Sorenna's - 2015 - Strawberry Blue Reveg in Soil under Mars LED

Funny you should ask that, Db003. :) I was just jumping through all the hoops to post a sneak picture of her.

Im not doing an update, because, honestly, how many ways can one say shes doing great? lol She is definitely filling out and getting bushy, bushy, bushy. While I was visiting with her last night, I noticed that multiple branches are making new branches. That makes me a bit giddy. :)

See ya later, taters.

Excellent! She has much more to grow. Take your time. Her entire rootball is working for you. She could potentially double in size from what you expect. They can surprise you Sorenna.

UPDATE: Louise - Day 24

Hi guys.

Louise is still doing beautifully, awesomely so, I think. She is just fluffing up. Thats the best I can describe it. I took a couple of pics of her tonight. They actually turned out decent for once. They really catch her essence. Ive not given her any water since a few days ago. Im checking the weight of the pot daily. Next time I water, maybe in a couple of days, or three, it will be plain water again, no food yet.

Im afraid we will have to change Mystery's name to Memory001 (Im sure there will be others). The seed failed to germinate. Not surprising. I know these things have to get hot this time of year in transport. So its just Louise this go around.

Not only is she getting fat, shes getting taller too.
louise8212.jpg

I have no concerns about her right now. Thats a welcome change. haha

xoxoxo
See yall next time.

She's going to surprise you Sorenna. She'll be bigger and fatter than she was the last time. This time she's starting with a fully formed root ball. I'm excited for both of you. :bravo:

Hi SweetSue. I read that she could possibly, double or triple her harvest on the second go round. Double wouldnt be much to write home about, but triple, that would be a right decent harvest. With only one plant, that is my goal: a decent harvest.

Ive started doing a little super cropping on her longer branches too, I think that might be why so many of her branches are growing branches.

I am already pleasantly surprised.

You're doing well Sorenna, and the most important evidence is your ability to be relaxed enough with her this go round to supercrop. Great job Baby.

Well, not too relaxed about it. I did it the first time a week ago, but I didnt say anything in case I killed the branch. I only tried it on one. I crimped it by accident, thought I might have split the stems outer surface, but it turned out that I didnt. I broke it a little more than I wanted (whoops), but it knotted up just like Ive seen in other journals. I cant think of any at the moment, though. Anyway, after that one did okay, I tried it again on another, but that one just wont bend over as far and has a weakness at the place in the stem, but is in no way broken. That is the tallest one you can see in the photo. And Ive done a 3rd as well, so I expect more bushiness. :)

By the way, the reason I tried it the first time was because of the discussion yall were having about it in your journal.

Your journal is going and so is Louise :thumb: As for super-cropping, it's known as an advanced method of training/shaping your plant. Super-cropping still is a bit difficult for me but you can get the hang of it. Try squeezing the stem between your thumb and index finger to loosen up the stem and slightly slide your thumb over your index finger to give it that bend. :thumb: Keep it growing.

Hi QKrop.

Ive seen it done and/or discussed in various journals. Louise and I kind of have this love/hate relationship. I throw stuff at her and she either loves it or hates it and lets me know one way of the other. haha

I tried topping and that seemed to have induced her split her stem later in flowering. I tried FIMming and I really did miss. Now were doing revegging, so why not a little bit of supercrop? She was very leggy last time. I want to avoid that a little better this time. Im going to try what you said. Thats what I really want to learn to do, but I guess I have to get a feel for it to do it that way. Ill get it.

Transparency Baby, transparency. Hahaha!!! The bad and the tenuous with the good. If you put the vulnerable moments out there it's more fun. It's only scary the first couple times you put yourself out there, and then you realize it's just words on a screen and nothing anyone can say that might be critical has to have any effect on you at all. Words on a screen. Take the chance and document it and throw it out there for the masses. Much more fun that way.

We've got a new girl in town. Her name is steff. If you have the time give her a look see.

Off to the labyrinth. :ciao:

I've damaged and split more stems and branches with training than I can remember. I've accidentally dropped wagon handles on babies and tweens and broken them badly. They live, you learn. Sometimes it makes for interesting looking plants....and has made me think about topiary training a MMJ plant, lol.

Hello. I'm gonna follow along quietly in the back of the room.

:goodjob:

Heirloom, hello! Welcome to my little corner of 420 magazine. Its a pleasure to meet you.

:welcome::thanks:

I just wanted to see how it would go first. Im getting old, I hate change, so when I try new things I like babysteps. haha It was sort of a spontaneous thing to do. I was looking at her and thinking.. Man, I dont want her to get too tall.. then the supercrop conversation popped up in my brain and before I could really think about it, I already had it done. I hated the way that branch looked all broken and bent like that. Fortunately, it didnt last long. But right after I broke that first one I had lots of doubts. Did I break it too much? Did I do it too early? So, decided to just keep it under my hat for a minute to see what would happen. This plant is so unpredictable, haha. I dont know how shes going to react to the littlest things and Im sure, to a plant, a broken branch is far from a little thing.

She performed beautifully.

I will go have a peek at Steff's journal, thank you.

Yeah, I keep expecting my light to fall, or some similar disaster, and break my plant(s). Murphy's Law applies to me. I dont know what caused her stem to split, but it did. Now I fear what unpleasant surprises that may for me later. Always in the back of my mind. Will the plant be able to support buds when they start to form? Will a virus attack the plant in that vulnerable spot? These are things I think about. Louise is a good teacher, if a bit abrupt about it sometimes, haha.

I guess what I do to her, if it doesnt kill her, then it makes her stronger. In some ways, shes not all like she was the first time around. Like her bushiness. She wasnt the first time around. She looks completely different. But shes still cantankerous. lol

You wont have to wait long at all for that update. :)

UPDATE: Louise - Day 26

Hi yall.

Louise is doing wondermous. I think I might love her. lol I gave her some water today: half a gallon, no nutes of any kind. I also did a little bit of trimming of the early ugliness and firm caresses of a couple of her branches. I think Ive gotten the hang of what I wanted to do. I crimped two and just curved two. Just curving them is what Im after. She is throwing new branches everywhere. Im a little flabbergasted at how she is taking off. Really.

louise8235.jpg

This one you can see where Ive been bending her and all the branching going on.
louise8234.jpg

I just liked this one especially.
louise8233.jpg

This is a closer view of the bend Ive been making with her, even the pistils I was talking about. (If I wanted to show those, I wouldnt be able to get the shot for love or money)

Oh, I finally cleaned out her tent a little bit. Bags gone. Loose perlite, gone. Woot!

Bye, yall.

:bravo:

Nice to have it clean eh? I think tomorrow I sweep. :laughtwo:
