Stevehman's Advanced LED 360 vs. 180 - Multiple Strains - NFT Grow 4.0

hey can i consider tossing my scrubbers and noisy fans in favor of one of the ozone-making jobbies ??? a quieter grow would be less heatbaggy for me & make me sleep better @ night lol

Nice grow Stv...RESPECK !! =D

Ozone generators have too many negatives in my opinion. Ozone is harmful to people, can burn plants, and breaks down in to oxygen.. which is a waste product in out business. Carbon filters on the other hand increase airflow and therefor CO2 exposure to the plants, and has no downsides (besides the noise). If noise is the problem try going up a size or two in diameter and lowering the RPMS.

I have read a few things today and agree with you all, it is in large quantities, my unit is the smallest that they make and I am only on the Grow Room twice a day. Health Wise I feel that it is safe if you monitor the amounts.

Maer, I just noticed that was your 420th post. I hope you RoorRip up for the occasion.

God, those buds look delicious. Call me a perv, but I can't wait for more bud porn from you. Make sure to take pix just before harvest! :)
LEDman,
I'll take plenty of pics on harvest day and throughout trimming. Since it's a comparison grow, there will be plenty of photos taken, and weights and all the relevant data. Probably a week away from the chop.

Steve, Dude you got it cranking in there my friend. Got a question about the undercurrent system u are going to build. What type and size buckets are u going to use? I have been thinking about building one, just can not find the 8 gal. buckets like the pre-fab site uses. don't know if a round bucket like the 5 gal ones would cause a problem in flow. Of course there is always kitty litter buckets. They just need to be sanded and painted to make a more light tight root house. If you need to PM me because someone might not be a sponsor that is cool too man.

PM sent. I plan on using 4 gal square pails for the grow pots and then a 27 gallon tote for the control res. I am still a couple grows away from building that system, but it's coming.

Steve - I've got the same plans for down the road, and I can't wait to see how yours turns out. I found a great diagram of how the CCH20 system works/is designed that I'm going to use as a basis. Unfortunately, I went another direction before I found out about the undercurrent thing, but I feel like I'll end up doing that eventually. It's about the nicest hydro system I've seen, personally.

Oh, and nice growing as always my friend! :thumb:

One thing I forgot, in a humid environment they create nitric acid.

I think that is only an issue with the corona discharge types. I don't think the UV units have the problem, and they produce much less ozone than the CD units, which may be a good thing in a smaller space where you may be sharing the air with your plants.

Whew! Took me a few days but I finally got caught up on grow 4.0! :cheertwo: Steve as always your work is to be admired. Glad I got here before harvest! Your last grow was my motivation to buy an Advanced 180, I can't wait to see how your ladies finish!

Getting ready to submit a picture for Plant of the Month. I'm torn between the P-Chunk:

And the G-Bud:
DSCN0228-1.JPG

Any input? I was leaning towards the P-chunk, but then I saw how thick and full the G-bud is looking and it has 4 fat colas on top. Tough choice.

Choices ohh the choices from the two pictures u have to view the color and photography is better on the g-bud. The p chunck looks like a winner as far as the plant goes. Maybe u coukd.snap a few more of each plant for q better colored pictures

POM really means plant photo of the month. White light is MUCH better for that.

P-chunk are tall and will fill nicely, but G-bud are chunky.
That shading finger of a trifling fan leaf serves only bad effect, and should be snipped. Light on bud fills the bud, not fan leaf production. On a pollenated plant, you need fans for seed energy because that's what's happening.
Look close at that bud, and see if the shaded bits are less mature than the sunny majority :hmmmm:

plants are lookin sick bro!!! if i'd have to pick i'd go with the g-bud.. but yea they both look real good, like i told Krip, im jealous, everybodys harvestin and im still lookin at the dead males in the compost pile in the back yard..good job man!!

I'll break out my good camera, flash units and back drop before I take the portrait shot for the POTM. I'll make sure to pull the hair out of their eyes (snip those leaves for Propa Gator), make 'em smile for the camera and get them in for the competition.
