Van what kind of light do you use? I seem to remember you really liking it.
African Meltdown Seedling Day 1
Wanted to welcome the newest member of the Stank crew to everybody. It popped up this evening and uncurled a few hours later. Love the little curl to it. Not sure if its a fem or a regular so who the flip knows LOL!
Not much to say about them at this age. Been a while since we had one at this age! I love this stage!
What is the African meltdown???

Yeah thats because you won't get anything on it! Its a cross of Mozambique x Chernobyl that a buddy of mine gave me. So I named it African Meltdown. Supposedly very Sativa like with the wildness of the African landrace sativas mixed with the TGA Chernobyl strain which is also a Sativa.
Was kind of a spur of the moment drop cause I was pissed off at the dud Carnival seed. It was a backup drop to a drop that Ms Stank and I agreed upon if the Carnival didn't germinate. Well the backup strain's seeds were both questionable looking at best. So thats where at the last minute I saw the seed and thought "Hell, looks like a great seed so will likely at least germinate. Lets throw it in with the other seed and see what happens"
This african meltdown popped open and in less then a day in soil it was up. I am still waiting on the strain Ms Stank and I agreed upon to throw a tap root in the paper towel. Been sitting for over 24 hours and nothing. I didn't have high hopes for either seed from that strain. Will probably drop the other one into some water/h202 mix if this one doesn't throw a tap root by tomorrow. Maybe between the two of them we might get one to sprout.

I use the Fluence Spydrx Plus. It ain't for someone on a budget, though they do have their base model plain Spydrx (no Plus) which is a bit cheaper. I think the Spydrx has 5 arms on it while the Spydrx Plus has 8 arms.

Blue Dream Harvest Day 60
I know, I know. We had a plan right Stank? Yup until about 8pm when I looked them in the tent and almost every fan leaf was completely dead or almost dead. Drastic difference from when I put her in the tent last night. So it was a no brainer for me. Off with the mains. I will give the lowers however long they want. I think yield will be good for this one. I am guessing I took about 6 ozs dried off these mains. Not sure how much is left on the plant, guessing an ounce or two. My guess at this point is 7-8 ounces. Could be higher if I can get the lowers to bulk up a bit. There is a bit of potential but seems like the plant is just flat out running out of steam.
On a side note, none of the seed pods showing had any actual seeds. They were all just empty fluffy pods. Makes me think that the nanners on this were not viable. Will keep an eye out for signs of any. Overall very pleased with the yield (assuming my guesses are anywhere close) and this strain was easily the frostiest strain I have grown. Buds are big and solid. Smell is great.......but she nannered on me.
I do have one remaining cut from her in veg. I was intending on finding a spot outdoors for her but now that it seems the pollen is NOT viable, I might flower her out. Flower tent is getting empty. Guess I will decide what I will do with her after I smoke her. If I don't care for it, I will turn her into compost. If I like her I will either flower her out in the tent or I will find a spot in the woods for her.

Bonus Update - Northern Lights post Hair Cut
Spent a good bit of time up in the tent giving her a trim. She was really thick with leaves in the middle and lower areas so I gave her the overdue hair cut. This really opened her up for the penetration of the Spydrx Plus. Think this will help me have a shot at the pounder club. We will see in another 4-5 weeks!
This NL is crazy nice Stanks! Great spacing between all the colas and looks like light can get everywhere now with the haircut. Very few plants make me do a double take nowadays but she did for sure. Can't wait to see how this one finishes in the end.

Thank Ase....I appreciate it with her. She has been a special girl for me from the beginning. What you see is exactly what I planned when I started training her (minus the fact that a couple of mains didn't grow at the same pace as the others). I needed to get a fair amount of stretch from her to get the yield I want and I think I got about what I was looking for. I can't tell you how relieved I was after trimmed her and she looked how I wanted her to. I was texting Ms Stank when I was about 1/4 the way through with it, telling her how awesome it was looking. Hard to believe I only vegged her 70 days. Kinda crushing on this girl big time.

That NL is on day 25 right now. She has the potential to hit it. She stretched enough to give me big enough colas and I have enough of them that I think she will have a shot.
I know if I had a spot to train her a little better, I could have filled that entire 4x4 up with her easily. Her branches are just so thick as well. Hoping the colas will be as big as I think they will be. We will find out about the pounder club in about a month!

I was wondering about the carnival your dropped. Sorry it was a dud. That happens, even for the experienced growers. However the African meltdown sounds very interesting. Gonna keep an eye on that.

So the girls outside have a blast! They are at ms spirit her house since I can Only have 5 and they have a great Time!
The girl inside is doing good to! Hoping for a female tbh.
Since I made a bubbler a while ago I decided to test them and here we go:
The BlackBerry has roots so I tossed a few Tiny clones in that I cut during defoil. 3 ATF clones that is (and Two Acapulco gold)
Now I just hope I find places for these guys(girls!) in the future lol

Well I even dropped a second Carnival seed and it did less than the first one. The 2nd one didn't even crack open. Pissed but I kinda figured based on the appearance of the seeds. Gotta check the replacement strain and if hasn't done anything, I am going to drop the other one (looks bad as well so not much hope). Seriously why do breeders sell shitty looking seeds? I do have three more Carnival seeds left but I don't think any of them will produce a plant. If neither of the replacement strain pop, I think I will throw all three remaining Carnival seeds in water and roll the dice.
I brought up the 70 day veg time cause thats about the same time that the Blue Dream and Nukeheads vegged but look at the size differences. My general goal is about 60 days veg.
