Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

Thanks Derby......we only got about 10 inches....maybe a foot. But is supah heavy and knocking down power lines and trees everywhere.

Got the shoveling done (for the most part) and seems like my back and Ms Stank's elbow aren't too badly off. Course I medicated before I shoveled so time will tell.

Dinner is gonna be fun....shoveled our way to the grill. Bbq in the snow!

I made it through with power, but no one showed up to plow out the work truck...home today, working Sat...not happy :P

As to winter grilling, I live 10 min from McKinnons. I grill year round and bought a chest freezer to make sure I dont run out of beefy goodness :)

Hope you get power back soon!

Glad to here you and the misses are doing good. Keep medicating

If your soil is good and the microbes are active, it is very possible Joe. I haven't used a single granule of Earth Juice pH down this grow. I was skeptical to give it up, but the proof is in the pudding.

I think a huge help is that my letting my water dechlorinate for 24-48 hours and then brewing the Aerated Compost Teas, brings my tap water down from about 9.0-9.2 range....to about 7.6. From there nothing gets touched. Just my teas and the dirt they were planted in.

When I got serious about growing, it was my intention to be able to grow cannabis in my own soil using water only, no nutes. I am not quite there yet.....I still have used the Cal-Mag last grow due to over vegging because of mites and once on this current grow to fix my deficiency that appeared by running them too long in the 1 gallon pot. A couple more tweaks to my soil and streamlining my up-potting timeline and size and I think I will be just about there.

I hate giving my money to nute companies. I would much rather put in a little sweat into mixing up a top notch soil and be able to water every 4-6 days with my teas or water only.

My nutes are things like Kelp (plan on starting to harvest my own along the coast when it warms up a bit), worm poop, bird poop, Crab/shrimp/oyster shells, compost, and things of that sorts. I would love to get to the point where I don't really need to buy much of any of these things and I can produce my own or find them naturally.
That does sound very pleasant I’m not there yet but I like the sounds of it for sure sir

Don't have anything with just calcium. I have some gypsum and EWC. Got any organic ideas?

I was considering adding a little gypsum or oyster shell flour as top dressing with some EWC. Not much.....just a little every couple weeks. If anything it will help for future runs in the soil.
Egg shells baked in oven? Then grinded before sprinkle over top of medium then water ?

From what I've read that takes a long time to break down. It works if you're making organic soil though but it takes a while. The vinegar breaks down the calcium in the eggshells and makes it available immediately to the plant.
So your saying to add white vinegar to the egg shells before you bake them for 30 mins no around 175 f ?

You have to let it ferment in a jar for a while. Gimme a second and I'll find the original tutorial for you. It's on how to make cal/mag naturally, but if you just use the shells it's straight calcium. No need to pan cook them first since that adds phosphorus I think. [Got that backwards according to the link]

I'll edit this post as soon as I grab the link...

Can't you pulverize some calcite limestone to add calcium to your soil? That will add just calcium if my memory serves me.

Bad news.....while power is back up, we are still without internet/tv service. We are gonna be down here for a few days it seems. It's gonna impact our ability to do updates as well as visit your journals. Our cell service sucks where we live so we will check in minimally until our service is restored. Hope everyone else is up and running!

So had a pleasant surprise this afternoon/evening. I was sitting here trying to keep myself busy with the internet and TV still being down from the storm and all of a sudden all the electronic devices started chirping at me. I checked things out and apparently the service is back up! Woot woot....a couple updates coming....Harley's, Blue Dream, and Northern Lights!

Northern Lights Seedling Day 7

We are cruising along nicely with this classic girl. She will get her second drink of ACT tomorrow. Roots are really coming along nicely on this girl. I am excited for her! Just gotta figure out what I am going to do with her training wise in a couple weeks. I have a couple things in mind, but I am not committed to anything yet.

I expect to see her really start exploding with growth now that her roots are down to the Stank Soil. She enters 'Veg Day 1' tomorrow.

Blue Dream Veg Day 29 Update

Things are really rolling along nicely with this girl. She might be my favorite plant at this point in a grow. I am really digging her structure. My plan will be to take 2 clones from her at some point before I flip her. Will make some S1s with one, the other one I will come up with something.

This girl got a nice healthy dose of ACT last night, about 32 ounces. She was perked up beautifully this morning. She is supposed to have 2 more weeks in this pot but based on how she is growing I am not sure I am going to get there before she needs up-potting.

In the first picture, you can see her in front of Ms Stank's Harlequin (Veg Day 44)and then behind that is my Nukehead (Veg day 56). She is a stout stout girl that is growing quickly. She might become a handful if I don't watch her height here in veg!
