Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

Blue Dream Flip Day 48, Day 40 With Hairs

Starting to see a bit of fade hitting this girl's leaves the last few days. She looks like she is wanting to finish on the quicker side I am thinking. I actually like when they lose a lot of their leaves on the back third.....makes trimming much easier.

Gave this girl a big drink of ACT yesterday. Its been really hot and muggy here today and she looks like is pissed off about it. I think we are gonna be cooling down starting tomorrow so hopefully that will get her back to being happy. She is scheduled for her final top dressing on the next watering.

Congrats on the harvests, Stank family! Seeing Ms Stank's harlequin and then reading the stats perked me right up. Definitely on my wish list, so please update us with a smoke report when the time comes!

I'm curious about the cobbing too. I'm a newbie with everything it seems! Except the smoking part. Old hand at that lol. Anyway, how do you get the temps up to the low 100s? I assume you're talking Fahrenheit. My oven won't run that low, and it's "only" in the upper eighties and nineties outside here. (Of course, if you live in the Phoenix area, you could leave it in the garage during the day!)
Glad you asked that Mac. Here is what I use to make it happen. Works well for us. You will need a seed germination mat, 2 or 3 towels, thermometer, and a humidity or germination dome.

I put a towel down on top of the germination mat. Then the humidity dome with the thermometer goes on top of that. Close any and all vents on it. Wrap it tightly with one towel (assuming its big enough) and give it about 2 hours for the temps to stabilize. If its not at 104 or above, add on a 2nd towel to insulate it better and the temps should rise to the 104-140 range. Here is what it looks like.

Do any of you fine ladies and gentleman know if lacto bacillus serum will speed up or possibly ruin the process of a fermented fruit juice (banana FFJ in particular)? My LABS are only a day away from being finished up and im looking to make up another bottle of "magic" so to speak. :slide: I'm sure ive heard of LABS helping get a fermented plant juice going but wanted to clarify and be sure, as its going to be my go to for late veg/early flower boost! Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately I don't really know much about LABs at this point (yet....its in the notes to learn when I have some down time). I am sure @bobrown14 might be able to shed some light on the question if he swings through (haven't seen him in a while either).

Hey CK, good to see ya brother. Thanks for the kind words man. Always fun when things are going well, ain't it!

There really isn’t a better feeling than smooth sailing and no waves in sight I’m finally bouncing back after my mite ordeal of like 4 months lol. But if we don’t go through problems every once in a while then are we really growers? Lol

Thats about how long I battled them the previous go around. They are enough to destroy a growers will to want to go on. We aren't even allowed to say the "m" word here in Stankville. @Guy Cavallero just finished up a nasty battle with them as well. Glad things are smoother sailing for ya now!

Hey all, you caught me during an ‘alert’ period! @LaquerHead youre right that you’ve read the LABs will accelerate any FPJ, definitely. I can’t see how it could ruin it unless you use way too much, maybe. The only time I’ve ruined one, it spent too much time in the sun plus I had added sugar to the labs for storage. I no longer add the sugar. It’s not necessary and can lead to a higher quantity of the less desirable bacteria. These days I leave out sugar at the end of the LABs process and store it in the fridge. I think it’s much better :thumb:

So yeah - LABs will accelerate your FPJ. Too much sugar is bad (so considering it’s banana I would advise against using any sugar in the LABs). And don’t leave it in the sun!

One day I’ll make it back to your journal to check it out L’Head! Haven’t been up to date with this one for awhile either! Hi VS and Ms S :ciao:
Now that Shed has catapulted me to the current page... I’m sure I’ve probably missed some action with the Blue Dream... (and the rest...)

Happy weekend everyone :ganjamon:
Thanks Amy! I knew you'd have good info :thanks:

@LaquerHead asked me elsewhere just now about ratios of application once the LABs is ready so I thought I’d post it here as well in case anyone’s interested.
... as an accelerator for your fermented plant juices, if that's the way you're going, or just add it to your feedings and/or foliar sprays - it's a great anti-fungal.

@MerryAnna’s guide for use is this:
  • soil feed: 15-30ml /gallon of water
  • foliar spray: 15ml /gallon
  • compost activator: 30ml in the heap
  • making Fermented Plant Juice - add 30ml to the FPJ mix, quicker fermentation and less smelly by FAR.
  • Fermented fish & seaweed extract: add 30ml to yucky stinky fish mix to lessen odour
(I think i've used it a bit stronger 1:10 in soil feed and 1:20 in foliar - my plants seem happy. I've used it in nearly every feed since mid veg and nearly every foliar too. And it was used in the seaweed ferment and the stinging-nettle ferment that I made)

The LAB is an organic, anaerobic bacteria culture which quickly digests biological waste, so you can even use it to unblock your drains... I've tried it - it works. You can also use it as a diluted spray around the house to eliminate odours (it's the true odour eater!). I go though it - which is why I made a double batch this time.

:Namaste:
And if anyone wants guidelines in how to make some, I have them somewhere, so just ask :thumb:

Going back now to scope the BD update Van - seems my timing is perfect :) I’ve been quiet for a bit cause of an illness flare up - passing now. Impressed that you noticed :smokin2:

:Namaste:

What a beautiful Blue Dream Van! :high-five: Made me want to drop a seed, but it has to stand in line for a while. Lol! There’s never enough space under the flowering lights, is there?

And congrats on the latest harvest. The cobs are an addiction all their own.

AHHH! Makes perfect sense. Thanks! I have a vacuum sealer. Maybe I'll try it sometime. :)

Good morning Van and Ms. Stank! Man o man Van...i am way behind here. Miss a few days and takes a while to get all caught up! You guys are doing such a great job with all your strains...good on ya's sir! BD lookin nice and tasty, for sure.
