Stealthy's NL/BB Hydro Grow

Ive been concerned about humidity levels lately as its so dry here and the air is flushed through my Cab so quick that its impossible to keeps RH up in the cab. I could buy one of those large $100+ units but its not in the budget and the wife would never go for it.

I do have a small ultrasonic humidifier in there now which mists the plants but the RH doesnt budge Im sure its risen in the cab but my thermo just doesnt read that low either way its not enough.

With the last run it didnt read any humidity until the plants got big enough to transpire then it was in the 30-40s...

Anyways heres a picture of the current set up bulb in middle off for pic.

Im going to be away for a about a week (house sitting) but Ill be back every so often to check em make sure all is good. But then im gone for another week out of the country.

Ive been running the same water in the rez since day 1 and its been just fine.
I just maintain acceptable PH and adjust the ppm.
I havnt been using H2O2 for the most part I added a decent dose on day 1 to kill any nasties I missed in the cleaning and I just added a decent dose today for good measure but looks as if it could do without to be honest.

I will due a rez change this week end its probably due(4 weeks) lol


And I will be designing and building my light hood to house the 2 bulbs glass is a must if im am to keep temps down.
I can keep these bulbs within about 5" of the plants no prob so with glass Im hoping I could cut temps alot.
I might vent it directly to the outside with a dedicated intake but I really need 4" flexy hose which I cant find I can only get semi rigid it looks like which is unacceptable.

Finally got a chance to catch up on your thread. Looking good. I love the way you tinker and build things, wish I had the space to keep my tools around. I have most of my tools and non essentials stored at my work. Really need to get abigger place soon. Great job, I'll check back in soon.

Hi Stealthy1 If you have the room put a couple of containers full of water in there open. It would raise the RH some. Gallon containers would do it.. Just a thought.

Yah I actually had to get rid of a lot of equipment and tools when we moved here Like my table saw and my large compressor... not to mention stuff like my staging and my truck so I feel like Im missing allot but I guess Ive still got more tools than some. I have trouble keeping them organized in such a small space much to the wife chagrin

Hi Med Man; have you actually tried this and had it work? I was having similar problems with RH and tried adding open containers of water - I used pans that had a larger surface area than a gallon container and it didn't make any difference. I tried adding an airstone and bubbled the water. Still no difference. Even tried using a fan to blow air across the top of the bubbling water. No dice.

There may be situations where an open container of water could work but if the airflow in the cabinet is moderate to high it won't help. I'm using a pair of small humidifiers on timers and they work well. Only problem is they won't run more than 4 hours without refilling - that, and they cost about $40 each. I set the timers so they run 40 minutes every hour - that way they can run for 6 hours each, cover the 12 hour light cycle and only need to be refilled once a day. Still, it's a pain and daily maintenance is required. Fotunately, as the plants grow the extra foliage adds humidity and it won't be long before the humidifiers are no longer needed.

Well after being away for a day I went back to check on babies and the the smell was very noticable which means my Carbon scrubber is in need of a change $7 later theres no smell again.

Im going to head home now and change the rez then Im packing some stuff and I wont be back for a week... Viva la Mexico... I got my cousin coming over mid week to check on them and raise the lights... hes the only one who know about the cab so he was SOL when it came time to find someone lol.

Ok so this is the last update for a while.

I couldnt change the rez tenant was home...bastard
I just added some water adjusted the PPMs and PH

I almost killed the best plant when I knocked my fan over on it... It lost 3 branches on one side but I think it will live. they are 10 inches tall already man they grow fast with this method.

Im now running 305watts of lights now.

It just hit me Im getting on a plane tomorrow hah...
Im so excited to go but almost as excited to get back and germ my NLxBB seeds and some bagseed I got from some excellent stuff that NEVER has seed in it Im guessing its fem because the grower only gets fem seeds just hope not all hermies

Wow just got in I had a blast but man im sick of Mexican food lol... well the food on the island at least not really authentic Mexican.

I had my cousin come move the lights up on thur and I discovered this deffinitely a sativa strain.
he moved the lights all the way up and they still grew into them.
I have the top bud burn on one of the [plants so I removed the burnt part and we smoked it even though it was tiny wasnt very potent though lol.
Im going to have to tie these things down theyre bigger than the cab now.
Ill get some pics tomorrow if I can Im starting classes.

I had some other secondary burns nuthin major and I did have to trim some lower branches.

The plants drank about 7 gallons this week good thing I told my cuz to top it off when he came.

I did get to change out the solution before the wife went to bed

my new digital PH meter wont read correctly so I had to ballpark it with the liquid test kit...
Im hope its just because some jerk didnt clean it right and then put it away wet for a week.

Ill have to check everything tomorrow and figure out what imma do with these lanky basterds how do you grow a 5 foot plant in a 3 foot box?


On another note When I was in Mexico i picked up some weed it was mexibrick so nuthing special I think I have pics of that too.

well 2 long females.
Basically had to top one thought the light had dried her top.

After taking a look at the situation it not as bad as I thought just not where I wanted to be...
But alas our realities rarely live up to our dreams eh?

This is one of the reasons I didnt want to use my good seeds because I was going away and was concerned something like this or worse could happen.
But on the other hand I know that my NLs wouldnt stretch like that so likely it wouldnt be an issue so maybe I was silly to er on the side of caution.

So does anyone have sugestions for waht I should do with these now Ill take some pics as soon as I can find the excedrin my head is pounding.

Ha! yah usually does. this stuff was actually very nice to smoke very light taste no real headache from it. very mild high really just mellows you out. but it takes a whole joint to get buzzed and it only lasts about 2 hrs.


My headache is from alcohol withdrawals we did drink from about 12pm to about 3 am for a week I didnt want to drink so much on vacation but those damn mexicans keep bringing you drinks...(all-inclusive resort )
Im from a family of alchys and we seem to become addicted to the stuff in about 2 days of heavy drinking.... doesnt effect my wife though.
the difference between me and the fam is will power well actually there allot of differences besides that lol...
We'll just say the apple fell far from the tree rolled down a hill into the ocean and floated to a different continent.

Still looking for camera its a mess here looks like suitcases just blew up in here took me an hour to find my phone charger....

I know what you mean about those Mexicans... I have it in the blood too!
My father and mother used to party! My Uncles were known for their drinking and partying, My grandparents partied and Drake, my cousins all party and drink Oh yeah..
Did I mention I am a Mexican? I come from a long line of Drinkers and Smokers but I am doing pretty good compared to others, I used to drink from morning to morning too, but then I got older and it just didn't do it for me anymore. I can't drink Tequila anymore cause I wake up naked in the strangest places.

Im trying to get my wife sold on the idea of moving to Mexico but the places she can work arnt really the places wed like to live and she makes all the money lol.

I drank like that for while and I was fine but but it was never sustainable and my life went down the drain for a while...
One day though I had "a moment of clarity" I realized I had no idea how to dig myself out of my hole. I packed all my stuff into my little race car (not all it wouldnt fit) and I drove 2000 miles and started over...

some people can do it... my body cant handle the alcohol anymore... I used to drink the tequila too straight from the bottle I used to buy the pints because I was underage and they were easy to hide but I would chug a pint in one go my buddies loved that. then ten minutes later I do another... then I just had to maintain my buzz by any means possible...lol
I cant even look at tequila now hah!
Now people call me a pussy because I just cant do anything besides vodka... mixed
But it doesnt bother me....much.

Some people can do it everyday like my sister but I burnt myself out on it.
