Next time you take a photo shoot of a plant or plants, try to get the lighting and scene the way you want it. Then take a shot, and if it is under or overexposed, adjust your camera settings and take another shot. Doing the adjusting to a shot like the one above that was overexposed a bit much to begin with, will be hard to edit and look natural. ie; too green or colors not accurate.
Ideally, we want it acceptable when we take the shot and little to no editing required. But we know that doesn't always happen.
