Steppenwolf's High Brix Grow

Fantastic bro!!!! Its a drag you had to yank them a tad early, however they look awesome. I'm looking forward to your first HB smoke report bro. It's always great to read someone first experience with a good HB buzz :) Just a friendly reminder, there is no cap you will continue to get higher until you fall to sleep. ;)

I'm happy you showed the buckets after the wash, I was kinda grossed out when I washed mine yesterday.

Thanks Curso! Yeah I was a little disappointed, but they still looked damn good. It is my mission to win the battle with PM. Doc has a new spray included with the newer kits that should help with insect and PM pressure. Ill get rid of it soon enough. I will get up a smoke report soon. I was kinda shocked at the first wash bucket, pretty crazy. Your journal is out of control by the way. I hope a few of my plants turn out as good as yours...

Sorry for your pm problem but looks like some tasty buds! Washington eh? Don't know how I thought your were up this way? Anyways great job!

Thanks Maine. I will get rid of this shit soon enough. Are you done cooking your soil for Doc's kit yet? I am guessing you are almost done. I cant wait to see what you can do with the kit.

Well, I fed the 8 plants that went into the flower room with energy. I learned quite a bit from Doc's updated "How to use the kit". I am excited to try some new things in the room. I went ahead and ordered 5 more kits from DocBud. Thatll keep me busy for a little while.

I have 3 600's right now and all of them are full of high brix plants.

I topped the Critical Kush clones a couple times. Those plants grow like crazy.

A couple of these needed a little water, and perked up right away.

These plants are going to follow the new directions for the kit and get cationic drench also. I am fired up for this round...

Here are a few bud pics. I think my pics are getting a little better. It is a little challenging dialing in my POS camera.

This was the large Critical Kush

This was the large Critical Kush that was aggitated in the bud wash too long, lol. I was on the phone and wasnt paying attention. The hairs on these buds are almost black. A stark contrast. Pretty cool looking. I did 3 branches at once and all the buds looked like this, with very dark hairs.

Pretty good for an early harvest?

I have 3 clones of the Large Critical Kush in flower now. I am going to grow them right this time and hopefully let them go 8 or 9 weeks.

Hey Steppenwolf!! Sorry I've been absent for a while but I have to say your plants are looking amazing. I feel your pain with the PM, I had 5 out of 6 plants wiped out by PM and its a very very hard plant ailment to cure. I don't really have suggestions to fight it once you have it but I've learned from experience that a few sprays of Serenade and SNS Fungicide throughout veg as a preventative so far has kept the PM away. I also never spray before lights out anymore (foliars), and only spray when lights are coming on which helps the plants dry out throughout the daylight period which also may help as a preventative. Also I found that if your plants are overcrowded or too much foliage is restricting good airflow, this can also help PM thrive.. Hope these tips help for future grows but It looks like you still got some good buds out of your harvest :) The rest of your plants definitely have that high brix shine and look to them and I am definitely rooting for your next successes in the making!!!! very nice job so far and excited to stay tuned :)

Yeah bro it looks pretty f'in nice if you ask me :high-five: How's she smoke? Probably be a great coffee smoke. I think when you get the new kit with the "pressure" spray you will never have another issue with the PM and all your plants will go as full of a term as you desire.

Honestly, I dont have much of a report yet. But, it is an intersting high. Very different from what I am used to. You almost think you arent very high, then you realize you are. Absolutely the smoothest smoke I have ever tried. I am going to let her cure a bit. Definetly tasty stuff. I am thinking the PM spray will solve my problem...

nice close ups!

Thanks King. I am glad you like them!

The small laughing buddah loved the Transplant feeding. She greened up a little and has bulked up more. She is getting frostier by the day. I noticed 2 male hermie bannanas on her. I trimmed them off with trimmers. I will have to do the daily inspection to make sure shit doesnt hit the fan. I have a feeling this plant is worth it. Fed energy to the Tangerine and Large Buddah. They are still yellowing on the fans, but bulking up as well. They should finish up well.

Everything else is stretching like crazy and looks super healthy. Brix on everything last night. Stay tuned.

PM and I are old adversaries. I appreciate all your advice. I followed along as you battled your PM. I will get rid of the PM, mark my words lol. Thanks for the positive words!

Steppenwolf,

Those pics of the buds were amazing! I'd like to see how Doc's Brix works for you as well. Subbed. Gotta a lot of catching up to do!

:Namaste:

Jeff

Thanks Jeff! I just was posting in your journal, I am looking forward to your progress. I am having a lot of fun with this grow. By far the best plants I have ever grown...

I quit fkin with pm last year. Bought a sulphur burner. Not much help once you've thrown the switch but if the climate is right for it to thrive ill burn one off as precaution before flipping.

Pm loves warm days, cool nights and shade. Try keeping temp drop minimal for now at lights out and thin the canopy a bit to allow more light and airflow. That in unison with high brix should leave it a bit dumbfounded at the least.

Sulfur burner will work for sure!

I've not had to deal with PM, but if it was a chronic problem for me, I'd get a burner pronto. My hydro buddy uses 'em.

Thanks guys for the help. I have a veg tent and veg closet. No PM in the veg areas at all. My problem is the flower room, I kinda have a perpetual cycle going and there seems to be something with PM in flower at times. I cut everything down with PM so I should be good. Would a sulphur burner work to burn one before flower? I mean could I clean the room out of plants. Clean the room all down, then run the sulphur burner? Then fill the flower room up again. Will the sulphur kill existing spores in the room?

I'd spray the flower room down with bleach. Floor, walls, ceiling.

Before you put your vegging plants into bloom, give them a good soaking with the spray I've included in the kit. Then, give them one more good soaking in like week 3 of bloom.

I'll be very surprised if you have any PM. Unless you're drawing air through a moldy blanket and cardboard....you shouldn't have anymore problem. You had less PM this go than ever before, correct?

The main thing is to keep the plants stress free, which you are now doing.

Will do Doc. I will spray down the walls and floors tonight. I am drawing air through filtered dust shrooms that have a light oil in them. It's supposed to kill bugs and mold before getting into the room. My problem is it is already in the room.

This is by far the least PM I have had. Also, I have 3 plants that still do not have it, they were right next to plants that did have it. I am confident I will get rid of it. I am going to be a happy guy when I get to report that that shit is gone. This kit has done wonders for plant health and I have never had a plant not get PM. So that is a huge improvement.

Whatever you do, don't start using products like Serenade or liquid copper! Concentrate on the health of the plants, not the demise of the PM.

One huge mistake people make is equating PM with humidity. They think if they keep it nice and dry, they won't get PM.

Not true! The plants become stressed if the humidity is too low.....bugs and molds love it.

Veg: without Co2

81 day, 75 night. 60-70% RH

With Co2

84 day, 78 night, 60-70% RH

Bloom:

with C02

84 day, 71-75 night. 50-60% RH

without

78 day 68 night 50-60% RH.
=======================================================

Now, for bud rot---which I've seen in my garden before----you want to stretch out some of those thick bushy Indicas. This can be accomplished by making it a little cooler at night, like 15-20 degrees cooler at night than during the day.

I tell you Doc, I have read so much on PM and the number one thing everyone says with PM is to lower the humidity. I went aganist everything I have ever known to increase the humidity, lol. I was happy I did though. The plants are obvoiusly healthier.

Currently the veg tent (when full, its empty now) was 79 day and 65 to 68 at night. Humidity was 60% to 70%. Plants in this environment were perfect. I mean the healthiest I have ever seen. I was raising the lights up almost every day. Its interesting that you brought up the low night temps and increased stretch. I left my windows open a few nights and this veg tent got down to 63 to 65 at night. The Critical Kush clones (heavily indica) really stretched out between nodes. I will snap some pics tonight.

The veg closet is sitting at 81 day and 75 night. 45% to 55% humidity. About the best I can do here, due to small size of space.

Flower room is 79 day 73 night. 45% to 55% humidity.

The low night temps to induce stretch in indicas is a pretty cool trick. I wish I was doing it on purpose. The one thing I noticed was that the HB plants really respond to environmental factors. I doubt I couldve seen such changes in plants feeding Fox farms nutes in perlite...

Those temps sound pretty close to ideal. I doubt you'll have much trouble at all.

The problem we all face is the 2 hours after the lights go off. Warm air carries more moisture than cold air. So, as the warm air cools when the lights go out, relative humidity increases considerably. It can spike over 70 pretty easily. If it gets too cold, too quickly, the dew point can even be reached, which is not good for PM.

What I've done is set a hepa filtered intake and a more powerful exhaust fan to go off when the lights go off. It sucks the humidity down pretty fast, but I still spike to 70 sometimes on a cool evening. It only stays there for a short time, due to the air exchange.

As far as my approach to PM....please understand I've never really dealt with it for a while. I had a small amount a long time ago and used serenade. I even baked the buds. But since then I haven't had it.

PM isn't a result of a good environment......so if we give the plants the best environment they can have, and grow them in a healthy fashion, we shouldn't have much trouble with disease and pests. And, in fact we don't!

Regarding relative humidity, please remember that these plants like tropical weather....plenty of humidity.

Pretty good for an early harvest?

I have 3 clones of the Large Critical Kush in flower now. I am going to grow them right this time and hopefully let them go 8 or 9 weeks.

Looks like a BPOM!

Thank you Maine and Graytail! I am happy with those, but they would've been quite a bit bigger had I been able to let them go a couple more weeks. Dispensaries will love it though. As it is, it is some of the best weed I have had. That ought to tell you something. Wait until you see close ups of the laughing buddah. That'll be something special.

And thanks for the reps Graytail. I am happy you are getting a kit from Doc. The best part besides the plant health is all the support from Doc and Curso, and everyone else here at 420. You are going to have a good time with the kit!

Time for a few pics during lights out.

I sprayed Doc's new PM/Insect spray in the new kits. Man that stuff smells like a lot of fish. All the leaves are extremely shiny today. That spray seems bad ass. I am now following the updated directions for the kit and doing feed, water, water, feed on the new plants in flower.

On the laughing Buddahs and Tangerine I am doing feed, water, feed also alternating Transplant and Energy. I am feeding a little more often due to the yellowing leaves. Plants look crazy, I am real happy.
