Stevehman's Advanced LED 360 vs. 180 - Multiple Strains - NFT Grow 4.0

Steve,
Those buds look beautiful. I love watching your grows! Always learn alot from this thread.
Hope you don't mind this part of the post. 420 readers! Your should go vote for MOTM. I see lots of people post and praise Steve all the time. Let's show some support for him by going to vote! He deserves a good showing in the voting! Just vote!

I love your numbers, and your photos :thumb:
A grower I know killed his entire grow with CO2. You seem to have a handle on discrete use, but meters are good. I found CO2 Meter - TIM10 CO2, Temperature & Humidity Monitor - Monitor product by AZ-Instruments online, and wonder how well it works: most cost more. I've seen cheaper, but my bookmarks should be on 'Hoarders: Buried Alive'.
Thanks Propa Gator,
I am not trying to over do the CO2, just a little to help with the higher heat and maybe it will help to increase yield. I have considered hooking up a DIY chill box to the setup to lower temps, but they are looking great so I am holding off to see if temps get much higher. I've read that up to 90 deg with CO2 is about the limit though, so if we see increased temps here in S.D. I'll add another DIY to the grow.

Heck, I should take all of my DIY projects and post them as a separate thread in the DIY section, but that will have to wait until I have a bit more time.

you take good pics ;)
GSL,
Thanks for the compliment, this isn't even the good camera. just my point and shoot. I need to add some white light in there to get some better color balance. I have a bunch of 500w work lights, I may use one just to light the area for pictures, I'll give it a shot to see if it does the job. If it doesn't I'll buy a T5HO stick light to put in just for photos.

Kotton Mouthe,
Thanks for the kind words. I think this month is going to be a Captain Kronic sweep, there's always next month. I think the good Captain has been a huge contributor, so I don't mind coming in second to him.

Besides, I'm here for the growers. I learned so much from many of them that I feel it is only right to give back when I can. So, I try to write an informative, objective journal so that others can possibly learn something from my experience. I know that I continue to learn from reading other journals as well.

It would be really cool though to see much higher numbers on all of the monthly contests. So far there are only about 30 votes total on the polls, which considering we have so many members that are here, we should have hundreds of votes.

Although, I never even knew about the polls myself until this May when Hydro nominated me for MOTM, then I realized that the members have a voice in deciding who gets recognition each month. I considered placing a thread in the FAQ section to "inform" other members about this feature, but I think it would come off as self-serving.

Thanks again!
:Namaste:

The CAP XGC controller has fuzzy logic, so the way I understand it lets say your CO2 level is getting low but your temp is also getting high, it will run the vent and wait until the fan is off to start the CO2.

Wow, for $850 it better get me a caffe latte and rub my feet. I think that is a bit overkill for the current setup, but once I get to stage 4 (I'm on stage 1 still) I will get that along with a water cooled propane CO2 generator. Stage 4 is still a year off though.

Thanks for the link though, and thanks for stopping in, I haven't seen you in a while.

It is around for 650, just not from a sponsor. Your on stage one? You have done so much stuff to be on stage one!
Stage 2 is expanding to a tent (Big Ass Tent, also BAT).
Stage 3 is building a 24 site undercurrent system
Stage 4 is a dedicated room (10x12 or bigger) for flowering with complete climate control systems with two of the 24 site undercurrents systems running.

So I am still in stage 1, or maybe 1.5. I have big plans for the next 12 months, just taking it one step at a time.

Although that may all change in 2012, if California passes a bill to legalize....

I'm like, on stage 5000 man....RoorRip RoorRip

(I'm also medicated like fuck) :bong:

Im liking the bud shots!! you've got some massive trichome frost all over the place. And you still got a ways to go. I was wondering does your 200w led have any of the UV bulbs like the Advanced led? wondering if maybe the UV lights could possibly make a difference in resin production and potency.
Magic,
I thought I answered this, but I missed it. Yes the 200 has all the same spectrum as the other 2 lights. Just a little bit different setup and lens config. I hope to be able to give more details on it once I get the go-ahead.

I decided to take a few shots as soon as the lights went of this morning. I used a 500w halogen work light to provide a good source of white light. It really shows the true colors and the frostiness of the buds.

Here's just a bunch of random buds, no particular order.

I think this is going to be a very nice crop. I don't expect to achieve the same yield as last grow, since I culled the 6 Twilights earlier. I really like the way the P-chunks are looking. I may do a SCROG run with them as the second grow in the tent (once it's here and setup), so that is still 12-16 weeks off before that grow occurs, I still have to flower out the current moms and extra clones so I can get onto the next group of seeds in the seed bank.

@JZ, I need to figure out how to get in that express lane with you to stage 5000. I feel like I'm in a Prius in the right hand lane sometimes.

@Crower, I can't wait to have more space to expand. Space is my major limiting factor at this point. All in due time though, I am a patient person. When are you going to put up an update with some pics? Looking forward to seeing those carms all fattened up. Don't forget NOTM for next month!

I would say I am on stage 1 as well! It will be fun hitting stage 2 for sure!

When I turn off my CMH HID, I've to wait a full 15 minutes before turning it back on for a re-start. I don't do that to work inside, so... I harm my eyes.
LEDs don't use heat to emit, and turning it off & on repeatedly will not harm it. Check with the guy who sold them, but I see no reason to stress your retinas just to work in there. Rig a few little CFLs for house lights like in the theater? Side lights for photos or work.
