Sqwheels' Perpetual 2L Hempy + Moms

Hi OMM,

Yep, he knows his stuff...I'm sure it was in his journals somewhere I read this stuff on flushing with low dose nutes, but I don't know if I could find it again.

I have OC+ but have never used it...I think because my tap has high concentrations of Ca already and I'm using a mix of RO and tap. If I go to straight RO I'm pretty sure I'll need to add some.

Thanks for looking in and giving your ideas on this topic

:high-five:

Hold on to the OC+....It's getting hard to find around here. If you don't want it I will gladly take it! :thumb:

Yeah...Home dePot and Lows used to stock it, but for some reason after Scotts sold the Osmocote Professional line they stopped carrying it...I posted this back in November on the OC+ thread:
Just to add some additional information, there are two lines of Osmocote products, professional and consumer.

The professional product line is a slightly different formulation (mainly less calcium and magnesium) and is available in different release patterns such as Hi-Start , Standard, and Lo-Start. There are also different four different longevity ratings rantings available, 3-4 mo. 5-6 mo. 8-9 mo. and 12-14 mo., depending on the release pattern. The smallest package I've found the professional line in is 50 lb. bags.

The professional side of The Scotts Miracle Grow Company (Scotts Professional) was purchased by ILC Specialty Fertilizers back in February and has been sold under the Everris brand name since May.

The consumer product line that we are familiar with in Home dePot etc. (Which includes Osmocote Plus in the 4.5 lb. jug) was an off-shoot of the professional line. While the Scotts professional business group was sold, part of the deal was that The Scotts Company retained the rights to market the consumer Osmocote line of products. The American consumer line of Osmocote products has been distributed by Bloomington Brands LLC since 2003.

The I suspect the fact that Home dePot has stopped carrying the OC+ product line was merely a decision made by their buyers since they still carry the regular Osmocote line. If I were to guess, I'd say it didn't sell as well because it was more expensive than the regular stuff.

If you go to the Osmocote Plus page on Scotts' website they have a locate retailer option so you can see who carries it near you. Most Ace hardwares and True Values as well as garden centers around me carry it, but if they are out they probably won't be getting more in until spring (at least in my cold-ass part of the country). Amazon also has it available from several suppliers.

:Namaste:

I'm not sure what's going on, but it's frustrating since it's definitely superior to the regular Osmosote products, IMHO. Even Doc was just saying he will always keep some on hand!

You could always have a 50 lb. bag of the OC+ Professional shipped over to you and probably have enough for many years!

:Namaste:

Hi OMM,

I'll hang onto it...I bought it after I read a bunch of info in your journal, just in case. I found it at my Meijer store but you don't have those (only Mi and Oh stores)...if you can't find any, let me know I'll look for you.

@ Vape,

Good to know info on the differences in OC products...:thankyou:
Not sure which one I have now...didn't know there were so many different kinds...I know it says OC+ that's it. It's in a gallon size container, looks like a laundry soap bottle

:peace:

Hi sqwheels. I would keep it too. That's the good one you have. It's the one that has the little critters that help the whole plant system stay healthy and breaks things down for the plants. I have 3 gallons...I bought all I could find.:ganjamon:

Hi Folks,

Ok, it's a day late but here's my weekly Garden Update...

Very nice Sqwheels. Sorry about the OG being male that's a bummer. Thanks again for the info on the square containers of course the hydro store I went to doesn't have any I was able to find some at a nursery though.

Hi OMM,

Thanks...ya, she's about 1sqft footprint and there 40-50 nice tops with lots of secondary buds all along her branches. I kept her trimmed up tight as she was vegging and tied her branches at every couple of new nodes...lots of twist ties laying around now that her branches are all wood

Hi to Jo

Hi HMG,

It's a bummer because I was looking forward to having new genetics...I've been smoking Wonder Woman for a year just about, I can't wait to try this PE, she's only got a couple weeks left now and I'm salivating all over her already :yummy: she smells so good...really sweet.

Good job on the pots...I'm gonna keep my eye open this spring/summer for all kinds of containers, anything that will work ... I've discovered that even tho I'm growing in a hempy mix, it still works well if the pot has holes in the bottom...for now Wonder Woman bonsai is doing well anyway, she's still got weeks to go tho...we shall see what happens

Mr.K,

I'm really anxious to try her...:cheertwo: it's all I can do to make myself wait until she's ready

I'll let you know what I think for sure

:peace:

Kushwestcoast,

Hello...and :welcome: to my journal

Thanks for the compliment, I'm trying!!!

Just so you know...I'm female

Hope you enjoy :420:

Whassup Sqwheels! I'm jealous of you guys/gals and the PE. I go from journal to journal hearing about how good PE is to smoke/vape/grow... Now I'm so bummed that I don't have any PE seeds to sprout. Hope you end up liking yours as well or better! :)

By the way, I used to try to check in on your thread to see if I could help or answer questions somehow... especially when you were first getting started. If I'm being honest, I come here now mostly because you often have some of the best bud porn on the web! You really take excellent pictures of your beautiful plants. Well, I come here for more than the bud porn, but I literally look forward to seeing the frosty ladies you have in the garden... :)

Hi X,

No confusion...well maybe a little :) but more info to consider, I'm still learning and as far as I'm concerned more input is more better

25% of what? What you've been feeding? So if I've been feeding 1000ppm then flush with 250? I never got to 1000 with this plant, I've read that higher isn't necessarily better, so with these last two batches I've run lower nutes. PE's highest was just under 900, the Wonder Woman I harvested last month was the same way.

Thanks for the confusion...

25% of their recommendation is what they suggest - and yes, that's what I'd do in the 1000ppm scenario, flush 250ppm (if I'm going by what they say). They insist it helps flush better than straight water, I've heard this elsewhere too - but don't know why. Like I said, though, I use clearex with straight water now, but thought it was interesting and pertinent as far as how they recommend flushing.

I agree, higher isn't always better. Unless you mean when you are smoking/vaping it... then, higher is sometimes better!

Hi SpiriTHC,

Nice to see you again...thanks for the compliment. I appreciate that. They are coming along nicely...I can't wait to try the PE. She's looking especially sweet these last couple days.

:peace:

Hi X,

You have no idea how hard it's been not to clip and test her...I haven't actually tasted her yet...but she's been a breeze to grow. She should finish up soon, I'll probably cut her next weekend.

I've needed plenty of advice along the way and I'm so glad you've been here to help me, and I'm thrilled you think that much of my girls!!! :thankyou:

I usually have to take about 10 pictures to get 2 really good ones...I think I shake too much, a lot of them turn out blurry.

I've heard/read enough about the low dose nute flush to think it's the best way to go if you're trying to bring balance to your medium mix...that will be the method I use until it proves detrimental, and for now I'm gonna just keep doing like I've been doing and give just pH'd RO/tap for the last couple weeks before harvest.

I was at the hydro store and looked at the Clearex bottle... 95% water, 1.5% Gloucose, 3.5% Sucrose (or the other way around)... basically sugar water. ??? I'm gonna research it a little further and see what I can find.

When you say straight water...do you mean RO water or Tap water?

I agree, higher isn't always better. Unless you mean when you are smoking/vaping it... then, higher is sometimes better!

 You crack me up!!!

Ya...I'm not sure we're doing our girls any favors by pushing to the absolute max limit when it comes to nutes.

Update in the morning...more bud porn  I can't believe how much sugar that WW has @ just 30 days. She looks so :yummy:

:high-five:

Hi Folks,

Another Garden Update...Group shot this AM
DSCN15932.JPG

The Wonder Woman clones in the center are too close to the light now...will have to adjust things. 13 days for the WW and 5 days for the PE

PE showed calyx's before she showed me any hairs, if I hadn't known her to be female I think I would have worried...those calyx's looked kinda like boy parts
RSCN1587.JPG

but she's got flowers now, this is day 5 for her
DSCN1617.JPG

and day 13 for the WW
DSCN16042.JPG

Wonder Woman bonsai mom is budding up nice...she's @ 30 days flower and already getting a lot of sugar. She has about a 1sq ft..footprint, can't wait to see how much she produces

buds upclose...she sure looks sweet for just 30 days

And PE @ 51 days...she'll probably get cut this weekend @ 56, I've been checking her trics every few days now and some of them are really weird, I don't know if this is normal for some strains but she has trics the color of molasses, really dark brown, almost black

After rearranging things a little, I think this will be better for the WW clones, they aren't in the hot spot this way
DSCN16615.JPG

I haven't included the veg's lately so here's a couple of them

from underneath...you can see how I've used bag ties for training, she's tied down pretty hard...one day she'll produce like the one currently in flower :) maybe even better, I think I've trained her a little better
