I'd like to jump in but all I have on hand is 18 oz. solo cups. Will that work?:hmmm:

Wait! Geez, I've already taken up half this thread babbling and now realize that -any sort of auto-watering system requires some form of reservoir, even if it's plain water. I can't be around most weekdays- I can't hand water during the week. So I may have to disqualify myself if this comp is hand watering only. :)

I think its mainly just not being able to give your roots extra room to spread out pass the solo cup down into a res.

I believe you can even set up a DWC as long as it fits into the solo cup lol.

Think you could get away with watering then put it in a ziplock bag to hold the moisture....? I wanna see ya in this buddy:thumb: Just an iderrr.

Ok, I'll aim for a pump watering system on a timer then, by the weekend. Cool. I'll be tempted to re-pot into coco then. Plus my cup is only 14 ounce and I'm getting cup envy.
I think the rules should be clarified to say that the main thing is- the roots stay in the cup - but a reservoir is ok ? ( I think?)

I think most of the solo cups are 18 Oz now that it's been mentioned. Yes 18 Oz is fine. Glad to have ya cola

Excellent! This should work out perfect for me since I already have a crop in veg. just waiting to go into flowering at the beginning of the month and means I can toss the solo cups around the perimeter of my table to do their thing in which I'll remove any males I see pop up in the process so as not to pollinate my big girls.
Lets have some fun as this will be a first for me flowering a plant straight from seed.:passitleft:

Personally, anything past five or six days germination makes me very nervous,, tho I have never had a seed not germinate, 16 for 16, or so, straight into moist (not wet) soil, 3/4inch deep or so.. Six days is my longest, usually three days max, for me so far anyway, cheers:Namaste:

Bridget took over a month to break dirt lol. She germinated in only a few days, just took forever to do anything besides peak out from under a dirt clod. She germinated on 11/1/2015 lol
