SoilGirl's Indoor Organic Soil Medical Grow Journal - Mars II 1600 & Other LEDs

McD's
The proof is in the budding.

Thanks guys! my pic taking looks a little rusty lol, I really didn't do those plants justice. The shading is all off. I'll work on that next time >.<

They are lovely. The lighting makes them look mysterious. :laughtwo:

I'm sitting here enveloped in the smells from my plants, completely mesmerized. Mmmmmm, I love flowering. :green_heart:

Sorry, got sidetracked. It's refreshing to see your updates again. You have a certain flair. Someday I may know half of what you do about strains.

:ciao:

Impeccable update, SG.

It's fascinating to compare your flowering at the same stage as mine. I took the laptop up to the tent and had a good side-by-side. :goof: You've taught me
1. The advantages of training. I too would train harder.
2. The advantage of defoliating hard. Next time...:laughtwo:
3. And perhaps most importantly - the benefits of LOS. If ever LOS needed proving, you've done it.

:thanks::thanks::thanks:
This is a special 6-star thread. You're always my MOTM, warts an' all.

:bravo::circle-of-love:

I forgot one pic yesterday hahaha. Oopsie. The family photo :)

Geesh OG Kush PR is one stretchy plant! She's soaring over Ghost OG now.

Sue, thanks so much hahaha. I always was obsessive about talking to budtenders about genetics and flavors every time I went in a dispensary (and I've been to at least 50) and lets just say I helped a lot of friends out with my red card so I had many opportunities to learn about strains and refine my palate. :laughtwo: but only a couple dispensaries grew weed like what I have now. Turns out, they used LOS! ;) no wonder I loved Boulder Wellness so much. I bet your Buddha and Bomb are smelling AMAZING right about now :) I totally understand hahaha. There just aren't words to express the smells from these buds, even on my first run through. I can give a description... but wow I SO wish I could share buds with everyone here, once I get my harvest I mean. Just to do them justice ;)

Koncept, thanks!! No way am I gonna let winter put me off my growing ;) where there's a will, there's a weed! :)

Mr. Teddy! :love: Thanks so much hahaha just when I was feeling like a bad teacher... and a warty one >.< LOL. You've got no idea how insane that thing is driving me. - As far as LOS - while I'm using LOS techniques, like a top cover mulch, constant watering, the use of Neem, Kelp, and Crustacean meals, SST's, aloe juice drenches, actually most of the plants in there are in a modified version of PeeJay's flowering soil. Much credit is due to him. Also much credit is due to COorganics for getting me started on proper worm farming, leaf molding, and much more. Things will get much better soon, I'll recycle all of that soil into an ROLS, reamended with fresh composts and amazing castings, and then we'll get into the serious business of no-till growing, where things will just get better and better as time goes on ;)

And aw thanks MedFarmer! You're too kind ;) I love to see the amazing trichomes in there... just makes me so happy! :) Even if my fingers get stuck on the mylar on the way in or out hahahaha. Those stupid space blankets aren't very cooperative with sticky fingers LOL. I accidentally pulled off one of the curtains when I was going in and out after a little defol on the older girls. My dad and his CBD juice takes a lot of leaves, so I guess I'm defoling a little every day. I just need to do more in the future. anyways gotta go staple a mylar curtain back into the ceiling lol.

:ciao:

Re: SoilGirl's Indoor Organic Soil Medical Grow Journal w/ Mars II 1600 and other LED

Awesome work Soilgirl. Subscribed. Hands down:goodjob: really cool, loving it!

If your plants are dominating the smaller one you should arrange from tallest to shortest outside in. This way the smaller one gets more direct light. You can even raise it with books or something to help keep a even profile then as the plant grows just remove the books or whatever you use 1 at a time. Also give the container a quarter turn every other day. Looks really good :) Keep up the good work

thanks so much and welcome FairyFHaroman :) I have a laptop once more (although honestly, not very satisfied with how they 'fixed' it. Whatever. It works. But the charger input is still faulty and and the charger falls out every time I move my laptop. Maybe I'll complain to them about that soon...but for now just glad to have it back - I digress lol) .... So I'll be keeping a good track of things again from now on :)

Thanks so much Joe! :thanks::Namaste: Right now my plants are kind of arranged like this under my lights.

lights being in the center (big 1600) and 2 100x3 old model LEDs above the right and left (the girl up top is the cabdriver experiment, its behind the two taller plants for a reason, to see how well it can do in minimal light) while my shortest plants are the two on the bottom, and two on the sides. I've raised them up a little with 2x4's but right now their canopies are about 16 inches under my big Mars II. (I want optimal light penetration to actually be a little further down my plants where popcorn would normally grow, the top colas seem to do just fine being a touch close)

The two on the sides are RCB and CK#2 (an underperformer on the side for a reason) - but, RCB is actually thriving as well as any of the ones directly under the Mars II - the way I have it arranged, it for some reason seems to even be doing better. I think its because its getting great diagonal angles of light penetration.

So while I'm definitely going to use your advice in the future, shortest on the very inside parts, and tallest on the outside, for now I'm pretty happy with the way they're arranged, I've been rotating my plants but not quite on a daily basis and I've only been turning them about 1 quarter 1 way, then work their way back to where they started and so on. Except, my cabdriver (my experiment in laziness I suppose :laughtwo:), and CK#2 lol. just don't really care about that one. While I'd love even growth all around, this helps control where the buds I want to focus on are, and keeps the foliage arranged in a way that all (except my cabdriver and CK#2) are as close to the Mars II as possible. I try to remove any popcorn that just wont get any density and so far, I'm actually really happy! I have very little true popcorn, except on OG Kush PR who needs a little trimming.

-- anyways to all it may concern -- I've got a lot of catching up to do around here. I'm going to get started. But it will probably be slower than I'd like because my daily life is suddenly getting very busy. between dating :)laughtwo: yes finally met someone or.... 2 someones.... or three........ I sound evil lol but I can't freaking choose yet, I want to get to know them all better!! how I met so many guys interested in me out here, I'm still wrapping my head around... but out of..whatever decency is in me haha, when I figure out which one I want something serious with most, I won't string anyone along. I hate being strung along. Never been in this position before!! F*** its hard! I don't want to hurt anyone..), taking care of my dad and the house, yard, the animals and my garden. Life is hectic for me at the moment but I'll do my best to bring the same energy/attentiveness here as you guys know me for.

Ugh I'm a little sad too.. I have to catch a rooster to put down today... he's been getting a little rapey on the hens and our older Roo, Rusty is not having it. My dad wants him gone, but a fresh dinner at the same time >.< ... me naming them all doesn't help >.< but I think they deserve a bit of love for what they give us. Alright. off to some dirty work and a few journals, I'll probably update tomorrow in here.

Oops CO didn't see ya there! Thank you so much and I'm very excited for the coming harvests! Soon now, soon :) I just wish/hope you can/could try some of my bud some day and I'd thank you for your guidance and shared passion in some physical way. --- hahaha and maybe even try one of those amazing buds you've grown/will grow soon. I can only imagine lol ;) Thank you my friend keep up the inspiring growth. You're definitely a real asset to have around here. :Namaste:

Thanks SG. Yeah we should smoke down someday, that would be cool. I'm going to the 420Party in Denver this year. I'll be the long haired redneck wearing a shirt with big letters, "fuck bottles" on the back and "SFW" on the front.

CO :rofl: awesome. I'll keep my eyes peeled for sure! Not 100% that I'll be there, but maybe!

:rofl: ...need me one of them shirts ;)

MedFarmer, the CC recipe reads 1/2 cup of each for every cubic foot of soil mix.
