Solo Cup Comp: Bring It!

I'll be tempted to re-pot into coco then. Plus my cup is only 14 ounce and I'm getting cup envy.
I think the rules should be clarified to say that the main thing is- the roots stay in the cup - but a reservoir is ok ? ( I think?)[/QUOTE]

"Cup envy". Bwah ha ha ha

i did not want to buy a bigger beer can,, so i just kinda made one,,, teeny bit small,, but,, it's beer,, so what could possibly go wrong??:bitingnails::hmmmm::hmmmm::winkyface:

So it seems some of us would like using a reservoir, initially I was against it and only wanted to use whatever can be contained within the solo cup. After thinking about it for a bit I can see that setting up a watering system to water a solo cup can be a challenge all in its own. What do the community think, hand water only or resevoir ok?

MmmmMMMMM, Honey Brown one of my favourites!!:circle-of-love:

There's definitely a difference between something like DWC with massive roots dangling in the res, and autowatering- where the entire plant and roots is still contained in the cup. Hell, even the rainwater I use for my grow is contained in storage reservoirs. I couldn't qualify unless I put in a tap :)

I'm pretty sure you got the date wrong on that cup Nivek, unless you have a time machine... If you do, PM me I have some questions about the future.

I guess my water comes from a resevoir from the east side of the dam lol. What I meant was no reservoirs for automated watering but we threw that out the window. The rules are go directly into flower and roots must be contained in solo cup or container with equal or less medium as a solo cup.

How's this for a cool little planter? It holds just a tad bit less than an 18 oz. solo cup and I got from a past Chia Pet purchase.

Any container of equal or less quantity is fine to use I hope.

yep,, thems the rules,, any container, that holds about the same amount of soil, however,, the rules are evolving,, stay tuned,,,

, as a matter of fact,, the container is part of the contest,, and ya gots a keeper there alright,, :bravo:

Another cool container I found while scurrying around my shop, or one I'm going to modify to become a planter if acceptable. It holds about as much as a 16 oz. cup and I submit to the head honcho running the contest for approval.:blunt::laughtwo:
