Squiggle Is Testing The Sylstar GL4000a: Multi Strain Grow, In A Brand New Set Up!

That's "GDB" to you, @Squiggle! (No wonder you can't read the numbers on your VPD thingy. BTW, I hope your cat :)doesn't get too attached to that gadget.)

I've been having a blast catching up this morning and I'm staying for the show. Lots of laughs here and that's always a draw for me.

Congrats on the light, despite the fact that you've turned it into the most expensive free light ever!

Quick question: How long will you let the autos go before putting in the photo(s)?
Sorry GDB. I've edited it. GDP is the acronym for gross domestic product .. your not gross, are you domestic? Are you a product of some sort?? :p

The cat has been chasing the laser light all over . I've got it worn out. How dumb is that. Getting all excited over a light..

@Sylstar eeeeeeeeee I love your light.... I'm really really happy..:yahoo:

Ermmm.. where was I?
Glad you enjoy the content.. it's the members that make a journal. Not the author. So it's a combined giggle fest.. and I thank you all.

You're going to get me into trouble with missus squiggle saying that word "expensive" the light was a bargain, all the other stuff is an investment

They are all going under full light at the same time. I'm going to push the photos at (edit) 18/20 hours light a day. I will only flip them when they are monsters after the auto is finished.. is this a bad idea?

It depends, I guess.

I've had some long-running autos before, like 100+ days to finish. I don't think you'd want to veg a photo for that long before being able to flip to 12/12. But maybe you would, only you know. How tall is your easy-to-assemble tent?

If I was to try what you plan to do, I'd give the autos at least a month's head start before introducing the photos. That way if the autos run for, say, 80 days, the photos would have spent about 50 days -- give or take a few -- in veg and you can go from there. :Rasta:

To be fair to squiggle @Grand Daddy Black , it was me that put the idea to sqiggle. He said he wanted to do a big fem photo, veg for a while. So I suggested an auto also. But in the original post I said "a fem photo"
Don't know when that turned into 3?
I wondered where 3 came from Lol. While your here. Your advice is still good by the way and I will grow them all together. The only thing that I am unsure about is pushing the photos with 20 hours light! Do you think this is a bad idea mate?

Ahhh! I see your point.. good point.. luckily I have the 2x2 tent still set up. So if everything started getting like the Amazonian rain forest in there, I could put the auto into that.. that should work. I think..
It was very easy to assemble. It had 2 pictures to follow. Unfortunately I was as stoned as a gravel driveway at the time. It made simple things rather complicated

They'll be alright with 20hrs.

If it gets a bit busy, you can also drop the auto down to 12/12 lights when you flip the photos. It'll knock a couple of grams of the auto yield, but not much.

Cool... Great info.. I might just move the auto into the other tent when it gets crowded..
Thanks @Grand Daddy Black and thanks @Listersmeghead .
You've both have me info I can work with. I appreciate it. I wasn't looking ahead.. can I use a Stevie wonder reference at how blind I am about the future or is that pushing it

Mine just pop thru soul today!!! So excited and nervous at the same time because this is my first photo plant.
Congratulations. You will be fine.. they are pretty tough and I am sure you will give her all the care and attention she needs.. feel free to post some photos on here if you like.. it's everyone's journal

Hmm. If I had a few autos that were finishing like beasts -- packing on weight, glistening with sticky stuff and showing every indication of finishing in Full Metal Jacket mode -- would I really want to turn them down to 12/12 near the end?

Something to ponder. :hmmmm:

It's more of a hobby and medicine for the wife.
We are both one hit wonders  and one plant will last us a year..
So I could take that option if needed.. as long as the quality wouldn't be compromised. But, in nature, they would get less and less light towards the end anyway.. so quality might still be there..
But, I see both your points and they are both valid in my opinion.

Yeah, that's a fair point gdb, if he had more than one auto it would make a big difference. ..he has only got one auto hasn't he?....or has that turned into three also.
Squiggle??

Just found a one that's easier to read in the mirror
