I am surprised you don't have a stash of horsetail ferns. Stuff is like a weed everywhere. Bob got me onto the stuff. Its in my soil for silica but I also have a bunch of dried stuff for ACT, top dress, or make a foliar tea...to prevent powdery mildew.
information that would have been useful 8 months ago when horsetail fern was growing in the parking lot lol
I had PM in Philly last grow and a brought a few cuts I have in flower showed signs again they have PM. My grow temps and RH is PERFECT finally. 40%-50%RH - temps 68F-72F every day all day. Everything new and clean.
I forgot about the HT fern tea - I'm gonna make some today and add it to my IPM. Thanks Urb for reminding me.
I read somewhere the sulfur will add a flavor that is hard to get rid of when in flower.
Someone may know better than I. Please shout out on the sulfur deal.
I've found that PM is hard as hell to get rid of.
Tools for the grower tool box:
Stylet Oil
Milk
H2o2 sprayed on the leaves diluted with water kill on contact
Serenade foliar
enzyme foliar - Tweetmint from BAS
short exposure to ultra violet light
Actinovate - Woody suggested
I've tried all these with exception to the milk. We dont drink it so I dont have any handy.
Several pronged approach to the PM is what I'm finding works best. I've been reading a lot about how grape growers deal with it. We got it easy compared to them. Its VERY common in grapes and will ruin the fruit and just about kill the vines. They use heavy duty pesticides we cant use in our homes.
GL with the PM.
ZkittleZ looks mighty fine. Gonna be a nice little haul there.
Thanks for posting the pics, making my mouth water. yum.
