SOGgy Daze Ahead For Mr. Krip!

I notice that in hydro- dwc top down, mothers, especially the bonsai variety, grow so freaking fast, its crazy.

My buddy had these mothers that were 6-7 years old on 24/0 in 5 gal buckets DWC top down... Anyways.... When he cloned the last time he took gigantic clones, like 2 feet tall, and cut his mothers down HARD... I was like WTF dude and he said...

"Those guys on 420 are keeping Bonsais bro... And after a butcher these mothers, I am going to have bonsais. lol

Sure enough after 3 weeks he had taken these mothers down to nubs and they are back. crazy...

The clones he took were huge. Just chimming in today, Friday, and I am rocking a buzz from SO-Cal. (NO job, ain't got shit to do.) ltr.

Thanks for that, Frat! :thankyou:
I know you've been following for a while and I appreciate it. I see the "likes" and "reps" from you and, every once and again, you chime in on the conversation.

It's great having you here and I've been a BIG fan of your WW Bonsai as I've been learning! :Namaste:

:thanks:... Unfortunately she's not doing too well right now. She had a bad fall back when I had no power for two weeks and I was moving all my plants from window to window to try and keep them alive. I think one of the dogs must have knocked her over.

To make a long story short, her main stem split going into the soil. I thought she was going to be okay, but now I can see that the plant on one side of the split is starting to fade. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet...but I'm rooting some cuttings for a new WW mom just in case.

I love how small you've kept yours! I think I'm going to try and keep my moms closer to that size in the future. :thumb:

Well, if you can't Duck it, then F*ck it as they say....MJ grafts pretty well, so tape that thing up!! I have grafted it to several different plants also...

Duuuuuuuuude! :thedoubletake:

I'm real sorry to hear that, but I agree w/ GT - Tape that mother up!!!

You need some sort of plant band-aid, or in this case, a "contraband-aid"! :)

I'd also add some SuperThrive (or similar) in with her feeding to reduce stress. Some of the leaves may be fading just from the stress and not actually die-back on the plant, but you have to watch out that the whole plant doesn't die back to the split. :goodluck:

A man can fix anything with only a hammer, duct tape, and the following rules:

1) If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape
2) If it doesn't move and should, use the hammer

:Namaste: :)

You guys are cracking me up!

The fall happened a couple of months ago... Although I didn't use duck tape (maybe I should have!) I did try to "splint" the breaks and used wire to hold them together. There were other breaks that healed okay, and don't seem to be causing any problems. I think the issue is that the split goes below the soil level, because it never "took". I know for a tree, that usually spells eventual rot and death.

I'm thinking I might be able to amputate the side that is dying off, give her a root pruning and see what happens.

I had thought of making an attempt at air-layering the the portion I'd be removing, but with that side fading so much that I don't think it would work now. I'm not even sure it's worth keeping her since she's so big and I've added moms for other strains now, it's just that the's my oldest plant (over a year), and I'm rather attached to her!

:Namaste:

I say take her where she split, cut the smaller or less secured piece off, and clone it into another one... Then you can have two...

I agree....you may be able to split the whole plant, divide up the roots and re-plant both sides. I've seen this done with Bonsai before, but usually it's on purpose and since the split happened a while ago, I don't know how it will take.

QUICK PIC UPDATE

I hope everyone had a great & green weekend! Time for a quick update....

The four plants in flower are all looking good. All are very bushy with HUGE leaves, but they're due for their 21-day defoliation this weekend:

No trich's yet, but I do expect to start seeing them soon :yummy:

The veg side of the cab is just PACKED! There are 15 plants in their now including the four Bonsai mom's and 11 rooted clones waiting to get big enough to go into flower:

DSCN17171.JPG

Here's one of the Power Skunk's that will be going into to flower this week. She's already about 7" tall, so just another couple of days:

DSCN17192.JPG

Here's another Power Skunk that's pretty close behind at about 6" tall:

DSCN17182.JPG

All-in-all, I think four more clones will go in this week, although, a few days apart. The last four went in at 8" tall and they still don't seem to be gaining all the height I was hoping for, although, definately taller than the first round plants. So, I'm gonna try to let these get closer to 10" before I put them in flower.

Here's the younger of the two Lucy Bonsais, still forming in her smaller hempy. It's tough to make out her branch structure with all the other plants in the veg cab, but I'll take her out soon for a photo shoot of her own:

Finally, on the cloning side of the cab, I have another 6 clones I'm still waiting to show roots, but they're only about 8 days old now:

And, I have another 10 clones, including 7 Lucy and 3 Power Skunk, that were just taken on Friday (3 days ago):

So, I should have more than enough clones now to fill the tent by the end of the month! :yahoo: - FINALLY! :wood:

BTW... I treated myself to some of the fully cured Power Skunk buds last night, and they're pretty primo, too! I'm really having a tough time deciding which of these strains is best. They all unique in their own ways, all smell & smoke great, and all have a great effect. I think, after smoking the PE for so long, it's just nice to have the change! :grinjoint:

Happy Harvests!

THE "GLENGARRY" BUDS

For anyone that remembers the old '80's movie, "Glengarry Glen Ross" you may remember that the "Glengarry leads" were the "primo" leads reserved for only the best salesmen. So, I've been calling my primo buds, the "Glengarry Buds"! :)

Anyways, I was going though the Glengarry buds tonight looking for a possible NOTM submission, and thought I'd post the pics that aren't going into the NOTM contest.

First, here's a couple shots of the Glengarry Pineapple Express buds in a nice jar I got for them:

I don't know if you can gauge size, but those buds are HUGE! :MoreNutes:

Here's some shots of one of the PE buds:

But, I decided to submit the Power Skunk for NOTM this month. Here's a few shots of one of her buds. The second & third pics are the NOTM submission photos:

I have this book a friend got me several years ago called, "The Marijuana-Logues" which is really funny...if you're a stoner! :)

So, being one, I was re-reading it again and came across a story I thought I'd share:

"So, I'd been working at Kentucky Fried Chicken for a couple of days, making minimum wage, and then I decided to have a great idea. Why not sell weed at the drive-through window?

So, I came up with a code, an expression for customers to use to let me know they wanted to get some weed. All they had to do was ask for 'extra biscuits"

Yeah, I really didn't think it through, 'cause as it turns out, a lot of people at KFC ask for 'extra biscuits.' One fat off-duty cop in particular.

So, I got busted, but I didn't do any time because it was my first offense. Now, I work over at Taco Bell. And, the code is still 'extra biscuits' cause we don't sell no biscuits at Taco Bell. I'm not stupid!"

Mr.K,

Very nice...those beauties in flower look sooo yummy. And it sounds like your tent will be full in no time now. Great Job :thumb:

Have you thought about topping your plants before you move them into flower? I'm growing a couple of seeds right now and I UBT'd them...they will have 4 colas each. I'm interested to see how they grow in 2L SOG.

:peace:

Thanks, Sqwheels! :thanks:

I did a 2-cola plant in the first round and it came out fine. Here's a pic of her a couple weeks into 12/12:
