Stevehman's Advanced LED 360 vs. 180 - Multiple Strains - NFT Grow 4.0

Density of trichome subjects on G-bud amaze me. I plan a flat SOG grow, and have a question:
Does it stink out loud? An intense zip-lock defiant olfactory assault is part of the 'bag-appeal' my market requires.
Pineapple Express cuts it, but may not give up a chunky single cola when grown @4 per sqare foot :hmmmm:

It's hard to tell if it is really stanky. The whole grow is very odoriferous, but hard to pinpoint the source, the P-chunk or the G-bud. Although my fingers smell very "piney" after touching the G-bud and "skunky" after touching the P-chunk.

I know what you mean about the "bag appeal" I was told by a BT that the caramelicious wasn't stanky enough. But it was so strong, the guy later told me that he felt like his body was covered in caramel (caramel-lock)

Steve, sorry I'm so late, man, but I just got caught up on the whole journal. Once again, you're doing a stellar job - not just of growing, but of documenting what you're doing, especially some of the more innovative things, in great detail so we all can learn from it. :thankyou:

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I spent some time in/around Southeast Asia (about 2 years worth), and that is some nasty smelling stuff. Supposed to have a custard like texture. Don't even get me started on balut. I think 2/3rds of the food was based on a dare.

There are several varieties of durian. The one imported here has a funky rotten onion aroma, but on the palate, its custard like texture strangely offers up a pleasant, rich sweetness. But trying it once was enough.

Hmmm... A while back I came across some bud that smelled like B.O.
Strangely it was very good. But for weed to be "durian dank" now that would be something!

so many pleasures, near infinite kind
new things to try or familiar pastime
avoiding hurry as this day goes by, and
not sniffing durian through my finite time :Namaste:

Day 54 in 12/12:

I did my partial rez change yesterday, replaced 8 gallons of nutes. I added 70ml micro, 160ml Bloom, 80 ml Uncle Johns, 80ml Plant Amp and 40ml Mag Amp. I took reading yesterday and today since the Plant Amp will drop pH down until the plants uptake the chelated calcium.

pH: 5.1 yesterday, 5.86 today
PPM: 1280
EC: 2.54
Res Temp: 65
Room temp (day/night): 83/79
RH: 47

All is going well, I had to tie up some of the buds since they are starting to get heavy and leaning. It is getting quite skunky in there, I need to buy an ozone generator before I do my next grow(s).

They are looking like they will be ready in 2 weeks. I am behind the power curve on prepping for the next grow. I need to cut clones today so that I will be ready to put them in the box in 3 weeks. So I have a busy day ahead of me. I don't think I will document the cloning process, since I've done that before and there is an abundance of information on cloning on the site.

Here are some pics (taken right at lights out with the work light):

One of the G-Buds under the 360, this was topped in the cloner, you can see the 4 tops growing colas.

A few photos are a bit fuzzy. I need to break out my big DSLR next week to get some photos for August's POTM and NOTM contests.

@leebee, that looks like the ticket. I may have to get the 300 model though. I expect things to get very stinky soon.

I just took 30 clones from the G-Bud mom and her daughter. They look decimated now. I went through and heavily trimmed all of the moms, cleared out all of the lower growth and internal branches and then gave them a good feeding. I need them to get some new growth and bush up s a little for when the tent is here.

I read, though it was some time back that ozone wasn't the stuff you want to breathe. O3 generators are good in external vent flow, but...

Daughter donor plants are moms, as good as seed-derived moms. The bastard term 'clone' gets people confused, like there's something magical or unique to vegetative propagation of cannabis.
Careful when you strip a big bush down, leaves must be left at the end of all branches, and cutting large stems risks creeping death. I suggest starting half-dozen new 'moms', and rigorously pruning to keep small; bonsai style.
Leaf-produced sugar travels down to the roots to keep them alive and growing, but just a few are enough to do. In three weeks, they'll need pruning again ;)

I was told on the larger models to use a timer so that you do not go over the safe limits. The units come with 2 test pads that you measure for 1 hour to determine your levels in your room. The 1000 unit test strip did not show unsafe levels until it was exposed for 12 hours.
It sure works great on odors!
:Namaste:

Very truthful words, Propa my friend,
"Clones" intimidate people , so propagations never begin.
Magical it is not, but many do fear,
to cut off a few branches, and wait for strong roots to appear.
From the seed comes life, but do not woe,
for blades and cloning gel are never your foe.
A snip here and there, and a clone is born,
a few months later, and an album of bud porn.
So to all there is only one last thing to say,
Propogate from a cutting, and try "cloning" some day.

-Peace and God bless, GT
