Spimp's 150W HPS Bubba Kush Grow - New & Improved with Less Ghetto!

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

If all the ingredients in all the nutes are set at the same amount, like one Tablespoon per gallon water, then you can mix them. If there are differing ratios, I would not mix them. Also be aware some bottles are manufactured differently because some fertilizers, especially those with biota can grow, exponentially, in that container and explode. The bottles may be very thick or very dark amber or green to prevent sun getting at the bioactivity in the bottle.

Other than that, mixing is cool to do. If any one of them has 1 teaspoon per gallon, I'd have to say no to mixing if another had a 1 tablespoon per gal. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not planning to mix. I'm trying to get a feel for over/under feeding with my girls. I comes up with a theory, it seems to work for a week, then my girls go right back into vampiring their leaves. I'm closer to harvest now, so I'm headed into my second grow without learning how to fertilize from the first :(

I hate to go all whiney on other people's threads, but this spring has been a gardeners disappointment on several fronts.

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

I do 1/2 a teaspoon to 32 oz of water. like gardenfaerie stated, it's not advised to mix them, but I was getting tired of measuring such small amounts of each. the grow is mostly molasses and the bloom is mostly seaweed.

keep in mind that my plants aren't that big.

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

Everyone experiences this now and then. I have horrible garden years, let alone growing cannabis lately. That said, I too am starting another grow using two clones of Lemon Kush (because I love lemon so hope this tastes like lemons, no expectations though) and Money Maker with a Strawberry Blue.

Okay, so about 4 plants, maybe 5 if my last clone makes it.

I am using a certified organic potting mix which I have made myself before using the materials I buy from the soil yard where they actually make this potting mix, but this time I bough it bagged which was much more expensive @ 10.00 for 1.5 CF. I have two bags.

Into that, I mixed in a granular powder called Urban Farms which is not a sponsor. If you want the link I will be more than happy to provide it. You can do your own search and it is sold online. I love it. It is mixed into the soil with every possible nutrient including all the micro nutrients as well as 1000 spores of Glomus intraradices, which is the fungi which cannabis responds to the most. I can compare it to Growology in that the part I bought in the bag goes into the soil mix. Different ratios are listed on the bag.

After that, I go back and forth between two different fertilizers. One is certified organic and it is the one I always use the most, also Urban Farms, but liquid. Also having every element, but I do add calcium and magnesium to the Urban Farms liquid.

The other fertilizer I use is also a liquid and it is a 6-12-6 with trace elements and is called Medina Hasta Gro. I also use Medina Soil Activator which mellows soils outside and increases your microbes ten fold, provided you don't use any herbicide or pesticide. That kills biota in soils. Hasta Gro is not certified organic, it uses urea which is not an acceptable form of N in certification.

I think my plants are doing very well. They flowered way early, but they do have beautiful buds building and may be great weed. HOPE. PRAY!

That is my regimen for planting in containers. I would say if you want ease, go for the 80 or so dollars and get the Growology because I am adoring and loving the results Dennise is having using it. I don't use it because while organic, it is not certified. I do get how difficult the record keeping is with certification, but I had to do it at my nursery and think if you want it to say organic, it needs to be certified. Beware, if you ONLY see the word ORGANIC and it is not followed by CERTIFIED, it is probably NOT organic. This industry is disgusting. Really disgusting.

That's about 1/3 recommended strength swapping fertilizer with non-fertilizer watering . Thanks!!! :thumb:

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

b.real, I've got a couple of Purple Kush seedlings and after seeing your journal I'm tempted to put them in flower next week. The issue I have, I got the Growology nutrients with step one in the medium, if I were to put them in flower do you think I would use the veg nutes for about 3 weeks until pistils, then switch over to the flowering nutrients? Also what did you give them just the soil they grew in? I'm using ProMix, you think it'll matter or should this only be attempted with soil, because of the quick turn around time? Sorry for the interruption Spimp this has really peaked my curiosity.

a 2-3 week veg is suggested if you have the space since it takes that amount of time to determine sex even @ 12/12 from seed.

I start feeding my plants after I notice the first sign of yellowing/hunger. I follow a water, feed, water, feed schedule.

I used biobizz grow, bloom, and topmax. I mixed them in one container because I didn't feel like measuring each out lol. now I use a fish fertilizer which is an all in one deal.

As b suggests, go three weeks if you can, chin.
Great advice & perfect timing with the questions Chinnubie. I'm about to get my Growology on; have a couple of new plants and a re-veg that I'm sending right into the Bloom Tent as soon as there's space.

John G, I already know you take pride in & stand behind your product. So I would like your opinion on using SNS 604 A and B along with Growology 2 & 3 in the same mixture during my soil feeding.

Spimp, how about a close up of the Trans Siberian? You know we love pics... Right Trix? LOL

I really love the fertilizer companies, Thank GOD for competition!

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

Subbed! :cheertwo:

I'm looking forward to seeing how your plants turn out. Your setup looks very similar to mine (150w hps).

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

Less ghetto you say?:Hookah:

1. An actual grow tent vs. Hollowed out night stands.
2. Actual HPS lighting vs Sketchy CFL's contraption

Still got the purty little box holding up my veg-lings though. :high-five:

Be right over Jaga. I hope Padma has a bowl of Red Curry available. I likes it spicy! :smokin2:

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

Good Weedsday to all .... Spimp you didn't give me your opinion :hmmmm: looking forward to the sour d picts.

Re: Spimp's 150w hps Bubba Kush grow: New and improved with less Ghetto!

Garden just for clarification.... Growology is not nor do they advertise organic. Step 1 is but step 2 and 3 are not.....:circle-of-love:

Yes, I know Fifi. I wasn't bashing them. I hope it didn't sound like I was. I rather like their product line. I prefer organic. I have way too much wrong with me to put anything into the plant which isn't.

I love the way your plants grow and now I am seeing others using Growology simply due to your amazing growing with it. Cudos!
