days can make.

Can you say Sea of Green? This is going to be an incredible yield.

Here is the way the stalks are shaping up. It looks like the girls want to put on some wait and are getting the cankles to prove it:

And a quick shot of the roots and the inside of the NFT tube, lots of action from the spray lines.

I'll be changing out nutes today and will get the number up on that as well.

Re: Stevehman's Advanced LED's Height Test, 720w, Gigabud, Grow 5.0

What amount of nuts are you giving those girls!! FFS they are growing fast.
Just following the CES schedule, they are getting about 1100 PPM of the transition mix. I will replace 1/2 of that with the bloom mix and continue that every two weeks until I get to the last 2 weeks when I will replace 1/2 of the nutes with straight R/O water.

Re: Stevehman's Advanced LED's Height Test, 720w, Gigabud, Grow 5.0

Love those roots!

You have such a productive set up it looks like you will crank out some crazy weight for sure!

Do you plan to defoliate any fans or go al natural?
I'll trim away the lower fan leaves and do some light trimming on day 21 of bloom. I may also trim out some of the smaller interior branches to get some air flow going through them. These are already 4 times bushier than the last grow. The added two weeks of veg made a huge difference.

So you did 2 weeks rooting in the EZclone, 2 weeks veg in the EZ clone and 2 weeks of veg in your flower chamber. Would you do it this way in the future? Perhaps 3 weeks of veg is the happy medium? Did you add HEPA to your setup? I remember last time you had bud rot on one bud?

I think 1 week of veg, these things are really getting bushy, although I think I would only FIM them once or top them twice. I may have gone a little over board on that end. I don't think more than 2 weeks of veg would be recommended at least for this setup, since I have a height restriction. If it were a stretchier strain, I would try to keep them as short and bushy as possible before flower. If I had vegged the P-chunk last round for 2 weeks, it would have been a lot taller and out of control.

I don't have a HEPA filter on the intake, I should do that, but I will have my ozone generator in a week (on back-order) and will run that outside the area. The ozone should kill the mold and mildew spores before they get into the chamber, I also will give them a spray of some STS as well, just as a prophylaxis. I don't want this grow having any issues bud rot, and the G-Bud has insanely thick buds, so I will take every precaution I reasonably can.

Good to see you working on another great grow. Can wait to see the turn out. It already looks nuts.
it's almost growing too well. They are way bigger and fatter than I had planned. I should have vegged for 10 days before the switch. It is going to be bud-central in there very soon. I did the res change today to the bloom mix. I'll post numbers and pics tomorrow, it seems to double in size every 3~4 days. Explosive growth would be an understatement.

Last shameless plug for this month's contest. We are almost 100 votes for the month. The Gigagbud is trailing by 2 points. If you thought she was a pretty girl, please get out there and vote. If you thought she wasn't, then vote for the best looking in the group. Just vote! The link is in the sig block below.

Voting ends today!

Day 3 in 12/12:
PPM: 1012
pH: 5.95
EC: 2.022
Res Temp: 67
temp: 81
RH: 63

I did my res change yesterday and the pH dropped down low due to the Plant Amp, they actually say that it will drop the pH and it will rice as the plants uptake the chelated calcium. It went from 4.74 to 5.95 today. I'll give it a check again tomorrow morning to ensure it stays in range. It usually stays in the right zone after it settles down.

The girls are drinking a lot of water and transpiring like crazy. I will trim some of the fan leaves today and tomorrow to get some more air movement going. The RH is a bit on the high side. For veg the range is 60-70 and flower 40-60. Since it just came out of veg and is transitioning to flower I am not overly concerned, but I will want it lower in the next two weeks to reduce any chances of mildew or rot.

I added some measuring charts and placards in the space so that you can see the amount of growth. I need to put a tripod in there for the next shots, so they are all at the same vantage point. All of the plants are in the 12 inch range so far. and getting quite thick. I would have to say that so far this is my best grow.

I am hoping to out-do the 20+oz yield of the caramelicious grow with this one. I think it will be close to 24 oz, that is my first guess.

Here are the plants under the three lights. I have three 360s in there. Overkill, well...yah. One is a control light, that is light B, Lights A and C are the test lights. I've also made a checker board of 1-inch squares so you can gauge the size of the tops.

Here is Plant A:

I will have to use my better camera for future pics, it has a massive flash unit and will get better color. I've color corrected these as best I could, but the pink is pretty strong still.

I also thought I would put up a snapshot of the log I use. It's a simple excel spreadsheet. The cool thing about excel is, you put the date in the top square and then the one below it you tell it to +1 and it fills in the date. Copy that cell and paste it to all the cells below and you have your calendar set. You can do that with the number of days as well. When I flip to 12/12 I just put a 1 in that block and it automatically renumbers all of the subsequent blocks. If there's a way to post it for download I will put it up, but I don't think there is.

log_31Aug.JPG

You can see from the log, I haven't checked the numbers for a few days. I find that once the system is set and running it takes care of itself. I really only do frequent checks after doing a nute change. I'll be checking every 3 days now though to make sure the PPMs stay in the 1000-1100 range.
