Step By Step Blueberry & Northern Lights Autos By Farside

Came home from work and whipped up a batch of Week 2 feed: 1/2 tsp Foliage Pro, 1/4 tsp Pro Tekt, and a couple drops of PH down to get me to my 6.5 PH target. PPM's were spot on at 290 giving me an EC of .58. Everyone got a half gallon.

My feeding regime will look something like this. I put it together for photo period plants so I will make adjustments for autos. I'm going to follow the vegetative growth schedule until I see signs that the plant wants to bloom. Past experience should put it around the 4 week mark, but in the event that it takes longer, I will duplicate week 4's feed until I see the change over. If it's sooner then I'll skip to the bloom feed (week 5 in the table and beyond) and run that until the plant is ready to harvest.

Im looking at your schedule, very nice btw, I notice you dont do a flush.

Is there any particular reason?

It's a belief that I picked up. It might be a bit contrarian but it's based on the idea that; if you don't overfeed your plants, you give them what they need in the ratios they need it, you won't have a bunch of excess that needs flushed out. You may notice that the EC of my schedule is much lower than other schedules. The second half of the belief is that you don't harvest fruits or vegetables from a dying plant (starving it to the point the foliage turns yellow) you want it to be healthy. Or, if you prefer, since bud is a flower, would you want a rose from a wilty dying plant or a thriving one.

Maybe I'm full of shit, but you asked the question so I answered. Its what I do but you can easily decide to discontinue feeding a week before harvest if you like and just give them water.

Day 8 photos. No dramatic changes but I'll keep with the trend of posting pics every day as long as I can.

Staying short thats good in my book.

My tent isn't that tall so I like shorter, bushier, plants too. Despite my best efforts of topping and LST, my last grow wanted to do nothing but go upward. That strain (Painkiller XL) won't be on my regrow list even though I still have 1 seed of her left.

Day 9 - Was going to take some pictures during lights out to get the true color of the plants but they looked sleepy and a bit droopy. Waited till the lights came back on and they perked up. Tried a color correction on the photos to get out the pink stripper light hue. Both Northerns are leading the charge and showing new growth. Blueberries existing leafs are getting bigger.

Day 10 - Northern 1 is starting to get a little height. Both Blueberries are staying low to the ground. Everyone is doing fine. They may be ready for a drink in the morning. After the half gallon watering on day 8 they've gone 3 days without needing more.

Was just going through my previous 5 journals and it looks like these are off to the best start yet, when comparing to where my other plants were at the same age. Evidently I learned something along the way.

Why is it that I'm only 11 days in and already I'm contemplating what is going in the tent next? If I had the space I'd have a whole farm full of plants.

Plan ahead. Im workin with clones so i know whats gonna be in my tent for a while. I just make another copy!

I haven't gotten to that point yet. I grow for the wife and I'm trying to find the best strains for her medical conditions (anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia). I haven't found the magic bullet as of yet, or even one strain that does an outstanding job at any one condition. Once I get something that she likes, I'll put it on the regrow list and can start cloning. Until then, it's new strains every grow. The Northern Lights in this grow is actually a regrow in a way. Its been one of the better strains out of everything I've grown so far, but it was also my first grow and I didn't do that good of a job with it. I'm hoping that with a proper grow, the wife will have even better results. Plus, it's been one of my favorites for "non-medical" use.

That's awesome!!! I just got some clones from a friend of mine and started on down the road. I got three to start so I'm currently flowering two and vegging / mothering one. I figured I'd learn with this one and make all the free copies I can while building my medicine cabinet. Once I've got a good handle on things then I can branch out and look to germinate seeds etc. I remember Northern Lights from when I was younger, Stoney Budz!! You can always clone one of your current ladies, one less cola today can be ten nice ones tomorrow...

speaking of trying strains, I once tried a higher CBD strain while on vacay in CO...it was harlequin or something. I sat on the back porch and vaped a little out of the 1/8th I was given. Did not feel a thing. Next rolled a huge (by my standards) cone with a gram of the stuff, smoked it, then smoked a few more rolls later that evening. 0 anxiety, so relaxed, and not stoned or high by any stretch. Very nice stuff and the easy my one and only experience with it.

You ever try something like that for the wife?
